10. Seven Havens: "Ghosts and Spirits"
Season 2, Episode 40
Show notes
What's the difference between an Orangutan-Deer and a Man-Moose? Katie and Jordan really try to figure that out while they discuss Avatar: Seven Havens Chapter 10: "Ghosts and Spirits" and Katie definitely expected this to be a way spooked episode.
Jordan thinks Geet has been shrinking over the past few episodes and goes off on a tangent about 90s choking hazard nightmare candy Wonder Ball after watching Pavi turn into one.
Katie keeps calling Nisha and Pavi's parents "farmers".
All of Jae's deception is stressing Katie out.
Jordan isn't stoked about Pavi's newfound ability to vibration-sense and feels like more of her abilities need to feel earned.
Katie is curious how Pavi got out of Ellora when a group of kids couldn't help their sick mom.
And what exactly did Nisha see when she touched the freaky Cosmic Cube? Jordan and Katie try to figure it out. Beware the cube!

9. Seven Havens: "The Envoys Part Two"
Season 2, Episode 39
Show notes
The first two-parter of the series is done! On this episode, Katie and Jordan discuss Seven Havens Chapter 9: The Envoys Part Two and Jordan thinks they didn’t have enough material for two episodes and thinks about half of this chapter falls flat. (Cue sad trombone noise.)
Katie thinks an entire Avatar cycle has lived and died in Republic Forest and Jordan doesn’t think we’ll see “The Lost Haven” this season. Both think the rekindled romance between Kayoko and Karthik is definitely dead.
Jordan doesn’t love how Nisha revealed herself as the Avatar, but finally understands how to pronounce “Agam” and Katie thinks she is going to continue Nisha’s training.
When Pavi enters the Cosmic Realm, Katie calls it, “Rainbow Road” and Jordan has a fresh theory about what the Anomaly is!
During this episodes Avatar Cold Call, Jordan learns what element his brother identifies with and that Jae’s voice actor Major Curda has a Cartoon Network connection.

8. Seven Havens: "The Envoys Part One"
Season 2, Episode 38
Show notes
Katie is getting serious "Aladdin" (1992) vibes from Seven Havens so far and Jordan thinks we've met this series' Cabbage Man while they react to Chapter 8: The Envoys Part One.
This episode is one of Jordan's favorite things in animation: a two-parter and talks way too long about multi-part episodes from The Disney Afternoon and his childhood refrigerator magnets for some reason.
Katie thinks it's going to be up to Pavi to save the day in part two and says she and Jae are the only characters she can 100 percent trust in this series.
Jordan says we got way too many character names thrown at us in this episode and he just kinda gave up trying to remember and pitches a wild theory why there may be fewer benders in the world.
Also, there are way, way more envoys than either of them expected.
Jordan isn't into the slang "New Ba" but Katie is all about it.
Jordan makes a weird connection between the people of Akasha and Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII. Enjoy that.

7. Seven Havens: "What Lies Beneath"
Season 2, Episode 37
Show notes
This episode was so dense with blink-and-you-miss-it-moments that Katie and Jordan definitely spend most of this podcast saying "I don't know!"
On this episode, Katie and Jordan dive into Avatar: Seven Havens Chapter 7: "What Lies Beneath" and after seeing the locker room, Jordan has questions about what other avatar-centric merch exist in this world. Hats? Novelty t-shirts?
Katie re-pitches the theory she already forgot she pitched in our last podcast episode about the origin of the Anomaly (a.k.a. "Big Red Square") and is really excited about Pavi's intuition and her character growth.
Jordan is excited Seven Havens has shown us their most "Mad Max" scene yet and is now obsessed with the Anomaly goo.
An Avatar fan is cold-called who actually answers and actually knows what Seven Havens is! Also, he loves tea. It's not Iroh, but wouldn't that be great?

6. Seven Havens: "Night of the Afflicted"
Season 2, Episode 36
Show notes
Avatar's spOoOoOkiest episode ever is here and is definitely at Katie and Jordan's threshold for scares.
Chapter 6: "Night of the Afflicted" tackles some very heavy topics regarding Pavi's disability. Jordan appreciates the care and research that went into handling Pavi's leg and Katie feels that the inclusivity and representation is very well done.
Jordan is noticing almost all of the side characters in this series get a name and is making the world feel a bit more alive. Katie really enjoys Pavi's nickname of "Dirt Girl" and thinks Jordan should get off his high horse about the show's animation and he is just excited at the lack of gaudy CG vehicles roaming around. Sorry, The Satomobile.
Is energybending going to factor into this series more than any before? Jordan thinks so and Katie pitches that the Big Angry Square (a.k.a. The Anomaly) may actually be Nisha and Pavi's parents! Is that an insane take? Who knows!

