Relegation has been confirmed for Wolverhampton Wanderers and in this episode, Wolves Unpacked takes a different approach.

Rather than focusing on recruitment, managers or tactics, hosts James Bird and former Wolves midfielder Dave Edwards reflect on the emotional and human reality of relegation.

Drawing on Dave’s own experiences of both relegation and promotion, the episode explores what it feels like inside the dressing room when the inevitable becomes reality, the responsibility players carry, and what is truly lost when a club drops out of the top flight for the squad, the staff behind the scenes, and the city of Wolverhampton itself.

The conversation also looks at the warning signs that led to this moment after years of decline in league finishes, why culture becomes more important than ever after relegation, and how Wolves can respond immediately to give themselves the best possible chance of bouncing back stronger from the Championship.

Plus, Dave shares details of his upcoming run in the London Marathon on Sunday 26th April in support of the Little Rascals Foundation, where he’s aiming to raise £10,000 for charity.

Wolves show their resilience once again with a battling 2-2 comeback draw away at Brentford, but how did they turn it around?

Dave Edwards and James Bird break down a real game of two halves, analysing what wasn’t working early on and how a key tactical tweak, including the introduction of Angel Gomes, shifted the momentum back in Wolves’ favour.

There’s plenty of praise for Adam Armstrong after a clinical finish and growing influence in the final third, while the lads also check in on Mateus Mané’s development and highlight the continued progress of Tolu and Jackson Tchatchoua.

Rob Edwards’ in-game management comes under the spotlight again, with his substitutions proving decisive, alongside clear signs that this Wolves side is getting fitter, sharper, and more connected as a group.

With momentum building, the big question now is whether the upcoming three-week break comes at the wrong time… and what the squad will be doing to maintain their edge.

Another comeback. Another step forward. But this Wolves side wants more.
