She Played Supergirl. But Nothing Prepared Her for This Heartbreak | Laura Vandervoort
Episode 71
Show notes
You've seen her play a superhero, but nothing could have prepared Laura Vandervoort for some of the challenges she's faced in real life.
From Smallville and Bitten to stepping behind the camera as a director, Canadian actress Laura Vandervoort has spent nearly 30 years building an incredible career in Hollywood. But behind the success, she's navigated heartbreak, rejection, fertility struggles and unimaginable loss.
In this deeply personal episode of Miss Matched, Laura opens up about finding love with her husband Adam after years of dating the wrong people, meeting on Raya, freezing her eggs, undergoing multiple rounds of IVF and experiencing a devastating miscarriage.
She shares the emotional and physical toll of fertility treatments, the grief of losing a pregnancy, the importance of having a supportive partner and why she's speaking out to help other women feel less alone.
We also dive into her Hollywood journey, the pressure to be perfect as a young actress, learning to handle rejection and finding the confidence to take control of her career as a director.
And in an unexpected turn, the conversation becomes deeply personal for both of us as I open up about my own egg-freezing journey, my fears and the uncertainty of what lies ahead.
There are tears, laughter, vulnerability and a reminder that sometimes the strongest thing we can do is allow ourselves to feel everything.
This is one of the most vulnerable conversations I've had on Miss Matched, and one I hope reminds anyone navigating an unexpected chapter that they don't have to go through it alone.

She Made Partner at 31. Then Walked Away to Build Her Own Empire | Sunira Chaudhri
Episode 70
Show notes
What happens when the career you've worked so hard for no longer fits the life you want?
This week on Miss Matched, I sit down with Sunira Chaudhri, nationally recognized employment lawyer, media commentator and founder of Workly Law, to talk about ambition, failure, motherhood and betting on yourself.
From struggling through university and failing parts of the MCAT to discovering her natural strengths in law, Sunira's path to success was anything but straightforward. After becoming one of the youngest partners at her firm, she faced a life-changing decision: invest roughly $1 million to become an equity partner or take a chance on building her own business.
With a newborn at home, she chose herself.
Five years later, Workly Law is one of Canada's fastest-growing companies, and Sunira is sharing the lessons she learned along the way.
We get into navigating Bay Street's boys' club, building confidence, the power of networking, knowing when to walk away, and why sometimes the biggest career breakthrough comes from recognizing what you're naturally good at.
Because success isn't always about climbing the ladder. Sometimes it's about building your own.

This week on Miss Matched, I'm joined by Gina Livy, founder of The Livy Method, 11-time #1 bestselling author, and the woman behind a global wellness community.
But behind the success is a story of heartbreak, resilience, grief, and second chances.

And because this is Miss Matched, we're talking LOVE! Gina shares how she met her husband Tony on Match.com when she was ready to give up on dating, their year of Tuesday date nights, and what finding love again taught her about communication, compromise, and knowing your worth.

Is Age Just A Number? The Truth About Growing Older | Dr. Jane Barratt
Episode 68
Show notes
What if some of the most meaningful relationships of your life are with people decades older than you?
We spend so much time talking about finding love, but what about the love, wisdom and connections that grow stronger with age?
This week on Miss Matched, I'm joined by Dr. Jane Barratt, a global advocate for healthy aging who has worked with the World Health Organization and United Nations to challenge how society views growing older.
From ageism and the loneliness epidemic to soulmates, caregiving and finding purpose at every stage of life, Jane is challenging everything we think we know about aging.
We get personal about my relationship with my grandparents, the realities of caring for aging parents, why our healthcare system needs to do better, and what it really means to grow old with someone you love.
And yes, we talk about finding your soulmate, holding hands in the grocery store after 25 years together, and why it's never too late to chase another dream.
Because maybe the goal isn't to live longer. It's to add more life to the years we have.

I Didn't Know It Was A Date... With Gurdeep Ahluwalia
Episode 67
Show notes
We laughed. We cried. We reviewed Hinge.
Plot twist: Gurdeep Ahluwalia once asked me out… and apparently it was a date. So naturally, years later, I brought him onto the Miss Matched couch to unpack it.
We talk timing, why the “right person” can still come along at the wrong time, dating in your 40s, and why Gurdeep would rather stay happily single than settle for something that’s just… fine. And because I clearly couldn’t help myself, I pulled up his dating profile and gave him a few notes.
But this conversation goes somewhere much deeper, too.Gurdeep opens up about losing his dad, the incredible stories he learned about him after he was gone, and how grief has slowly shifted into gratitude. Four years later, he still thinks of him every single day — and hearing him talk about being grateful simply to have been his son is one of those moments that stays with you.
A very Miss Matched conversation.New episode with Gurdeep Ahluwalia out now.

