One of the best movies we've reviewed in a while, Manhunter is the first of many adaptations of the Hannibal Lecter novels. It did poorly in the box office, but has had a resurgence as a well loved cult movie! Check out bonus YOMP content on Patreon https://www.patreon.com/yompcast

Manic follows a group of emotionally damaged teens in a psych ward and has a lot of heavy themes. It's most definitely NOT a fun one, but some viewers have really connected with the movie's uncomfortably honest depiction of mental illness.

It's another Arnie classic! Loosely based on a 1966 short story by Philip K. Dick, Total Recall is an awesome sci-fi action movie with some incredible practical effects and great hammy action.

It's the first of our Patreon submissions! Huge thanks to CaptainGrezza for submitting this movie that we probably never would have picked on our own, and for wonderfully articulating why you picked it!
This movie is an all-time British classic that is nostalgic for a lot of people who grew up with it, but as neither of us hold that nostalgia, how will it hold up?

Not the series, but the 1973 movie! Jurassic Park writer Michael Crichton's fascination with defective theme parks strikes again, exploring the kind of fantasies people will choose to live out in a world they control, and what happens when things go wrong. It's wild to see how well this movie predicted issues around AI today! Check out bonus YOMP content on Patreon https://www.patreon.com/yompcast

This one has a lot to dig into! It's a disturbing surrealist horror movie by Mexican director Alejandro Jodorowsky. Its absurd presentation does service to dark themes of parental trauma, innocence, and repression. This one is not for the faint of heart. Most importantly however, this movie scores great on Bouphe's bingo card!
