Does God Have a Plan for Your Future? (Jeremiah 29:11)
Show notes
Today's Bible Verse: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11
Are you wondering what God has planned for your future? When life feels uncertain, prayers seem unanswered, or your circumstances don’t match your expectations, it can be difficult to trust that God is leading you somewhere good. Jeremiah 29:11 offers a powerful reminder that God has plans to give His people hope and a future. But this promise was originally given to the Israelites during their exile in Babylon, a season of hardship and waiting. Their story reminds us that God’s plans are not always fulfilled on our preferred timeline, yet we can continue to trust His faithfulness even when we cannot see what lies ahead.

Where is Jesus in the Old Testament? (Luke 24:27)
Show notes
Today's Bible Verse:“And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.” — Luke 24:27
In Luke 24:27, Jesus explains the Scriptures to two disciples walking along the road to Emmaus after His resurrection. They were struggling to understand what had happened, but Jesus showed them how Moses and the Prophets pointed to Him. The Old Testament is not separate from the story of Jesus. It lays the foundation for understanding who He is, why He came, and how His death and resurrection fulfilled God's promises.

You Don't Have to Convince God to Care (Judges 11:29)
Show notes
Today's Bible Verse: "Then the Spirit of the Lord came on Jephthah. He crossed Gilead and Manasseh, passed through Mizpah of Gilead, and from there he advanced against the Ammonites.https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Judges%2011&version=NIV" — Judges 11:29
Have you ever felt like you needed to prove your worth or convince God to care about your struggles? Judges 11:29 reminds us that God's presence and purpose aren't earned through human approval or personal achievement. Jephthah had experienced rejection and hardship, yet God worked through his life when the Spirit of the Lord came upon him. His story reminds us that our past and other people's opinions do not determine whether God can work through us.

Experience God's Extravagant Love (Romans 5:8)
Show notes
Today's Bible Verse: "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." — Romans 5:8
Have you ever wondered if you've done too much wrong to be fully loved by God? Romans 5:8 reminds us that God's love isn't something we earn through good behavior or perfect obedience. He demonstrated His extravagant love by sending Jesus to die for us while we were still sinners. God didn't wait for us to get our lives together before He made a way for us to be reconciled to Him.

Suffering for Doing Good (1 Peter 4:19)
Show notes
Today’s Bible Verse:
“So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.” — 1 Peter 4:19Peter offers a steadying truth for weary hearts: even in seasons of hardship, we’re not abandoned—we’re held by a faithful Creator who sees every step we take. This verse invites us to place our lives back into God’s hands, not with resignation, but with trust. And while the struggle may tempt us to shut down or pull away, Peter calls us to keep doing good—because suffering doesn’t get the final word. God’s faithfulness does.

What Does It Mean to Overcome the World? (1 John 5:5)
Show notes
Today's Bible Verse: "Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God." — 1 John 5:5
What does it mean to overcome the world as a Christian? First John 5:5 reminds us that victory isn't found in worldly success, personal strength, or having a life free from struggles. True spiritual victory comes through faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. When we believe in Him, we can stand firm against the pressures, temptations, and fears that pull us away from God.

Service Changes You | A Bonus Episode From "On The Ground with Samaritan's Purse"
Show notes
In this Bonus Episode of "On The Ground"| Service has the ability to radically change us. God can use serving others to mold and shape our hearts to look more like His. This is what happened in Angie’s life—a volunteer Kristy met while on the ground in Mississippi. Hear how the Lord is using Angie’s testimony to show others that they are never too far from Him.
Jason Taft, an assistant director with Samaritan’s Purse U.S. Disaster Relief, met Angie in Mississippi after a tornado tore through the southern part of the state. He was amazed by her skills on the skid-steer, but even more amazed by her story.
Angie has known about God her entire life, but she has not always walked with Him. Her upbringing was hard, and her adult life has been marked by many trials and disappointments. When twin tornadoes came through her town, Angie went out and served with U.S. Disaster Relief. She kept going back, day after day.
In her private life, Angie was in active alcoholism and plagued by grief. But when she was serving, she was not drinking. Angie continually cried out to the Lord for help. About a year later, God delivered her from alcohol.
Service was the catalyst that the Lord used to change Angie's heart. And now she gets to serve all over the country, using her abilities and sharing her story with homeowners and fellow volunteers. Angie tells Kristy about a particular moment on a deployment when her testimony blessed a room full of volunteers.
“And I believe that God is going to use all of us … And if people will just be brave enough to tell [their] story—it gets raw, but I'm living proof that God can do anything.” – Angie Polk

Today's Bible Verse: Cornelius stared at him in fear. “What is it, Lord?” he asked. The angel answered, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God.” — Acts 10:4
Do you ever wonder if God sees your faithfulness or hears your prayers? Acts 10:4 reminds us that God sees the quiet acts of obedience, generosity, and devotion that others may overlook. Cornelius's story shows that his prayers and generosity mattered to God, even before he fully understood what God was preparing to do in his life.

God Will Reward Your Faith (Hebrews 10:35)
Show notes
Today's Bible Verse: "So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded." — Hebrews 10:35
How do you keep trusting God when your faith is tested and the outcome feels uncertain? Hebrews 10:35 reminds us not to give up our confidence in God, even when following Him becomes difficult. Faith requires perseverance, especially when prayers seem unanswered or promises feel far away. We can remain steadfast because God is faithful, and our trust in Him is never wasted.

Why Does God Move So Slowly? (Exodus 14:21)
Show notes
Today's Bible Verse: "Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided." — Exodus 14:21
Why does God sometimes seem slow to act when we desperately need help? Exodus 14:21 reminds us that God's timing and methods may look different from what we expect. When the Israelites stood trapped between the Red Sea and the Egyptian army, God made a way forward that they could not have created on their own. What seemed impossible became the setting for God's power and faithfulness.

How to Trust God When You Need Extra Assurance (Judges 6:39)
Show notes
Today's Bible Verse:: "Then Gideon said to God, 'Do not be angry with me. Let me make just one more request. Allow me one more test with the fleece, but this time make the fleece dry and let the ground be covered with dew.'" — Judges 6:39
Judges 6:39 shows Gideon asking God for reassurance before moving forward, revealing how easily fear and uncertainty can make us question what God is asking us to do. Even when our faith feels weak, we can bring our doubts and fears honestly to God and ask Him for the wisdom and confidence we need to move forward.

Why We Need a Childlike Faith (Matthew 18:3)
Show notes
Today's Bible Verse: "And he said: 'Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.'" — Matthew 18:3
What does it mean to have a childlike faith? Matthew 18:3 reminds us that following Jesus requires humility, trust, and a willingness to depend on God rather than ourselves. Childlike faith isn't about being immature or unquestioning—it means recognizing our need for God and trusting Him with the dependence and humility of a child.
