The Alaska UAP Shootdowns – Objects Over the Arctic (2023)
Show notes
In February 2023, soon after the Chinese surveillance balloon incident, U.S. and Canadian forces detected several smaller unidentified objects over Alaska, the Yukon, and Lake Huron. Fighter jets intercepted and shot them down, including an object near Alaska flying at roughly 40,000 feet.
Although the events sparked intense UFO speculation, later assessments suggested the objects were most likely balloons or other conventional airborne devices. No public evidence showed extraordinary speed or technology, and the Alaska object was never definitively identified because recovery efforts failed to retrieve enough debris.

The Mojave Triangle Incident – Military Pilots Report a Giant Craft (2023)
Show notes
The "Mojave Triangle" became public in 2023 after military witnesses described enormous triangular lights seen over the Twentynine Palms training area in California. Some believed they were looking at a massive silent craft, but later records and imagery strongly supported a more conventional explanation: illumination flares used during military exercises. The case remains a useful example of how sincere witness testimony, nighttime perception, and incomplete information can create the impression of a structured UFO. While some details remain disputed, there is currently no confirmed evidence that a giant triangular craft was actually present.

The USS Kidd Drone Swarms – Who Surrounded the Warships (2019)
Show notes
In July 2019, several U.S. Navy destroyers off Southern California, including the USS Kidd, reported repeated encounters with unidentified aerial objects described in official records as UAVs or drones. The objects appeared over multiple nights, sometimes in groups, and remained close enough to trigger observation teams and counter-drone measures.
The available evidence suggests a real operational and security problem, but the identity of the operators has never been publicly confirmed. Possibilities include civilian drones, surveillance platforms, foreign intelligence activity, or several unrelated causes. The case is significant not because the objects displayed impossible technology, but because unknown aircraft were apparently able to approach advanced warships repeatedly without a clear attribution.

The USS Russell Triangle Videos – Lights Above the Fleet (2019)
Show notes
In 2019, U.S. Navy personnel aboard the USS Russell recorded night-vision footage showing bright triangular lights near naval vessels off Southern California. The video was later confirmed as genuine Navy footage and quickly became associated with claims of "pyramid-shaped" UFOs.
However, optical analysis suggests the triangular appearance may have been caused by bokeh, where out-of-focus lights take on the shape of a camera aperture. This could explain the geometry without proving the existence of triangular craft. The broader encounters around Navy ships remain more complicated, with possibilities including drones, aircraft, balloons, distant lights, or multiple unrelated phenomena.

The USS Omaha UAP Incident – Into the Pacific (2019)
Show notes
In July 2019, personnel aboard the USS Omaha tracked an unidentified, apparently spherical object off the coast of Southern California. Infrared footage shows the object moving above the Pacific before descending toward the apparent waterline and disappearing from view, prompting a sailor to say that it had "splashed."
The Pentagon later confirmed that the footage was recorded by U.S. Navy personnel and examined as part of official UAP investigations. However, the public video does not prove that the object actually entered the ocean or possessed "transmedium" capabilities. Possible explanations include drones, balloons, sensor limitations, or another unidentified airborne object. The incident remains unresolved because the available public data are incomplete.

Ryan Graves and the Cube-Sphere UFOs
Show notes
Former U.S. Navy pilot Ryan Graves has described repeated UAP encounters reported by aviators along the East Coast during 2014 and 2015, including a particularly unusual object said to resemble a dark cube inside a transparent sphere. One reported encounter brought such an object dangerously close to two F/A-18s in a military training area, turning the mystery into a serious flight-safety concern.
The public evidence, however, remains incomplete. The cube-sphere shape comes primarily from pilot testimony rather than released close-up imagery, and proposed explanations range from balloons and radar reflectors to drones, sensor effects, or other conventional objects. The case remains unresolved, highlighting the difference between a credible unexplained observation and proof of extraordinary technology.

The "GoFast" Video – Racing Above the Ocean (2015)
Show notes
In 2015, a U.S. Navy F/A-18 recorded the infrared video later known as GOFAST, showing a small unidentified object apparently racing above the Atlantic Ocean. The pilots reacted with excitement as their targeting system locked onto it, helping the footage become one of the most famous modern UAP recordings.
Later analysis, however, showed that the object's apparent speed may have been exaggerated by parallax, viewing geometry, and the rapid movement of the observing aircraft. The target may have been much higher above the ocean and moving far more slowly than it first appeared. Possibilities include a balloon, drone, conventional aircraft, or another unidentified object. The Pentagon confirmed the footage was authentic, but authenticity does not prove extraordinary technology.

