Jackalope Tales – You Bought Our Album, We Found Your Home
Show notes
Ever wonder what happens when musicians flip the script and become the stalkers? In this episode, Charles dives into the twisted tale of Phil Spector and Ronnie Spector, while Lisa shares how Taylor Swift took fan surprises to a whole new level—yes, she literally visited fans’ homes! 🎤🏠

Jackalope Tales – The Mob Wore Your Merch
Show notes
They bought the albums. They wore the shirts. They followed every move. Then they grabbed their digital pitchforks and decided their favorite musicians needed to be publicly executed… one comment at a time. 🔥💀
This week, Charles and Lisa dive headfirst into the toxic dumpster fire of social media, exploring musicians who’ve been bullied, harassed, threatened, and trolled so relentlessly that they’ve either limited their online presence or rage-quit the internet altogether.
From keyboard warriors to death threats, apparently being a fan now comes with the right to psychologically destroy your favorite artist from the comfort of your toilet. 🚽📱The mob wants blood. The algorithm wants engagement. And somewhere, a musician just wants to post a picture of their damn cat.
Welcome to Jackalope Tales — where the comment section is scarier than the music industry itself. 🤘 – [Ep 161]Become a J-Lope and follow us on social media. You can find us on Facebook, Instagram, X.com, TikTok, and check out our YouTube page for more exclusive content!

Jackalope Tales – Kraft, Mac & Cheese 🧀
Show notes
This week, Charles and Lisa serve up a steaming bowl of celebrity controversy, political outrage, and two musicians who probably won’t be exchanging Christmas cards anytime soon.
First, Macklemore finds himself in hot water when New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft decides he’d rather keep him out of his stadium. Apparently, you can tackle a man into a concussion on national television, but controversial opinions? That’s where we draw the line. 🏈💀
Then there’s Ed Sheeran, who’s managed to get himself tangled up in the controversy, proving once again that even the world’s most harmless-looking ginger isn’t immune to a public shitstorm.
From stadium bans to celebrity backlash, we’re stirring the pot until the cheese curdles. Kraft, Mac & Cheese: It’s politically incorrect, slightly offensive, and best served with a side of outrage. 🧀🔥 – [Ep 160]

Jackalope Tales – Stalk Dirty To Me
Show notes
The Jackalope Tales stalker series creeps back out of the bushes! 🌳👁️
Charles dives into Harry Styles’ terrifying lesson in why sometimes being a decent human being can go horribly, horribly wrong. Apparently, offering kindness to a homeless stranger can lead to less “pay it forward” and more “why is this person outside my house?” 🏠😬
Then Lisa tackles Adam Levine of Maroon 5, whose disturbingly sexy “Animals” video attracted exactly the kind of fan response you’d expect after rolling around half-naked in fake blood. 🩸 Soon, Levine was receiving gifts that were less fan mail and more evidence locker. 🎁🚔
Lock the doors, close the blinds, and for God’s sake stop making eye contact with strangers. 🔒👀
Stalk Dirty To Me — because sometimes your biggest fan is also the reason you bought a Ring camera. 📹😳 – [Ep 158]

Jackalope Tales – CEASE & DEEZ NUTS
Show notes
Buc-ee’s has clean bathrooms, brisket sandwiches, 147 gas pumps…and apparently a legal department fueled entirely by spite.
This week on Jackalope Tales, Charles and Lisa dive into Buc-ee’s reputation for fiercely protecting its beaver empire, including cease-and-desist letters aimed at musicians who get a little too close to the sacred rodent.
And then the unthinkable happens: Jackalope Tales gets one too.
Will Charles and Lisa back down? Will the beaver crush the jackalope? Or will this entire episode become Exhibit A?

Jackalope Tales – DROP IT LIKE IT’S HOT
Show notes
This week on Jackalope Tales, Charles and Lisa plunge headfirst into one of music’s most important unanswered questions: Can a sound frequency actually make you crap your pants?
We’re digging into the infamous Brown Note—the mythical low frequency supposedly capable of turning your digestive system into an emergency evacuation route. Is it scientifically possible? Just an urban legend? Or did the government discover it decades ago and immediately file it somewhere between UFOs and “things we absolutely did not test on civilians”?
Charles and Lisa investigate musicians and sonic mad scientists who have actually tried to find the legendary frequency, blasting audiences with bowel-rattling bass in pursuit of the ultimate musical achievement: a note that requires a change of pants.
Turn up the subwoofer. Question everything. And whatever you do… never trust a bass player with a frequency generator.

Jackalope Tales – I Saw Her Standing There… Again
Show notes
Jackalope Tales kicks off its Stalker Series, because apparently Beatlemania wasn’t creepy enough the first time around.
Lisa dives into the strange tale of Yoko Ono’s relentless pursuit of Paul McCartney—showing up, making requests, and eventually finding herself with a completely different Beatle. When one door closes, apparently you just keep knocking until John Lennon answers.
Then Charles takes things somewhere much darker with the terrifying night George Harrison was attacked inside his own home by an intruder who believed the former Beatle was somehow connected to The Phantom Menace. Yes, George survived the ’60s, the Maharishi, and the breakup of the Beatles…only to nearly be taken out by a guy with some extremely complicated feelings about Star Wars.
It’s obsession, intrusion, Beatles, and absolutely catastrophic boundary issues.