5. Seven Havens: The One Left Behind
Season 2, Episode 35
Show notes
Who is “The One Left Behind”? Is it Nisha, Pavi, or — as Katie puts it — literally everybody else in Ellora?
Jordan and Katie break down Book One: Survival, Chapter 5: The One Left Behind and the two of them love it, minus all the secrecy that’s stressing Katie out.
Jordan argues if Ellora is the "Survival Haven" associated with the Root Chakra, then he hopes Akasha is the “Pleasure Haven” which is… a stance.
Daemin’s poster shenanigans give Katie “Mulan” vibes and Jordan loves the balance of tension and humor in this episode, especially the Elderly Elloran Citizen.
This would have been Jordan’s favorite episode of the series thus far, had it not been for the most unbelievable scene in the Avatarverse he has ever seen: the food fight.

4. Seven Havens: The Faceless
Season 2, Episode 34
Show notes
The second batch of episodes for Avatar: Seven Havens has officially dropped and Katie and Jordan dive straight into Chapter 4: The Faceless.
Jordan does some deep dives and is late to the party figuring out the connection between the Root Chakra and Book One: Survival and Katie talks about the implications of "fear" in this episode.
Jordan just can't figure out how the Faceless see out of their unusually ornate masks and he and Katie accidentally call Daemin "Denim" before Jordan realizes his theme music is very familiar.
Katie says Pavi's character is a soothing balm and Jordan can't stop being paranoid about every single ally introduced to Team Avatar.
Jordan cold-calls their friend with knowledge about the Root Chakra, but who knows what he actually heard.

3. Seven Havens: The Order
Season 2, Episode 33
Show notes
The first batch of Avatar: Seven Havens episode is complete and... we finally have opening credits! Katie accuses Jordan of watching them "at least five times" but who knows!
Jordan proposes the theory that the Seven Havens are based on the Seven Chakras and Katie is counters with a theory that they're actually based on the Seven Wonders of the World.Katie says all Avatar Superfans need to own a kalimba like Pavi and Jordan struggles throughout the entire episode to play "Avatar's Love".
Jordan invites fellow official Nickelodeon-recognized Avatar Superfan Kendell Byrd to share her early thoughts on the show and Katie reminds Jordan of the time he ate/drank onion and banana juice before his time on the official "Braving the Elements" podcast.

2. Seven Havens: Into the Storm
Season 2, Episode 32
Show notes
Chapter 2: Into the Storm hits the ground running and doesn't let up!
We've got twin Avatars and Jordan, of course, is hoping that they're secretly triplets. Nisha is reminding Katie of Princess Jasmine from "Aladdin" and Jordan breaks down the Sanskrit origins of Pavi and Nisha's names.
Katie struggles with making sound effects with her voice and Jordan spends most of this episode analyzing every character's pupil shape. Spoiler alert: Pavi and Nisha's are different than everyone else.
Katie enjoys Pavi's character arc in this episode and her ability to confront her fears along with a friend.
Jordan throws out some wild theories about the origins of Pavi and Nisha and also pitches a correlation between "Into the Storm" and Avatar: The Last Airbender's pivotal episode "The Storm". Does it work? You be the judge!
Have any Seven Havens hot takes? Anything we got egregiously wrong? Are all the Airbender's descended from Aang? Send us your thinkin' to yipyiphooraypodcast@gmail.com and let's chat!

1. Seven Havens: On the Horizon
Season 2, Episode 31
Show notes
It's been 12 years since Korra ended and 225 years since she destroyed the world! Katie and Jordan stay up until way past their bedtime to catch the premiere of Avatar: Seven Havens as soon as it dropped, which was at the very specific time of 12:11 a.m. for some reason.
Tears were shed in the final moments of the premiere chapter "On the Horizon" and the back half of the episode sunk its hooks into Jordan, who is officially onboard, even if the animation is freaking him out a little bit.
Katie claims Geet is mostly cat, with very little monkey to be found (except opposable thumbs and a prehensile tail?) and Jordan still can't get over the domestic cat sounds Geet makes, but maintains that its way better than Naga ever was.
Jordan's ears pick up on an early Easter Egg from Book One: Water and feels like the smartest boy in the world.
Enjoy the latest/earliest podcast they've ever recorded and listen to their rapid descent into delirium towards the end!

