  1. Can Nature Help Save the Climate?

    Season 1, Episode 1

    Show notes

In this show, we explore how protecting biodiversity can help address the climate crisis and build a more sustainable future for people and nature.

We speak with Moisés Expósito-Alonso, a UC Berkeley assistant professor of global change biology, about how genetic diversity helps plants and animals adapt to climate change and why protecting it is key to preventing extinctions.

Then, Marce Gutiérrez-Graudins, founder and executive director of the Latino-led ocean conservancy non-profit Azul, tells us why protecting the ocean also means protecting the people whose lives and livelihoods depend on it.

Finally, in the Solutions Corner, Rebecca Johnson (California Academy of Sciences) shares how you can help protect nature right in your own neighborhood.
