A person fell onto the tracks at the Virginia Square metro station and was struck by an arriving train. Arlington County Fire Department personnel rescued the person from underneath the train and transported them to a hospital with serious injuries.

At 0749 MFD was called to 4546 Tompkins Dr Capital Railroad Services for a structure fire. L14 Arrived at 0753 to nothing showing. At 0755 they found some light haze in a lower office believing it to be a bad ballast they had E5 continue in all others cancel. At 0801 L14 requested the comcenter to redispatch the structure fire as they found increasing smoke but no fire 0808 C31 upgraded it to a working still. They found a fire in the basement hallway. Knockdown 0814 benchmarks stopped at 0901 units cleared by 0926 except for E11 CAR80 until 1127. Unknown cause at time of publishing. Crews C31 CAR80 E3 E5 E8 E11 E13 L8 L14 M5 M8 F05 F09 F10.