Season 2, Episode 30
Show notes

The podcast is shifting focus to the newest series from Avatar Studios with Avatar: Seven Havens! Katie loves a twin story and Jordan admits twins stress him out, but is curious if this season will feature any "The Parent Trap" situations for our new twin protagonists Pavi and Nisha.
Katie admits she had no idea what Avatar: Seven Havens even was and Jordan admits he read some of the leaks on Reddit.
This new series has "Dune" vibes, a guy named Jae, and our first ever Cat-Monkeys! Join Katie and Jordan as they untangle a pair of trailers and prepare for the premiere of Avatar: Seven Havens!

Jessica is still really drawn to Azula and feels she gets done dirty in the finale and wishes her brother Zuko had more colors in his firebending. Katie discusses why Aang clings to his culture more than other Avatars. Jessica breaks down the old Avatars’ advice. Jessica and Katie pine for one more Azula scene. Yip yip!

Troy takes exactly two notes, namely how Toph still can't bend wood. Jordan repeats the very last word spoken in the series and it's perfect.

Calm Before the Comet
Season 1, Episode 27
Show notes

Jordan is still upset how the Moon is the original water bender and introduces a Yue theory. Jordan wishes Suki had been recruited at the beginning and realizes Earth Kingdom girls don’t mess around. Jessica feels Mai needed a proper apology from Zuko and Zuko should have also apologized to everyone for the Book Two finale. Katie seems to think having someone bloodbend you would be a relaxing experience. Jordan despises Whale Tail Island, so the group tries to rename it.

Season 1, Episode 26
Show notes
It's the calm before the comet! The Yip Yippers discuss Book Three chapters 16: The Southern Raiders and 17: The Ember Island Players. Katie forgets who Haru is. Jordan goes on a tirade about the Hama and Kya connection theory. Katie loves that Azula is unstoppable. Jordan is angry that no citizens of the Fire Nation can identify Zuko as a member of the royal family. Awkward seating shenanigans is Katie’s favorite moment in Ember Island Players. Troy discusses his issues with the theatre. Katie isn’t impressed Jordan finally realizes Ember Island Player’s three-act structure coincides with a season of Avatar. The Boiling Rock
Season 1, Episode 25
Show notes
Let's go to prison! This episode, we cover Book Three, chapters 14 and 15, "The Boiling Rock" Troy apparently hates the name “Boiling Rock” and would rather have Friends-style episodic titles like “The One Where Sokka Gets a Sword”. Jordan is curious about Zuko’s redemption. Katie loves the dynamic between Zuko and Sokka. Troy believes Azula had a “Powerpuff Girl” moment and is creeped out by The Warden. Katie loves Zuko trying to be wise and philosophical. Troy has trouble with today’s slang. Katie gives heart-eyes for Sokka’s heart-eyes. Everyone agrees Suki is fantastically hardcore. Troy and Jordan argue over gravity-defying stunts in these episodes. The Blu-Ray subtitles typo "hot squats" as "hop squats" but Jordan still wants to do them and feel the burn and addresses the single worst Sokka moment in the series. Katie thinks Boiling Rock would have made for a wild series finale.

Season 1, Episode 24
Show notes
Hello, podcast here. This episode, we cover a turning point in the series with Book Three, chapters 12: The Western Air Temple and 13: The Firebending Masters. Jordan goes on a scorched earth tirade about the eight-month hiatus between the original airing of Day of Black Sun and Western Air Temple. The gang talk Zuko’s job interview. Troy tries not to get distracted by Greg Baldwin as Iroh, because he wants to know more about Iroh before he became Dragon of the West. Katie announces Boomerang is MVP of Western Air Temple, but Jordan argues Toph is MVP of the episode, and pretty much 90 percent of all episodes. Troy wants to know Combustion Man’s name and Jessica wants to learn more about his backstory. Jordan is surprised with Katara’s final line of Western but Troy thinks it’s justified. Jordan is unimpressed with Aang’s regression in the episode. Troy picks up the real-world inspiration for the Dancing Dragon immediately. Jordan isn’t pleased with the end credit song sneaking into the show. Jessica is still holding out hope Cabbage Man is going to show up and announces her favorite character is Azula.

Troy still has difficulties pronouncing Toph’s name. Katie notices any Toph-centric episode always has some confrontation with Katara. Katie spots a super weird moment where Sokka and Aang foam at the mouth, Foam-at-the-Mouth-Guy style. Troy and Jordan argue about which bending discipline could bend wood. Troy has a new favorite villain. Jordan draws parallels between Hama and Aang. The crew dive into the ethics of advanced waterbending. Troy announces “This better not be a weird episode,” right before we watch “Nightmares and Daydreams”.
