My Life Is an X-File: Ghosts Don't Knock
Show notes
Ghosts don't follow a calendar, and they certainly don't wait for Halloween! Three firsthand encounters take us from the singing ghosts of the Stanley Hotel to an unexpected bed companion at a haunted inn and a restless spirit who needed help moving on.
Add a few haunted detours, mischievous spirits, a Titanic connection, and a college dorm encounter worthy of the Cowardly Lion.
Nearly 30 years of paranormal experiences, and we haven't even touched the nightlights. But that's another story—and not necessarily a ghost story.
Stay curious. Ghosts have a sense of humor, too.

Willard Library: The home of 24/7 ghost cams - Stacie Dotson resident Ghost Authority
Show notes
The home of 24/7 ghost cams. Stacie Dotson, Librarian’s Assistant is the resident authority on Willard Library’s ghostly history at Willard Public Library in Evansville, Indiana, where the stories extend beyond the bookshelves.
Its Grey Lady has inspired generations of reports, and its ghost cams invite the rest of us to watch.
Stacie is our guide to Willard Library’s history, hauntings, and resident mysteries. She gives us a recap of a visit by Ed and Lorraine Warren and shares experiences staff and visitors describe, and what happens when a library opens its doors to curiosity about the unexplained.
Stacie has had a few experiences as well but one of the most interesting was the podcast team who got a little more action than they wanted... later posting a vow on social media ... there would be NO more library visits.
For remote participation, use the library’s ghost cams page. The FAQ invites screenshots or screen recordings by email to willard@willardlib.org or through Willard Library Ghost Chatters on Facebook.
Bonus: Watch the paranormal investigation - Stacie mentioned. She's also featured in the video along with Archivist Hannah Thomason. You'll get the expanded backstory on the library and more details on the family drama around the Grey Lady and it would seem some interesting interaction from the library ghosts.

When UFOs Pretend to be Stars: Patricia Avant
Show notes
For Patricia, the question isn’t “Are UFOs real?”
It’s “What are they really doing?”Reverse Engineering The UFO Mindset - Class description: This isn’t just another UFO course. It’s a mental detonation device — designed to rewire how you see the skies, the world, and your place in it.
Patricia Avant is a long-term civilian experiencer who began documenting UAPs in 2016 after witnessing four reddish-orange orbs hovering motionless in the sky. Over seven years, she has recorded more than 10,000 hours of footage through systematic skywatching.
Patricia’s images are extraordinary, and the videos are outstanding. Her work challenges popular assumptions shaped by media portrayals of UFOs as solid, metallic craft. Instead, many UAPs appear as transient lights, color-shifting forms, or objects that emerge briefly from camouflage-like states before disappearing.
Avant’s approach emphasizes method over belief, training attention to recognize recurring indicators such as color signatures, movement patterns, visibility transitions, and timing.
After observing so many shapshifting stars, Patricia now questions what is really going on in the sky? And what exactly are UFOs / UAPs? After you see her images and videos you might ask more questions too.
"If you’re serious about understanding UAPs beyond the surface-level headlines this is where you start." Class information: https://reverseengineeringtheufomindset.com/

Remote Viewing the moon, UFO Bases, and Project 8200 - Paul H. Smith
Show notes
Paul H. Smith: The longest-serving Controlled Remote Viewing (CRV) instructor active today. He began his career as a remote viewing instructor in 1984 and served for seven years in the U.S. government’s Star Gate program at Fort Meade (1983–1990). He was one of only five individuals personally trained by remote viewing pioneers Ingo Swann and Dr. Harold E. Puthoff at SRI-International.
Author of The Essential Guide to Remote Viewing: The Secret Military Remote Perception Skill Anyone Can Learn, Amazon Affiliate Link.
"He was extraordinarily accurate, unbelievably accurate." (a former CIA official, on a series of remote viewings by Pat Price). Paul was involved in Project 8200, an effort led by Frederick “Skip” Atwater, in which six military remote viewers sought to gather intelligence on the four alleged extraterrestrial bases Price had identified.
One particularly compelling connection emerged in 1985, when remote viewer Paul H. Smith conducted a session targeting Mt. Hayes, Alaska. At the time, he had little knowledge of Price’s earlier claims. It wasn’t until 2010, upon seeing the original documents, that Smith realized how closely his session aligned with Price’s descriptions.
Skepticism and Reality: Smith notes that while 90% of UFO rumors may be "baloney," the Nimitz carrier group incident represents well-vetted, objective evidence that requires serious consideration.