Dad Is Back: Follow Your Kids’ Dreams, Not Yours
Episode 66
Show notes
My favourite person is back on the couch. And this time, I’ve got Dad all to myself.
If you know my dad, you know he loves two things fiercely: his family and sports. And growing up, those two things were almost impossible to separate.
We talk about the old-school lessons he learned playing hockey, the sacrifices our parents made to give my brother and me every opportunity, why kids need to learn how to lose, and the difference between pushing your child to succeed and pushing them toward your dream.
Sport taught me discipline. It taught me resilience. It taught me how to fail, get back up and try again. But looking back, I realize the biggest lesson came from my parents: give your kids every opportunity you can — and then let them decide how badly they want it.
Or, as Dad puts it: “Follow your kids’ dreams, not your dreams.”
My dad is back on Miss Matched — and somehow, he’s even wiser the second time around.

The Rick Campanelli You Never Knew | Fame, Addiction & The Secret Arrest
Episode 65
Show notes
For years, Canada knew Rick Campanelli as the guy with the mic, the backwards cap and a front-row seat to pop culture.
But there was another life happening when the cameras stopped rolling.
At the height of his career, Rick was hiding a gambling addiction, infidelity, mounting secrets — and an arrest in Las Vegas that almost no one knew about. In fact, when he returned to work at ET Canada, only four people knew what had actually happened. The story stayed buried for 17 years.
I thought I knew Rick. I worked alongside him for years. Then I read his memoir Tempted and realized I knew only one version of him.
This conversation is about the other one.
The fame. The temptation. The mistakes. The people he hurt. The woman who stayed. And what happens when the person everyone thinks has it all quietly loses control — and eventually has to find his way back.
Rick Campanelli, like you’ve never heard him before.

He Grew Up Watching AGT. Now He’s Competing on It | Kameron Marshall
Episode 64
Show notes
What happens when a dream you’ve been putting off suddenly becomes real?
Canadian magician Kameron Marshall joins Nicole Servinis on Miss Matched after earning four YESes on Season 21 of America’s Got Talent and advancing to the quarterfinals. But his journey to the AGT stage started long before the cameras were rolling. Kameron shares how a Grade 8 teacher first introduced him to magic, why he eventually wrote “America’s Got Talent” on his whiteboard after years of telling himself he’d audition “one day,” and what it felt like to finally stand on the stage he grew up watching.
We get into the reality behind making magic look effortless: hours of practice, performing through nerves, recovering when a trick goes wrong, reading a room and developing confidence through repetition. Kameron also opens up about the period when he stopped doing magic altogether, what brought him back to the craft, and why remembering the reason he started changed his relationship with performing.
Plus, he shares the daily habits that keep him focused — including more than 1,200 consecutive days of journaling, rating his days, setting goals and holding himself accountable — and why he believes writing down what you want can actually change the way you pursue it.
And, of course, Kameron puts Nicole to the test with a card trick that leaves her completely speechless.
Can Kameron Marshall bring the AGT trophy home to Canada?
Tune into Youtube to see Kameron perform some magic on Nicole — and follow his journey as he heads into the America’s Got Talent live shows.

The Truth About Beauty Standards + Building a Beauty Brand | Lyndsay Craig
Episode 63
Show notes
Has social media changed beauty for the better — or created standards none of us can actually live up to?
This week on Miss Matched, Nicole sits down with beauty industry veteran and entrepreneur Lyndsay Craig to talk about how the beauty world has evolved after more than 20 years working behind the scenes with major brands. From kids shopping at Sephora younger than ever and the pressure of unrealistic beauty standards, to influencer and celebrity beauty brands, AI, K-beauty and the products actually worth the hype — Lyndsay gives us an insider's look at where the industry is headed.
Then, we get into the business of beauty. After spending years helping other brands launch and grow through her agency, Lyndsay Craig Beauty, Lyndsay decided to create something of her own. But the idea came from an unexpected and deeply personal place. After her son experienced a serious medical emergency and underwent multiple lifesaving surgeries at SickKids, something Lyndsay learned during his recovery stayed with her. Years later, combined with life as the mom of a young hockey player, that experience inspired Happy Squad — a Canadian personal care brand designed with young athletes and teens in mind. We talk about finding white space in a crowded market, the two-year product development process, the realities of entrepreneurship, trusting an idea enough to invest in it, and turning one of her family's darkest chapters into something with purpose.
PLUS: Lyndsay shares the beauty products she can't live without and her summer beauty dos and don'ts.