The "Gimbal" UFO – Rotating Against the Wind (2015)
Show notes
In 2015, a U.S. Navy infrared targeting system recorded the mysterious object later known as GIMBAL. The footage shows an unidentified target that appears to rotate while pilots react with surprise, making it one of the most famous modern UAP videos. While some interpret the movement as evidence of unusual flight technology, others argue that infrared glare and sensor optics may explain the apparent rotation. The Pentagon later confirmed the footage was authentic, but the object's identity remains unresolved.

The USS Roosevelt Encounters – UFOs Along the East Coast (2014–2015)
Show notes
Between 2014 and 2015, U.S. Navy pilots operating from the USS Theodore Roosevelt reported repeated encounters with unidentified objects during training missions along the East Coast. Some appeared on radar, others were captured by infrared systems, leading to the famous GIMBAL and GOFAST videos. While the Pentagon later confirmed the footage was authentic, it did not identify the objects as extraterrestrial. The case remains important because it involved trained military witnesses, advanced sensors, aviation safety concerns, and unanswered questions about drones, balloons, sensor effects, classified technology, or genuinely unresolved phenomena.

Congress and the UAP Hearings – The New Transparency (2023–2024)
Show notes
In 2023 and 2024, UAP investigations moved directly into public congressional hearings, marking a major change in how the U.S. government discussed unidentified aerial phenomena. The July 26, 2023 House hearing featured former Navy pilots David Fravor and Ryan Graves alongside former intelligence officer David Grusch, who testified about military encounters, reporting barriers, excessive secrecy, and alleged hidden UAP-related programs.
Grusch's most dramatic claims involved alleged secret crash-retrieval and reverse-engineering activities, although he did not provide publicly verifiable evidence establishing those claims during the hearing. Fravor and Graves focused more heavily on firsthand aviation encounters and the need for safer, more reliable ways for military and commercial pilots to report unusual objects without stigma.
A second major House hearing on November 13, 2024 brought testimony from retired Rear Admiral Tim Gallaudet, former Defense Department official Luis Elizondo, former NASA official Michael Gold, and journalist Michael Shellenberger. Discussion again centered on government transparency, classification, national security, and allegations that important UAP information was being withheld from Congress and the public.
The hearings did not prove extraterrestrial visitation or confirm secret non-human technology. Their significance was institutional: UAP claims that once existed mainly on the cultural margins were now being discussed openly under oath in Congress, with lawmakers demanding better records, oversight, reporting systems, and access to classified information.

The Pentagon UFO Files – AATIP and Modern Disclosure
Show notes
From 2007 to 2021, a series of Pentagon-linked investigations brought UFOs—now increasingly called UAP—back into serious military and political discussion. One of the most important was the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, or AATIP, which examined unusual aerial encounters reported by military personnel.
The modern disclosure era accelerated when Navy pilots described objects showing unusual speed, acceleration, and flight behavior, while infrared videos from encounters such as the Nimitz "Tic Tac" case became public. The U.S. Department of Defense later confirmed that several widely circulated videos were authentic military recordings, even though the objects themselves remained unidentified.
Former officials and pilots argued that these incidents deserved scientific and national-security attention rather than ridicule. At the same time, critics noted that "unidentified" does not mean extraterrestrial and that sensor errors, distant aircraft, balloons, drones, and incomplete data can produce misleading impressions.
By 2021, UAP investigations had moved from secretive programs into official reports, congressional interest, and broader public debate. The Pentagon files did not reveal proof of alien visitation, but they marked a major shift: unexplained aerial encounters were now being treated as legitimate subjects for military investigation.

The Chilean Navy UFO Video – Official Disclosure
Show notes
In November 2014, a Chilean Navy helicopter recorded an unidentified object off the country's central coast using a military infrared camera. The crew tracked the object for several minutes but could not establish radio contact, and nearby radar reportedly did not confirm a corresponding aircraft.
The footage became especially mysterious because the object appeared to release large dark plumes into the atmosphere. Chile's official anomalous-aerial-phenomena investigators studied the case for nearly two years but initially could not identify the target, and the government later allowed the footage to become public.
Independent researchers proposed a more conventional explanation: a distant commercial airliner viewed from an unusual angle, with ordinary contrails appearing strange in infrared. If the object was farther away than the crew believed, its apparent absence from nearby radar and its unusual shape could also be explained.
The Chilean Navy case remains important because it shows the difference between authentic military footage and proof of extraordinary technology. Whatever the final explanation, it became a notable example of official transparency and serious investigation of an unexplained aerial event.