Terry Lovelace: Devil's Den - Unexplained
Show notes
Terry Lovelace, retired lawyer and former Assistant Attorney General, never intended to share his story publicly. A discovery in 2012 changed his mind. He decided to speak for those willing to consider his experience — and those still reluctant to share their own.
In 1977, Terry and his friend Toby went camping at Arkansas’s Devils Den State Park. Terry planned to photograph wildlife. The nighttime sounds stopped, and lights appeared. Terry describes an encounter that left him struggling with PTSD for decades. He thought he saw children walking acoss the field. His friend told him to look again. They weren't children. To this day, he avoids open, grassy fields.
Incident at Devils Den, recounts that night and its aftermath. But at an editor’s suggestion, Terry left out parts of his personal history. Those details became central to his second book, Devils Den: The Reckoning.
Questions linger. Terry says the area where they camped was restricted. Why? Had something happened there before? One curious detail still puzzles him: he had planned the trip around taking photographs, yet left his camera at home.

Time Slips, Electronic Fog, and UFOs — New book coming: Bruce Gernon
Show notes
Bruce Gernon explores the growing UFO connection, atmospheric anomalies, vortex theories, and the unanswered questions still surrounding the Bermuda Triangle.
This is Part One of my continuing conversation with pilot and Bermuda Triangle researcher Bruce Gernon, whose 1970 encounter with Electronic Fog, a vortex-like cloud tunnel, instrument disruption, and an apparent time-space displacement continues to raise questions more than fifty years later.
What has become increasingly apparent in Bruce’s ongoing research is the UFO connection — though exactly how that relationship works remains unresolved. Is the phenomenon atmospheric, electromagnetic, plasma-based, space-time related, or something being used by an unknown intelligence? Bruce continues exploring those possibilities through his YouTube channel, where he shares visual dramatizations and three-dimensional reconstructions designed to show more accurately what he experienced.
We will reconnect for Part Two to explore another fascinating development: Bruce is now working with AI to help investigate the science behind his experience. That research will be included in his next book and may offer new ways to examine the atmospheric, electromagnetic, and space-time questions that have surrounded his encounter from the beginning.

From Zookeeper to Whale Ambassador — Anne Gordon
Show notes
Marine behavior specialist Anne Gordon spent more than twenty years training animals for film and television before the ocean's largest minds pulled her life in a new direction. In this conversation, she reframes where we actually stand in the story: humans have been around 50,000 to 70,000 years, while whales first emerged some 40 million years ago and dolphins around 10 million. Beside these elder species, we're the toddlers — and we have a great deal to learn.
Anne's invitation is simple and demanding: spend time with these animals, listen deeply, and observe them without superimposing our own beliefs and behaviors onto them. Do that, she says, and our relationship with them — and with the ocean, nature, and ourselves — inevitably deepens. You can meet them in the wild, or call them into your meditations and your dreams.
Known as a bridge between science and spirit, Anne is the author of the forthcoming Wisdom from the Sea: Lessons in Joy, Flow, Healing and Love from Dolphins & Whales (Nov 23, 2026).
"Once you look into the eye of a whale, your life will never be the same again. There is a deep honesty that exists there — one that will insist upon integrity from that moment on." — Anne Gordon

