Guest: Chris Rufer - Beyond Democracy: Human Respect And The Pursuit of Happiness
Episode 231
Show notes
Matt and Jason sat down with Chris Rufer, founder and chairman of the Foundation for Harmony and Prosperity and founder of The Morning Star Company. Rufer started Morning Star in 1970 as a one-truck operation hauling tomatoes to canneries. He built it into one of the world’s largest tomato processors, run through what he calls Mission Focused Self-Management, with no titles or appointed hierarchy of authority. In 2007 he established the Foundation, a California-based nonprofit dedicated to spreading the Philosophy of Human Respect: the idea that initiated violence and theft always decrease human happiness, harmony, and prosperity. He has been named the 2026 FreedomFest Freedom Award recipient, an honor previously given to Thomas Massie and Lyn Ulbricht.
Rufer builds the philosophy from the ground up. He separates personal principles, like a diet or the color of the car you buy, which people can compromise, from natural principles like gravity, which are discovered rather than invented and can’t be bargained with. From three axioms (people want to be happy, violence always decreases happiness, and theft always decreases happiness), he derives the moral principle of human respect: if you want to be happy and want others to be happy, don’t use violence or theft. He argues this leaves no room for the state, which he defines as a place where some people hold a monopoly on violence. It also leaves no room for “limited government,” since nobody wants limited theft or limited violence. The conversation digs into why so many people defend that arrangement, from the social contract to “who would build the roads?” Rufer points out that “government” is a concept, not a physical thing, and that every law is ultimately backed by a person with a gun. In his view, voting is hiring an agent to do what you wouldn’t do yourself. He suggests naming the actual person, the bureaucrat or enforcer, instead of hiding behind the word. The discussion also covers divide-and-conquer politics, why most politicians believe they’re doing good, and how moral progress like abolition and women’s suffrage took generations of changed minds. Rufer’s view is that force only hardens beliefs, so talking, writing, and living by example are the tools. On the debate between principle and pragmatism, he sees no conflict: he drives on public roads while arguing for private ones, yet refuses Social Security, Medicare, and government subsidies himself.
For the White Pill, the question was what a listener worn down by the corruption of the elite can do right now. Rufer’s answer is simple: build a solid understanding of the natural principle underneath the philosophy, communicate it positively to as many people as possible, and act in ways that reflect those beliefs to the degree you can. If you’re thirty-five years into government service and tied to your retirement, he says, understanding and communicating the principle is enough. His optimism rests on a single point: people want to be happy and free to choose, so the shift beyond democracy toward a society built on human respect will happen.

Guest: Scott Horton - AIPAC, Israel & The War Machine: Who Really Drives U.S. Foreign Policy
Episode 230
Show notes
Matt, Jason, and Don sat down with Scott Horton, director of the Libertarian Institute, editorial director of Antiwar.com, and host of The Scott Horton Show, which has logged more than 6,000 interviews since 2003. The author of Fool’s Errand, Enough Already, and Provoked, and co-host of the Provoked podcast with Darryl Cooper, Scott has spent decades making the case against American empire, and his recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience carried that message to a huge new audience.
Scott opens by arguing that AIPAC’s decision to stop publicly endorsing candidates is damage control for a toxic brand, not a loss of influence, since its super PAC keeps operating. From there the conversation turns to Iran, where he argues that diplomacy was within reach, that Iran was not racing for a bomb, and that the strikes and the killing of the supreme leader have empowered military hardliners and raised the pressure to build one. On Ukraine, he walks through NATO expansion, the Istanbul talks, and why he believes security guarantees are now the central obstacle to a settlement, warning that every month of fighting weakens Ukraine’s hand and that a US promise to fight Russia “next time” would be dangerous. The group also weighs how the midterms could shift American support for the war, and whether artists owe the public a political stance on war, given the career risk of taking one.
To close on a positive note, Scott is asked how to channel the growing left-right fatigue with endless war and rising prices into a movement that can dismantle the military-industrial complex. His answer starts with Ron Paul’s lesson that education and public consensus come first. He points to pressure at the state level and in House races, where no lobby can control all 435 districts, stresses that the presidency is where war powers ultimately sit, and names sincere America First figures such as Tucker Carlson, Thomas Massie, and Joe Kent as the kind of leadership that could bring a soft landing for the empire. He wraps up by pointing listeners to the Scott Horton Academy of Foreign Policy and Freedom, a library of long-form courses designed so anyone can get up to speed on the Middle East, the new Cold War, and the war in Ukraine. Guest: Whitney Webb - Beyond Epstein & Maxwell: Revisiting The Machinery of Blackmail
Episode 229
Show notes
This week, The Free Thought Project revisits our conversation with investigative journalist Whitney Webb of Unlimited Hangout, recorded just one day after she finished writing One Nation Under Blackmail. With Ghislaine Maxwell’s 20-year prison sentence central to the original discussion, we explored a question that extends far beyond either individual: Who enabled this operation—and who escaped accountability?
Webb examines Epstein and Maxwell’s connections to powerful institutions, reported intelligence ties, links to Israel, and the history surrounding Robert Maxwell and Iran-Contra. We also discuss secrecy and redactions surrounding the case, Epstein’s little black book, his attempt to acquire an airline, questions surrounding Mark Middleton’s death, and reported connections involving Disney and the CIA.
Throughout the conversation, Webb makes the case for understanding blackmail as a tool of influence and political control—and for keeping public pressure on the institutions implicated in the broader story.
Presented again with its original recording context, this interview offers a deeper framework for examining the Epstein case beyond the headlines. (Length: 1:17:48)