The Aguadilla Coast Guard Footage – UFO Into the Sea
Show notes
In April 2013, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection aircraft recorded an unidentified object near Rafael Hernández Airport in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Using a thermal camera, the crew tracked the target for several minutes as it appeared to move across the airport area and toward the coast.
The most dramatic interpretation of the footage suggests that the object entered the ocean without producing a visible splash, continued moving near or beneath the surface, then emerged and appeared to divide into two separate objects. This led some researchers to describe it as a possible transmedium craft capable of traveling through both air and water.
However, the video lacked reliable distance and altitude information, making the object's true size and speed difficult to calculate. A later official analysis concluded that the footage most likely showed two slow-moving airborne objects, possibly lanterns, whose apparent speed and water entry were created by parallax, camera movement, and changing infrared contrast.
The Aguadilla case remains controversial because the footage is authentic government sensor imagery, yet its interpretation is unresolved. It may show an extraordinary craft entering the sea, or an ordinary pair of objects transformed by perspective into something far more mysterious.

The Nellis UFO Footage – The Secret Nevada Encounter (1994)
Show notes
In 1994, mysterious footage allegedly recorded by a military tracking station at the Nellis Test Range showed an unidentified object moving through restricted Nevada airspace. The video appeared to come from sophisticated range equipment rather than a civilian camera, and operators could be heard attempting to follow a target they did not immediately recognize.
The object had no clearly visible wings, tail, cockpit, or conventional propulsion system. As the camera zoomed and changed position, its outline seemed to rotate or transform, sometimes appearing rounded and sometimes angular. Researchers later examined the recording frame by frame, but the lack of confirmed distance, altitude, and camera data made reliable estimates of its size and speed impossible.
Possible explanations included a balloon, helicopter, radar target, experimental drone, or classified aircraft. Nevada's military ranges were used to test secret aviation technology, so even range personnel may not have known the identity of every object operating nearby.
The footage was never conclusively authenticated or explained by the U.S. Air Force. It does not prove non-human technology, but it remains an intriguing visual case because a military-style tracking system apparently recorded an object whose identity has never been publicly established.

The Stephenville Radar Analysis – The Data That Proved It
Show notes
In January 2008, residents around Stephenville, Texas, reported brilliant lights, unusual formations, and what some believed was a massive silent craft moving through the night sky. Several witnesses also saw military jets operating nearby.
The U.S. Air Force initially denied having aircraft in the area, then later confirmed that F-16s had been conducting training exercises. This reversal increased public suspicion and encouraged researchers to examine Federal Aviation Administration radar records.
The data confirmed the presence of military aircraft and also revealed at least one unidentified target moving through the broader Stephenville region without a standard transponder signal. Its route and timing appeared broadly consistent with some eyewitness reports, though radar could not determine its exact shape, size, or origin.
The evidence did not prove that an extraterrestrial spacecraft crossed Texas. However, it showed that the sightings involved more than rumor or simple imagination. Known military traffic and an unidentified radar track were present during the same period.
The Stephenville case remains one of the most important modern radar-supported UFO incidents because eyewitness testimony, official military activity, and unexplained sensor data all converged on the same mysterious night.

The USS Nimitz "Tic Tac" Encounter – The Modern Military UFO (2004)
Show notes
In 2004, the USS Nimitz Carrier Strike Group detected unusual objects on radar off the coast of Southern California. These targets reportedly descended from extreme altitudes, stopped suddenly, and moved in ways that defied known aircraft capabilities.
Navy pilots Commander David Fravor and Lieutenant Commander Alex Dietrich were sent to investigate and encountered a smooth, white, wingless object shaped like a Tic Tac hovering above disturbed ocean water. The object had no visible engines, wings, exhaust, or control surfaces. When Fravor attempted to approach, it accelerated away almost instantly and later reappeared at the pilots' designated training point.
A second Navy crew later captured infrared footage of a similar object using an ATFLIR targeting system. Years later, the video was released publicly and confirmed by the U.S. Department of Defense as authentic Navy footage.
The Nimitz encounter became a turning point in modern UFO history because it combined trained pilot testimony, shipboard radar, airborne sensors, infrared video, and official acknowledgment—making it one of the most important UAP cases ever documented.