Love, Memory & the Lives Between Lives — Kathleen Ready Dayan
Show notes
Kathleen Ready Dayan has always written about complicated human territory. Her earlier novel L.A. Ice explored addiction, recovery, love, and the difficult reality of getting sober and staying sober — a story readers with firsthand experience praised for its authenticity.
But there was another part of Kathleen’s life she initially kept out of her public story. As she became more open about her own experiences, she began talking about an unexplained encounter that challenged her worldview, spirit-guide contact, departed loved ones, past-life memories, mediumship, and the connection between sobriety and spiritual awakening.
Those experiences now inform Before We Were Born and Meet Me in Heaven, novels exploring reincarnation, soul connections, choice, and what may happen between lives. This time, we go behind the fiction: What did Kathleen experience, what did she initially resist — and what finally made her willing to talk about it?
Sometimes the bigger story begins when we stop asking, “Can this be real?” and start asking, “What is this showing me?”

Telepathy, Autism, and the Realms Beyond Words
Show notes
The second book is coming — a perfect reason to revisit my conversation with Jes Kerzen.
Jes is a retired teacher and advocate for neurodivergent students. Her story began when Asher, an autistic six-year-old in her class, appeared to use telepathy to communicate with the one adult he believed could “hear” him.
Jes says she had no previous experience with telepathy. But her connection with Asher opened the door to years of exploring psi, consciousness, remote viewing and the dimensions Asher calls The Realms. Their extraordinary relationship became the book A Mind Beyond Words.
One of the most fascinating details Jes shared in our interview was Asher’s apparent ability to preview material in a book and then explain concepts she found difficult to understand.
His message is equally striking: “Don’t write me (and those like me) off, if we seem limited and inadequate in human terms… We have subtler things to share, which will benefit humanity.” — Asher, October 2023
Now their story continues with a second book, expanding their conversations about consciousness, psychic ability, neurodivergence and The Realms.
Revisit the interview and discover where this remarkable teacher-student relationship began. Sometimes the person we think needs to be taught is the one who came to teach us.

Bruce Gernon: Electronic Fog and the Bermuda Triangle
Show notes
“Skeptics have dismissed the Triangle as a nonmystery, but they weren’t in my airplane when the fog surrounded my craft and I leaped ahead 100 miles. I documented what happened and memorized every detail of that flight.”
— Bruce GernonIn December 1970, Bruce was flying from the Bahamas to Florida when he encountered a rapidly forming storm in the Bermuda Triangle. He describes entering a tunnel-like opening in the clouds before his aircraft became surrounded by a strange gray-white haze.
His instruments malfunctioned, visibility became distorted, and the airplane appeared to travel approximately 100 miles in far less time than should have been possible.
Bruce later coined the term electronic fog to describe the anomaly. The experience changed the course of his life and led to more than five decades of research into weather, electromagnetism, vortex formations, and possible distortions of time and space.
To show what he witnessed more accurately, Bruce created a three-dimensional reconstruction of the flight, including the cloud tunnel, electronic fog, and apparent displacement.
Watch the animated reconstruction
In our conversation, Bruce also shares more of his personal story, including a childhood UFO sighting and an unexplained voice he heard after the flight. The voice told him to remember the events of that day because they would be important for the world to understand in the future.Bruce has also documented a curious hexagonal opening in storm clouds witnessed with his granddaughter. Could geometric cloud formations be connected to vortex activity—or something science has yet to identify?

