China Is Quietly Becoming North Korea 2.0
Episode 15
Show notes
For 40 years China's promise was "reform and opening up". Xi Jinping told the world China's door would only open wider. That's the boast. This video is about the bill.
In 2026 China brought in its toughest exit rules in decades, in force from 15 September. People are rushing to get passports before it's too late. State employees report their passports being collected. Travellers with valid visas describe being turned back at the airport.
Why would a rising superpower stop its own people from leaving? Because they are leaving: money, talent and the rich, all heading for the exit. A system confident in its future lets people go. A system that fears its future locks the door.
The verdict is on the arrangement. China isn't North Korea. But the model now has to hold people in to keep going, and that's the direction North Korea took.

China: The Country Where Millions Will Never Marry China: The Country Where Millions Will Never Marry
Episode 13
Show notes
China's state planners told the world the one-child policy was a triumph that prevented hundreds of millions of births and powered China's rise. That's the boast. This video is about the bill.
Families wanted sons. Tens of millions of girls were never born. Today China has tens of millions more men than women, mostly poor and rural. At the same time, millions of educated women in the cities can't find a husband. The state even gave them a name: "leftover women".
Two groups, both single, who will never meet. Marriages are falling fast. Without weddings there are no babies, and without babies the population shrinks.
Now the same government that limited births begs people to marry and have children, and almost no one listens.
The verdict is on the policy, not the people. Beijing engineered its population for 35 years and got the result it built.

Iran’s Economy Is So BAD — Its Own Police Are Selling Their Kidneys
Episode 13
Show notes
Iran's leaders call it a "resistance economy": sanctions and war can't break it. That's the boast. This video is about the bill.
The rial has crashed to around 2 million to the dollar and has lost roughly 60% of its value since March. Food prices are soaring. Bread lines are appearing. And the people saying it most clearly aren't protesters. They're the regime's own police, on camera, saying their salary doesn't last the month and they can't afford milk.
That matters. Authoritarian regimes pay their enforcers well so they never have a reason to waver. When the men with the guns start complaining, the arrangement is breaking.
Here's the trap: Iran's oil income reportedly rose during the war. The money is coming in, and ordinary Iranians are still getting poorer.
The verdict is on the regime's economic model, not on Iranians and not on Islam. Iranians are the ones paying the bill.

Xi Just Stole All China's Rich People's Money
Episode 12
Show notes
China's wealthy spent years moving money into offshore trusts, their last safe harbor from the CCP. Now Beijing has shut that door with a new rule. Assets get taxed the moment they enter a trust, and the trust's earnings get taxed at 20% every year, whether or not the owner ever receives a cent. The video explains why the regime is doing this now: the economy is struggling, tax revenue is drying up, and squeezing the rich is the fastest fix. It also argues the move will backfire by driving even more wealth and people out of China.

Something BAD Is Happening to India's Capital
Episode 8
Show notes
Yuvraj Mehta, 27, worked in Gurugram and was driving home on the night of January 16 when his car fell into a deep, water-filled pit near a construction site in Noida's Sector 150. He climbed onto the roof of the sinking car and called for help, using his phone's flashlight to signal where he was. Police and fire teams arrived by about 12:50am, state disaster teams at 1:15, and the national disaster force at 1:55. He shouted for help for roughly 90 minutes before going silent. A delivery rider said the responders refused to go in because the water was too cold and full of iron rods. The rider, a Flipkart delivery agent, went in himself with a rope around his waist. He was too late.

