The man behind G-Rex Bows joins the Buzz.

This week on the Bowfishing Buzz, Mathew and D-Schmidty sit down with Joey Greenwell — the builder, machinist, and bowfishing junkie who turned a crowded basement shop into one of the most respected lever-bow operations in the game.

We rewind the tape to Joey’s early bowfishing days, talk about squeezing machines into a basement workspace, cutting down walls to make room for more lathes, and what it really takes to quit your job and chase the American dream in manufacturing. From humble beginnings to the partnership with MegaMouth Bowfishing, this one’s about grit, growth, and building bows that flat-out perform.

We also break down big changes to the 2026 AMS Big 20 Challenge:

• First place adjusted from $10,000 to $7,500 to spread payouts deeper
• Buffalo limit reduced from 10 to 5 to tighten up weights and increase competition
What does it mean for strategy? For teams chasing checks? We dig into it.

Then things get… uncomfortable.

Mathew shares his now-infamous Oklahoma City “Bubble Gut” incident — featuring a desperate sprint, an Omni hotel lobby restroom, and the worst possible toilet paper scenario. Yes. It’s as bad as it sounds.

Kranky the Carp calls in with underwater intel.
We relive the heartbreak of the Big Fish That Got Away.

And of course… it wouldn’t be complete without Fish You Wish — where the fish gets bigger, the stories get wilder, and someone’s definitely stretching the truth.

From basement builds to bathroom battles… this one’s loaded.