The Nightlight: Thirty Years with a Non-Physical Intelligence
by W. S. Garrett
Kindle Edition and Paperback
Available August 1, 2026I mentioned I was working on this and… after a few pauses, reconfigurations, and diversions… it is done.
This is not a complicated book. It is a continuation of the story I began in Talking to Nightlights — an update shaped by nearly three decades of experiences that have been extraordinary, challenging, funny, mysterious, and sometimes nearly impossible to put into words. I still can’t capture all of it. But this is one piece of the puzzle we are all working with.
Times change. Awareness evolves. Society shifts. Language changes with it.
What we once called spirits, entities, UFOs, or something else entirely may now be described as non-physical intelligence, non-human intelligence, or UAP. And that makes me wonder about history. How often have people encountered something genuinely anomalous but interpreted it through the only language and worldview available to them at the time?We may have been talking about the same mysteries for centuries—simply giving them different names.
My stories may resonate with others who have experienced things no one else would believe. Because the reality is: this stuff happens.
And sometimes, it is simply reassuring to discover that we are not alone in having experienced it—and that there is still an enormous encyclopedia of the unknown waiting to be explored. Each of us has our own reality to unwrap.
The nightlight was my invitation.
Curiosity opened the door. After having so many of these experiences it is easier to say, "Anything is possible."

JOHN FOSTER: IDENTIFIED PHENOMENA: Documentary Director Rhett McClure
Show notes
For decades the public conversation has largely asked: “Are UFOs real?”
Director Rhett McClure has a confession. He had his own UFO sighting when he was 13. And that made him curious. When he stumbled onto John's story, he wanted to know more.
JOHN FOSTER: IDENTIFIED PHENOMENA is a documentary asking a more challenging question than whether UFOs are real. The question: What happens when a lifetime of documented experiences refuses to fit within our current understanding of science, consciousness, history, and human potential?
Foster recounts encounters involving windowed saucers, coffin-shaped craft, luminous atmospheric distortions, and entities that appeared capable of moving between realities. Speaking as both an experiencer and an engineer, he explains how he continually tested his own memories against verifiable facts, determined to understand what was happening rather than simply believe it.
Sometimes the greatest mystery isn’t what appears in the sky. It’s what quietly walks beside us for a lifetime.

Evergreen - Revived for a Summer Run - Conscious Living on Empower Radio
Show notes
A blast from the past: some of my original Conscious Living shows are being featured in the special limited-time revival of Empower Radio.
I have no idea which titles were selected, so this is a true archive surprise. These episodes are presented as-is — original content, recorded live, free of edits, and very much from the moment. Gasp! And yes, that photo is… dated. Gasp x2.
Empower Radio began in 2007 as an idea scribbled on the back of a receipt after lunch: what if radio could be used to raise consciousness and connect with people in a deeper, more meaningful way?
Founder Brent Carey brought that idea to life in 2009, launching Empower Radio as an internet station in Northern Michigan. Live shows were later made available as “shows on-demand” before most listeners were familiar with the word podcast. Over time, Empower became one of the early national podcast networks offering subscription-based shows focused on personal growth, spirituality, health, wellness, and conscious living.
After 13 years as an online radio station and podcast network, Empower paused in 2022 and later evolved into The Empower Channel in 2024, expanding its mission through video on YouTube, Facebook, X, and Substack.
Now, in celebration of Empower’s 17th anniversary, Empower Radio is back for a limited time, streaming a curated mix of inspiring conversations from 2009 through today — including archive episodes from longtime hosts, plus new weekly episodes from Bonnie Wirth and Lisa Campion.
I’m honored to have Wendy’s Coffeehouse included in this revival and grateful to be part of Empower’s larger mission: positive media created to inform, uplift, and inspire curiosity.