China ENGINEERED a National DISASTER
Episode 7
Show notes
For twenty years, China did something no country in history had ever attempted.
It built entire cities almost overnight. High-speed rail crossed thousands of kilometres. Skyscrapers appeared where villages had stood only years earlier. Between 2011 and 2013 alone, China consumed roughly 6.4 gigatons of cement — substantially more than the United States used throughout the entire twentieth century.
But there was a problem hidden inside that achievement.
China could build faster than almost anyone could produce some of the materials required to build properly.
And eventually, the numbers stopped making sense.
In Shenzhen, inspectors discovered suppliers using inadequately processed sea sand in concrete. Salt trapped inside concrete can penetrate toward reinforcing steel, triggering corrosion that expands from within and eventually cracks the surrounding structure.
The problem became serious enough that dozens of concrete suppliers were investigated and construction was temporarily stopped on projects including what would become the Ping An Finance Center.
Then engineers studying China's enormous high-speed rail expansion raised another uncomfortable question.
China was constructing thousands of kilometres of railway every year, yet researchers warned that the available supply of high-quality fly ash — an important ingredient in some high-performance concrete — was nowhere near sufficient to meet demand at that scale.
The railway didn't collapse. China's high-speed system remains one of the largest and busiest on Earth.
But that may actually be the more interesting story.
Poor concrete does not necessarily fail immediately.
A structure can pass inspection, look perfectly normal and operate for years while corrosion or premature degradation progresses invisibly inside it.
Then there is Ocean Flower Island.
Evergrande spent billions creating an enormous artificial island off Hainan filled with hotels, attractions and tens of thousands of homes. Years later, residents began publishing images and complaints describing cracking concrete, deteriorating columns and heavily corroded reinforcement in relatively young buildings.
Taken individually, these incidents can be explained as separate construction problems.
Together, they expose something much larger.
China's construction boom demanded buildings, bridges, railways and entire cities faster than the supply chain could comfortably provide the materials required to build them.
The engineering itself wasn't fake.
China genuinely developed world-class construction technology and created infrastructure at a scale few countries could replicate.
The vulnerability was the system surrounding it.
When development became the economic engine, contractors faced enormous pressure to build faster, cheaper and on a scale the world had never seen before.
And concrete has an unusual property that makes that dangerous.
Mistakes can remain invisible for decades.
China's great infrastructure boom therefore created an experiment whose final result may only now be beginning to appear:
What happens when a country builds faster than its materials can keep up?

Somthing BAD Is Happening to Moscow
Episode 6
Show notes
In July 2020 Putin launched a big new unit at Moscow's only oil refinery. He gave the start command himself, by video link. The cost was 98 billion rubles, which was roughly 1.4 billion dollars at the time. That figure comes from TASS's headline. He said the new unit would let the refinery supply the capital region's petrol stations and airports steadily and without interruption.

China FAKED its Success.. It Was All LIE!
Episode 4
Show notes
For twenty years, China appeared to have discovered a formula the rest of the world couldn't match.
Entire cities seemed to rise almost overnight. China built the world's largest high-speed rail network, became the factory floor of the planet, dominated industries from steel to solar panels, and eventually began challenging the West in electric vehicles, batteries, robotics and artificial intelligence.
The numbers seemed to confirm the story.
But by 2026, something strange is happening.
On September 15, China released its latest economic data. Industrial production was still growing by 5.2%. High-tech manufacturing was growing by 16.7%. Exports were booming.
Yet Chinese consumers were barely spending more than they had a year earlier. Retail sales in August increased just 0.4%. Fixed-asset investment had fallen 7.2% in the first eight months of the year. Private investment was down 10.1%. And investment in real estate — the sector that once powered an enormous part of China's expansion — had collapsed almost 20%.
This video investigates the uncomfortable possibility behind those numbers:
China's economic miracle was real — but the image it created may have hidden how fragile the system underneath it had become.

Something UNSTOPPABLE Is Wiping North Korea Off the Map
Episode 3
Show notes
North Korea is disappearing — not from war, not from revolt, but from a demographic collapse Kim Jong Un cannot command away. He has already cried on camera and begged women to have more children. They are refusing. After the 1990s famine, North Korean women became the real economy. A child now means losing the market stall that keeps a family alive. Fertility has fallen below replacement. More people die than are born. The army is shrinking. Recruits are shorter. Elite units farm their own parade grounds. The nuclear program is hunting teenagers because the trained generation is running out. South Korea, Japan, and China can offset aging with robots and money. North Korea cannot. The most controlled country on Earth is being erased from the inside — and even a nuclear dictator cannot reverse the math.
