From Bounty Hunters to the Future of Housing
Episode 6
Show notes
In this episode, Ron and Shaun get into the stories behind Ron’s years in security—from protecting Dog the Bounty Hunter to nearly stepping into a tense moment at a Halifax bakery—and how selling his security company led him to a new mission: rethinking affordable housing.
Ron shares how Vida’s resident-led model puts people who live in its buildings at the center of the work. Residents can become building ambassadors, take on community contracting projects, and even join Vida’s planning sessions as employees. He also talks about the company’s pilot with Nunavut Housing and its plans to explore housing opportunities in the Northwest Territories.
Along the way, Ron and Shaun talk about Canada’s future, immigration, ambition, and the values that can bring people together across political divides. A conversation about building community, finding common ground, and making a difference close to home.

Traplines, Trade & the Power of a Handshake
Episode 5
Show notes
In this episode, Ron and Shaun sit down with Frank McKenna—the former New Brunswick premier, ambassador, and master relationship-builder. Frank shares how a few points scribbled on a napkin helped Ron find his confidence, why he thinks of connections as “traplines,” and how a shared love of baseball—and a remarkable family connection—helped turn tense moments in Washington into lasting relationships.
From the Meech Lake Accord and lessons in leadership to Canada’s search for swagger, Frank reflects on the choices he’d make differently, the advice he’d give young people, and why he believes it’s time to tear down interprovincial trade barriers. A conversation about friendship, boldness, and what it takes to build a stronger Canada.

The Secret Life of Shaun Majumder
Episode 4
Show notes
In this episode, Ron flips the script on comedian and actor Shaun Majumder. Shaun reveals his “dark secret” about where he was really born, growing up brown in a tiny white Newfoundland town, why nicknames like “Packy” and “Mowgli” weren’t as simple as they sound, and how tense nights in a small trailer and an awkward family reunion in Mississauga shaped the funny, driven performer we see today.
From Christmas concerts and cafeteria bombs, to Second City and stand-up, this is the real Shaun story.

Finding Canada's Mojo
Episode 2
Show notes
Two lifelong friends, comedian/actor Shaun Majumder and entrepreneur Ron Lovett, kick off their new show with a gloves-off conversation about Canada’s identity, confidence, and “mojo.” Why are Canadians so hesitant to celebrate success? How does tall poppy syndrome hold us back? And what would it look like if Canadians took their gloves off and went all-in on big ideas in business, community, and culture?
They trade stories from the entertainment industry and entrepreneurship, talk about raising a $300M fund, rejection, risk, and resilience, and set the stage for a podcast that will spotlight Canadians who are quietly doing world-class things—and need to get loud about it.
