Ze Shows – Anime Pulse

Revisits galore are abound. This is what happens when someone has done as many reviews as we have. At this many episodes we have this means we’ve done at least a thousand. We’re being generous based on overlaps and reasons we would have doubled up. Even if we hadn’t, just round up and say a thousand for us because we’re so great. Tim has a revisit of Code Geass and this time going through the first and second volume. It’s our old future of 2010 or maybe 2011. The empire of Britainia exists and rules the world. Lelouch is four hundredth in line and living in what used to be …

Did you know there’s a new Resident Evil movie out? And it’s directed by Zach Cregger who did the movie Weapons! So you know what that means. We’re doing two manga so that’s entirely unrelated. Unless maybe you count the fact we’re doing revisits which is kind of like rising from the grave. Yeah, so it’s like zombie manga. That’s the connection. We can make it all come around on a long enough timeline. Tim has Durarara. This time it’s the first two volumes. We have a large cast of colorful characters that’s very rushed in the first volume. It’s officially Fall. It’s still pretty warm around us, hitting the high eighties and low nineties. But we’re seeing the leaves change and hoodies come out of storage. What if you were a cop but racist? That’s the bold thought experiment that Hollywood dared to ask with the movie Heart Condition(1990). But, stay with us here, what if he were a likable schlub who learned the error of his ways? So you cast Bob Hoskins as a cop who gets a heart transplant from Denzel Washington who now haunts Hoskins. Also they were both in love with the same prostitute who used to have a heroin problem. Nothing you haven’t seen before. Next up is Tim with The Runner[2026]. By now you’ve probably heard about Dolly Parton’s passing. She was very big on getting children into reading and reducing illiteracy. In that case we’re going to continue to promote literacy by reviewing manga. That may sound completely disconnected but we’ve go nothing in the tank this week.