Summary: This video is a 2015/16 archival broadcast of Wendy's Coffee House, a talk radio program exploring UFO phenomena and the intersection of dreams and psychology. In this segment, host Wendy shares UFO-related news headlines before interviewing guest JM DeBord (also known as Jason), a renowned Reddit dream interpreter and author of the Dream Interpretation Dictionary.Part 1: UFO News and Headlines (0:41 – 8:34) Wendy discusses several topics related to unidentified aerial phenomena:
• Roswell 70th Anniversary: Discussion of upcoming events in Roswell and the persistence of UFO witness reports (1:47).
• Project Blue Book: The History Channel's series project involving Robert Zemeckis and the historical case files of Dr. J. Allen Hynek (5:20).
• UFO Roadside Attractions: A spotlight on Jody Pendarvis and his UFO-themed display in Bowman, South Carolina (4:07).
• Robert Bigelow: A mention of the billionaire's contributions to space exploration and the study of UFOs (6:56).Part 2: Interview with Dream Interpreter JM DeBord (8:34 – 40:30) Jason explains his methodology for interpreting dreams, emphasizing that they are personal stories rather than fixed definitions:
• The Symbolic Approach: Jason stresses the importance of analyzing the setting, characters, and actions within a dream to find personal meaning (31:26). He cautions against relying on one-size-fits-all dream dictionaries (13:33).
• Visitation Dreams vs. Metaphors: Jason discusses how to distinguish between a metaphorical dream (related to grief or personal growth) and a potential spiritual visitation. He notes that visitation dreams often feature the deceased in their prime, convey messages of love, and sometimes provide unknown information (21:16).
• Dream Myths: Jason debunks the common myth that dying or hitting the ground in a dream results in real-life death, sharing his own personal experience where a falling dream symbolized hitting 'rock bottom' and prompted a major life change (34:10).
• Community Impact: Jason shares how he began his work on Reddit (the r/Dreams subreddit) to help people navigate their subconscious and why he believes understanding dreams is a powerful tool for personal development (26:40, 30:44). -

Elly Flippen on Ingo Swann, ET Contact, and the Cautionary Side of Perception 2/2
Show notes
In Part 2 of my conversation with author Elly Flippen, we move into the more esoteric side of Ingo Swann’s work — including remote viewing the planets, UFOs and UAPs, non-human entities, and the complicated nature of contact experiences.
Ingo Swann is widely known as an artist, author, and remote viewing pioneer, but his explorations extended far beyond laboratory perception studies. His work touched the edges of anomalous contact, intelligence beyond the human frame, and encounters that were not always comfortable — or easily explained.
Elly shares that there is a downside to contact experience that has not been given enough attention. Not every encounter is benevolent. Not every presence is what it appears to be. And not every open door is easy to close.
Drawing from Ingo’s writings, his website, and Elly’s own work, this conversation asks a deeper question: What kind of preparation, discernment, and grounding are needed before engaging the unseen? Curious about Ingo's explorations. Elly has created a wonderful archive. http://IngoSwann.com is an excellent resource.

You Know More Than You Think: Elly Flippen on Perception Before Thought 1/2
Show notes
In this two-part conversation, we talk with author Elly Flippen about You Know More Than You Think, her five-book experiential series exploring perceptual literacy — how awareness forms, stabilizes, differentiates, navigates, and eventually encounters the larger forces shaping reality.
Elly brings a unique personal perspective to this work. She grew up in close proximity to her uncle, artist and remote viewing pioneer Ingo Swann, where she was immersed in his creative work, perceptual research, and the wider community around it. That early exposure gave her a first-hand view of how perception operates at the edges of what is usually noticed.
As an example, the first book in the series, What’s Already There, which focuses on perception before thought: the body’s ability to register tone, atmosphere, connection, and pattern before conscious reasoning steps in.
This is not a conversation about mystical powers. It is a grounded look at the subtle ways we sense, respond, and know more than we may have been taught to trust. Across the two interviews, Elly offers a thoughtful bridge between lived experience, perceptual science, neuroscience, and the research lineage of Ingo Swann.

Talking with ETs - and using AI to communicate with Whales
Show notes
In this short edited segment, Meg Hansen explores the challenge of communicating with non-human intelligences through telepathy, tones, emotion, and symbolic thought rather than spoken language. She describes the experience as trying to process information that arrives faster than the human mind can translate it into words.
Could AI could eventually help bridge that communication gap by recognizing patterns, frequencies, or forms of intelligence humans struggle to interpret in real time? A recent breakthrough study involving a 20-minute interactive exchange with a whale raises intriguing questions about consciousness, nonverbal intelligence, and whether humanity is closer to understanding entirely different forms of communication than we realize.