Jackalope Tales – HIT THE ROAD JACK!
Show notes
Opening for a major artist is supposed to be your big break. Unless, of course, the headliner decides your big break should involve packing your crap and getting off the tour bus.
This week on Jackalope Tales, Charles and Lisa dig into the wonderfully dysfunctional world of opening acts who got FIRED. Charles tells the story of Eric Church opening for Rascal Flatts — and apparently committing the unforgivable crime of putting on a show that was a little too Eric Church. Rules were broken. Tempers flared. Church got the boot. Somewhere, a tour manager developed acid reflux.
Lisa brings us the strange tale of Kristen Young and Morrissey, where things allegedly went south after Morrissey became convinced Kristen had brought a cold onto the tour. Because when you’re Morrissey, even a respiratory virus needs a villain. One minute you’re living your dream, opening for your musical heroes. The next you’re standing behind an arena with your luggage while the tour bus disappears over the horizon and Morrissey is inside disinfecting a doorknob.
Hit The Road Jack! — an episode about bruised egos, broken rules, bad blood, runny noses, and the harshest words an opening act can hear:
“Thanks for everything. We changed the locks on the bus.”Jackalope Tales, Where getting fired is tragic… unless it happened to somebody else. – [Ep 155]

Jackalope Tales – Buc Around & Find Out
Show notes
What happens when live music invades the sacred fluorescent kingdom of Buc-ee’s? Apparently, nothing good.
This week on Jackalope Tales, Charles and Lisa hit the highway for an episode fueled by brisket, Beaver Nuggets, questionable decisions, and musicians who dared to bring live music dangerously close to America’s cleanest bathrooms.
Charles tells the story of Keith Urban, who performed at a Buc-ee’s and turned out to be the perfect honorary employee—friendly, professional, hardworking, and presumably capable of pointing you toward Pump #147 without breaking eye contact. Keith wasn’t the problem. His fans were. What seemed like a fun little concert quickly demonstrated why combining a superstar, a gas station, and several thousand excited humans might be a worse idea than gas-station sushi in August.
Lisa brings the tale of an Austin band that was told they couldn’t perform at Buc-ee’s. So they respected that decision like mature adults…by moving next door, setting up their gear, and playing anyway. Because nothing says Texas diplomacy quite like, “Fine. We’ll be six feet off your property line.”
It’s music. It’s mayhem. It’s passive-aggressive busking with access to 120 gas pumps.
Grab a bag of Beaver Nuggets, find the cleanest stall in America, and prepare to…BUC AROUND & FIND OUT.

Jackalope Tales – Poopin’ In The Pit
Show notes
Concert etiquette is officially dead…and apparently someone crapped on the grave.
This week on Jackalope Tales, Charles and Lisa dive ass-first into the disturbing new frontier of live music: people pooping at shows. 💩 Charles investigates the infamous Devilskin concert incident, where one fan allegedly decided the pit needed a little more movement than usual.
Meanwhile, Lisa explores the dedication of Olivia Rodrigo fans who reportedly use Depends so they don’t have to surrender their hard-earned spots. Because nothing says GUTS World Tour like making a decision your lower intestine will remember forever.
So lace up your Docs, hold your nose, and whatever you do…watch where you mosh.

Jackalope Tales – Crock of Shit
Show notes
This week, Charles and Lisa dig into the unholy little mess that erupted when Charley Crockett’s camp dropped satanic doo-wop duo Twin Temple from a run of shows—and somehow turned an opening-act change into a musical culture-war casserole.
Was it the Satanism? The backlash? A booking screw-up? Or did somebody finally read Twin Temple’s bio after signing the contract?
Jackalope Tales sorts through the controversy, the finger-pointing, and the beautiful absurdity of booking a band whose entire aesthetic screams SATAN and then apparently becoming concerned about all the Satan.
Charles and Lisa also investigate the only logical explanation: Charley Crockett’s booking agent may actually be the real Satanist, desperately trying to earn enough infernal merit badges to get promoted out of Hell’s regional office.
Grab your pitchfork, polish your bolo tie, and join us for “Crock of Shit”—an episode about country music, Satanic panic, bad decisions, and the eternal lesson that sometimes you really should Google the opening band first. – [Ep 152]

Jackalope Tales – FULL METAL JACKALOPE
Show notes
Somehow, Jackalope Tales blew up in Vietnam—which either means we’ve finally gone international or someone in Hanoi left Spotify running overnight.
So naturally, Charles and Lisa packed their bags and headed to Vietnam to meet the people responsible for this terrible lapse in judgment.
In “Full Metal Jackalope,” we recount our journey into the heart of our newest fanbase: a plane trip long enough to make us question the invention of aviation ✈️, food that occasionally required us to ask “Which part of the animal is this?” 🍜, and encounters with some seriously cool Vietnamese punk bands who proved that distortion, sweat, and questionable life choices require no translation. 🤘🇻🇳
We crossed the International Date Line, lost track of what day it was, ate things that may have looked back at us, and discovered that apparently Jackalope Tales has fans 8,000 miles away.Vietnam survived a lot.
Now it has survived Charles and Lisa.