The O'Hare Airport UFO – Hovering Over Chicago (2006)
Show notes
In November 2006, multiple employees at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago reported seeing a dark, disc-shaped object hovering silently above one of the airport gates. Witnesses included baggage handlers, mechanics, supervisors, and other airline personnel who were familiar with normal aircraft operations.
The object reportedly remained motionless for several minutes before suddenly accelerating straight upward at incredible speed, disappearing into the cloud layer. Moments later, witnesses observed a perfect circular hole in the clouds where the object had passed, allowing sunlight to shine through before the opening gradually closed.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) acknowledged receiving reports but did not conduct a formal investigation, suggesting the cloud opening may have been a natural atmospheric phenomenon known as a fallstreak hole. However, many witnesses insisted the hole appeared only after the object shot into the clouds.
The O'Hare Airport incident remains one of the most credible modern airport UFO cases, distinguished by multiple trained aviation witnesses, a daylight sighting at a major international airport, and the mysterious circular opening left in the cloud layer.

The Rend Lake UFO Incident – Illinois Police Pursuit (2000)
Show notes
In January 2000, multiple police officers across southern Illinois reported chasing a massive triangular object that silently traveled over the region near Rend Lake. The craft was described as having three bright white corner lights and a faint red light in the center, moving slowly at low altitude without producing any engine noise.
The incident began when one officer spotted the object and radioed dispatch. As it continued across several counties, officers from different police departments independently reported the same craft, creating a coordinated timeline through real-time dispatch communications. Many witnesses believed they were observing a single enormous structured object, not separate aircraft.
Investigators later reviewed radio logs and witness statements, finding remarkable consistency in the object's appearance, flight path, and behavior. Conventional explanations—including stealth bombers, helicopters, and aircraft formations—failed to fully account for the object's silent hovering, immense size, and smooth movement.
The Rend Lake incident remains one of the most credible multi-officer UFO pursuits, distinguished by simultaneous police observations, documented dispatch recordings, and a prolonged chase across multiple jurisdictions.

The Rendlesham Forest Legacy – Britain's Enduring UFO Mystery (1980)
Show notes
In December 1980, U.S. Air Force personnel stationed near RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge in England reported strange lights descending into Rendlesham Forest. Security officers investigating the area claimed to encounter a triangular metallic craft displaying unusual lights and markings before it silently departed.
The following day, investigators discovered ground depressions, damaged tree branches, and unusual radiation readings, creating one of the most discussed physical-evidence UFO cases in history. Two nights later, Deputy Base Commander Charles Halt led a second investigation and recorded his observations on audio tape as unidentified lights maneuvered through the forest and sky.
Over the decades, researchers have reexamined military documents, witness testimony, radiation measurements, and the famous Halt Memorandum. Skeptics have suggested explanations involving the nearby Orford Ness Lighthouse, stars, and atmospheric effects, while supporters argue that these theories fail to explain all aspects of the case.
The Rendlesham Forest incident remains one of the world's most famous military UFO encounters because it combines multiple witnesses, official documentation, physical traces, audio recordings, and decades of continued investigation.

The Japanese Airline Flight 1628 Encounter – Giant Craft Over Alaska (1986)
Show notes
In November 1986, Japan Air Lines Flight 1628, a Boeing 747 cargo aircraft, was flying over Alaska when Captain Kenju Terauchi and his crew observed a series of bright unidentified lights pacing their aircraft. The objects maneuvered around the plane, changing position and speed in ways that did not resemble conventional aircraft.
As the encounter continued, the crew reported seeing a much larger object behind the smaller lights—an enormous dark craft that appeared far larger than any known aircraft. Air traffic controllers and military radar systems reportedly detected unusual targets in the area, providing partial radar confirmation of the event.
The encounter lasted for an extended period, during which the objects seemed to follow the aircraft despite altitude and course changes. After the flight landed safely in Anchorage, investigators reviewed pilot testimony, radar data, and controller reports.
While skeptics suggested explanations involving planets, atmospheric effects, or radar anomalies, none fully accounted for the combination of experienced pilot observations, radar contacts, and reports of a massive structured object.
The Flight 1628 case remains one of the most significant aviation UFO incidents ever recorded, notable for its duration, multiple witnesses, and the alleged presence of a gigantic unidentified craft over Alaska.
