149 - How to Turn One Video Into a Week of Social Media Content
Season 4, Episode 149
Show notes
Want a time-saving video workflow? Borrow the one I use for my podcast, which recently went to video.
In this solo episode, I walk you through how my podcast workflow evolved from audio-only publishing to producing video episodes and social clips. I share the tools and steps I use to record, edit, distribute, and repurpose, so you can save time too.
I’m using my podcast as the example, but this workflow works for any video you record, from a live training to a quick talking-head video.
Top Takeaways
🔹 Riverside is still where everything starts, and its Find Fluff feature flags false starts and repeats for review.
🔹 Download two versions: one with captions for the podcast episode and one without captions for Opus Clip.
🔹 Intros and outros get added to the captioned version in Camtasia before it goes out to Apple, Spotify, and YouTube.
🔹 Opus Clip ranks every clip on four things: the hook, the flow, the value, and the trend.
🔹 Clips can be published straight from Opus Clip, with no downloading and re-uploading to a scheduler.
🔹 Posting to LinkedIn manually means being around to engage with anyone who comments.
🔹 The transcript becomes the basis for more content.CHAPTERS

148 - 3 Things Holding You Back On Video (They're Probably Not What You Think)
Season 4, Episode 148
Show notes
When video feels hard, it’s usually not one big problem. It comes down to one of three things, sometimes two, sometimes all three.
In this solo episode, I share the three things my clients struggle with: confidence, strategy, and technique. I walk through what each one looks like and what you can do about it, for solo business owners and teams.
Top Takeaways
🔹 Getting comfortable on camera is a muscle you build by doing, not something you’re born with.
🔹 You don’t need to be a neurosurgeon to teach someone how to change a bandage. Know 10% more than the people you teach.
🔹 Strategy comes down to the who, what, and why: who it’s for, what type of video, and why you’re making it.
🔹 Your goal decides the video: templates for visibility, tips for trust, perspective and insight to convert.
🔹 Technique isn’t about being an expert editor. It’s about choosing the right approach for the video.CHAPTERS

01:24 Confidence: feeling awkward on camera and the BOCA strategy
03:31 Confidence: feeling like you don’t know enough

147 - Stop Overthinking Your Videos: This Is What Your Audience Really Wants
Season 4, Episode 147
Show notes
All that time and energy you spend trying to create perfect video is an absolute waste. The people watching your videos don't want perfect; they want content that's relevant to them.
In this solo episode, I share what viewers want from your videos: tips, techniques, insights, new perspectives, etc., that will help them solve a problem they have. They don't care what you look like or sound like. All they care is if your message is relevant to them.
Top Takeaways
🔹Many creators overthink their video production.
🔹Audiences prioritize understanding and trust over perfection.
🔹Short, focused videos are more effective.
🔹One tip or insight per video keeps content engaging.
🔹Your audience cares about relevance, not your appearance.
🔹Mindset shift: It's about the message, not you.
🔹Consistency in video creation builds confidence.
🔹You don't need to be an expert to teach others.
🔹Creating content with purpose is crucial.CHAPTERS

146 -Before You Make Your Next Video, Answer These 3 Questions
Season 4, Episode 146
Show notes
When people find out I teach video, they assume that means recording, editing, and getting comfortable on camera. And it does. But there's a second thing I do that surprises people every time: I help them figure out what videos to make, who they're for, and what they're supposed to accomplish.
In this solo episode, I walk through the difference between video strategy and video production, the three questions to answer before you hit record, what strategy work looks like with real clients, and how to tell whether your problem right now is production or strategy.
Top Takeaways
🔹 Production is a skill. Strategy is a set of decisions. You need both, but they're not the same thing.
🔹 Answer three questions before you record: What type of video? Who is it for? Why this video?
🔹 If the only answer to "who is this for" is "people with eyes," that's a strategy problem, not a production problem.
🔹 Your goals decide your video type. Your video type decides your production needs, not the other way around.
🔹 Stuck on what to talk about, or posting with no results? More gear won't help. That's strategy.

Season 4, Episode 131
Show notes
Most people want to show up on podcasts, speak on stages, or create video content—but they hesitate because they’re worried about how they sound, how they look, or whether they’ll mess up.
In this episode, I chat with radio veteran and communication coach Royce Blake, Voice of Royce, about what actually makes someone compelling on camera, on stage, or behind a microphone. Instead of focusing on gear or production, they break down the real skill: learning how to communicate with confidence by getting comfortable with yourself.
Takeaways

🔹How recording yourself builds confidence faster than anything else
🔹Common mistakes (filler words, overthinking, chasing perfection)
🔹Using pauses, pacing, and presence to sound more confident
🔹How to prepare for podcasts or speaking without over-preparing
🔹Simple techniques to manage nerves and adrenaline

Video marketing is no longer a nice-to-have, which is why most businesses (91%) use video as a marketing tool according to Wyzowl's State of Video Marketing 2026. And 24% of those who don't say the reason is that it's too expensive.