Jackalope Tales – Whose Line Is It Anyway?
Show notes
Did your favorite band write that brilliant lyric… or just “borrow” it while nobody was looking? This week, Charles and Lisa dig through rock’s musical crime scene, uncovering the bands that lifted lyrics word-for-word from other songs. Some did it as a heartfelt tribute. Others did it because apparently their lawyers needed something to do.
From clever Easter eggs that made fans smile to lawsuits that made accountants smile, we follow the lyrical fingerprints left all over music history. Was it homage? Theft? Or just the world’s longest game of copy-and-paste?
Join us as we put the suspects in the lineup, cross-examine the evidence, and sentence the guilty to community service… opening for Nickelback.

Jackalope Tales – You Gotta Keep’em Overrated
Show notes
This week on Jackalope Tales, Charles blindsides Lisa with a hit list of bands the internet has convicted of the ultimate musical crime… being overrated
Will they defend the sacred cows? Will they happily throw legendary bands into the musical wood chipper? Or will lifelong fanbases begin sharpening their pitchforks and typing in ALL CAPS?
Some of these picks are expected. Others are so controversial they may get us banned from your next backyard barbecue. So grab your favorite band shirt, prepare to be personally offended, and remember… just because a band sold 50 million records doesn’t mean they’re immune from being roasted.

Jackalope Tales – Rock, Paper, Lawsuit
Show notes
This week, Charles and Lisa dive headfirst into the glorious dumpster fire of bands suing other bands. From stolen riffs and borrowed lyrics to trademark tantrums and courtroom guitar solos, they uncover the rock stars who decided lawyers hit harder than drummers.
Because nothing says “rock ‘n’ roll forever” quite like a cease-and-desist delivered by certified mail. Grab your air guitar, hide your songwriting notebook, and remember… every great lawsuit starts with someone saying, “Hey… that was MY chord progression.” [Ep 147]

Show notes
This week, Charles and Lisa mosey straight into one of country music’s weirdest rabbit holes: the internet rumor that Garth Brooks is secretly a serial killer. From viral conspiracy theories to fans connecting dots with the enthusiasm of a detective who’s had way too much coffee, they dig into why this bizarre legend refuses to die.
Is there any truth to it? (Spoiler: rumors aren’t evidence.) Or is this just another case of the internet deciding that selling millions of records isn’t suspicious enough?
So grab your cowboy hat, keep your alibi handy, and remember… if someone asks where you were in 1997, you probably shouldn’t say, “At a Garth concert.” [Ep 146]

Show notes
This Fourth of July, Charles and Lisa light the fuse on America’s playlist and stand back. From songs that make you want to salute… to songs that make you want to defect, we’re counting down some of the best and worst musical tributes to the red, white, and bruised.
Expect patriotic anthems, embarrassing flag-waving, misunderstood classics, and enough musical explosions to make the neighborhood HOA file a complaint.
So grab a hot dog, hide your fireworks from Uncle Gary, and remember… nothing says “freedom” quite like arguing over whether Born in the U.S.A. is actually patriotic.

This week on Jackalope Tales, Charles and Lisa tumble headfirst into the musical multiverse to explore the strangest Mandela Effects lurking in songs, albums, band logos, and music history. From lyrics that never existed to album covers that seem to change when nobody’s looking, they’ll investigate whether our memories are broken… or if reality is quietly gaslighting us. 😵💫💿

Jackalope Tales – The Fathers, The Sons, & The Holy Notes
Show notes
The Fathers, The Sons, & The Holy Notes
This Father’s Day, Charles and Lisa gather the musical family tree and start a custody battle over who actually deserves credit for inventing your favorite genres. 🎸👨👦⚰️
Who is the Father of Techno? The Father of Death Metal? The Father of Ambient? The Father of Punk? More importantly, who got stuck paying decades of overdue child support for the noise they unleashed on the world?
Along the way, Charles and Lisa nominate their own questionable candidates, challenge the official histories, and discover that every genre’s origin story eventually leads back to someone with a bad haircut, a substance problem, or an overwhelming need to annoy their neighbors.
From visionary pioneers to accidental architects of chaos, we’ll celebrate the men who gave birth to entire musical movements—and the generations of weird sons who took those ideas, drove them off a cliff, and called it art.
So grab your dad, your stepdad, your record collection, and your unresolved issues. This Father’s Day we’re tracing the bloodline of music… one dysfunctional family at a time. 👨👦🔥🎶
Because behind every great genre is a proud father… and behind every terrible genre is a father who should’ve worn ear protection. [Ep 143]
