What happens when Springfield U.S.A. meets Armchair Imagineering? Could The Simpsons be leaving Universal Studios Hollywood — and if so, what should take its place?

In this episode of *Imagine That!*, Amanda and Kevin welcome back special guest Danny from **@JustAskDanny** for a blue-sky brainstorming session about the future of Springfield U.S.A. at Universal Studios Hollywood!

We start by exploring the history of The Simpsons at Universal, Disney's acquisition of the franchise, and the complicated world of theme park licensing. With questions surrounding the future of Springfield, plus evolving relationships involving Warner Bros., Skydance, Sony, and other entertainment companies, there's plenty to consider when imagining what's next.

Then it's time to put on our Armchair Imagineering hats!

Could Springfield become an expansion of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, complete with a Forbidden Forest attraction? Could Back to the Future make a triumphant return? What about a family-friendly DreamWorks experience, a Dr. Seuss adventure, Ghostbusters, Sesame Street, or an immersive Pokémon land?

We explore the possibilities, discuss the challenges of Universal Studios Hollywood's unique layout, and share our own ideas for creating immersive, interactive experiences that could transform this area of the park.

**Now we want to hear from YOU!** If you could replace Springfield U.S.A. with ANYTHING, what would you create? Join our free Imagine That! Discord community to keep the conversation going!

What happens when Imagine That! meets Extra Magic Hour? You get a little theme park news, a little Armchair Imagineering…and a whole lot of screaming. 🎃

Amanda, Kevin, and Kelly are recapping their recent trip to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood — which also happened to be Kelly’s very first haunt experience!

Before braving HHN after dark, we experienced the Unmasking the Terror Tour, getting a completely different perspective as we explored two of the haunted houses with the lights ON. Then night fell, and it was time to experience the houses as intended, venture through the scare zones, and take a ride aboard the Terror Tram.

We’re sharing what we experienced, what surprised us, and how a first-time haunt guest handled it all. Then we put on our Armchair Imagineering hats and ask: What worked, what could be improved, and what would we do differently next time?

It’s Extra Magic Hour meets Imagine That! — Halloween Horror Nights edition!

Until next time, we’ll see you in the parks!

Our tour of the Imagineering Horizons pavilion at D23 continues! In Part 2 of this Imagine That mini-series, we explore the pavilion’s Walt Disney World displays and the new attractions and experiences coming to three of its theme parks.

At Magic Kingdom, we examine the Carousel of Progress display and look ahead to Villains Land and Piston Peak. We then head to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to discuss Monstropolis before visiting the Tropical Americas section for a closer look at the animal carousel, Encanto and Indiana Jones experiences coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Our journey concludes in the pavilion’s final room, where Imagineering showcased some of the latest technology being developed for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Could this technology eventually appear in the parks—and what might it mean for the future of immersive storytelling? Join us as we revisit the displays, share our firsthand impressions and discuss where Disney Imagineering may be heading next.