Guest: Matt Taibbi - 8 Years After The Purge: Revisiting Our Talk With Journalist Matt Taibbi
Episode 228
Show notes
On October 11, 2018, The Free Thought Project was swept up in the mass purge of independent media from social media. Years of work and an audience of millions disappeared. Matt Taibbi was one of the few mainstream journalists who recognized the stakes, interviewed us for Rolling Stone, and treated our removal as a serious threat to free speech.
Eight years later, we’re revisiting our March 2025 conversation with him.
With this week’s guest canceling and Jason traveling next week, we’re bringing back an interview that means a great deal to us—with a new introduction from Jason Bassler and Matt Agorist reflecting on the purge, its lasting consequences, and what stood out when listening again.
In the original interview, we explore how Taibbi came to cover our deplatforming and what his reporting helped us understand about the apparatus surrounding it. We discuss the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab, accusations that misrepresented our work, and the overlap between government interests, Big Tech, and organizations claiming to fight “disinformation.”
The conversation also examines censorship across party lines, including Trump’s executive order concerning anti-Israel speech on college campuses. Taibbi shares his experience of having his reach suppressed on Elon Musk’s platform after helping expose censorship through the Twitter Files—and the financial and personal toll that followed.
These discussions were recorded in March 2025. We’re sharing them again because the anniversary deserves more than a passing mention—and because rebuilding an independent outlet doesn’t erase what happened to it.
▶️ Listen to the replay, featuring our new introduction.
They called it fighting disinformation. We got to call it rebuilding our livelihood.

Guest: Ford Fischer - Fall of The Boogaloo: Big Guns, Hawaiian Shirts, & Federal Informants
Episode 227
Show notes
Matt and Jason sat down with Ford Fischer, the independent journalist and filmmaker behind News2Share, in his first return to the show in nearly six years. Ford is editor-in-chief of the News2Share streaming platform, which specializes in raw video journalism on political activism. His footage from Charlottesville appeared in the PBS documentary Documenting Hate: Charlottesville, which earned an Emmy honor. For more than a decade, he has filmed protests, militias, and activists on every side that mainstream outlets avoid, and he has kept at it despite censorship and demonetization by big tech platforms. His new multi-part docuseries, Fall of the Boogaloo, is the most ambitious project of his career.
The conversation traces how Ford went from documenting militia members keeping the peace at Charlottesville to following the Boogaloo movement: a decentralized, internet-born subculture of gun enthusiasts, libertarian-leaning anti-police-violence activists, and meme culture that mainstream media badly misunderstood. Ford explains how he earned the trust of these armed, paranoid groups and why he thinks his refusal to editorialize is what let him in. He describes the story that made him realize there was a documentary to be made, the FOIA records he gathered to test what he was being told, and the infighting and paranoia that tore the movement apart. The discussion covers the role of informants in these groups, what the Inspector General's report found about confidential sources at January 6, and how misleading narratives about armed Boogaloo "fire teams" made their way into the impeachment fight. It also explores provocateurs at rallies, the tactics used to push people toward crimes, and the continued reliance on informants today across the political spectrum. Ford shares how he stays calm around armed and hostile crowds, the de-escalation that has kept him safe, and how he responded when the FBI reportedly asked him, through a source, to delay a this documentary.
For the White Pill, the conversation turns to whether peaceful, unified movements can survive federal interference. Ford argues that the answer starts with refusing to let fear and finger-pointing tear groups apart, and with being honest with one another when the feds come knocking. He makes the case for public disclosure, and for movements and trusted independent journalists to form a coalition of mutual interest in exposing what the state is doing. He also hopes viewers on the left and right will recognize themselves in the Boogaloo story and understand that this could happen to them. Along the way, the discussion highlights moments when the movement came together across lines of race and ideology, including Boogaloo members and BLM 757 standing together in Richmond and pushing out white supremacists, as proof that unity is what the establishment fears most. Guest: Mark Maresca - The White Pill Roadmap: Reimagining Society For A Voluntary Future
Episode 226
Show notes
In this episode of The Free Thought Project podcast, Matt Agorist and Jason Bassler sit down with Mark Maresca, a prominent advocate for voluntaryism and the creator and host of The White PillBox podcast and Substack. Maresca has established himself as a vital voice in the liberty movement, dedicated to dismantling the illusion of political authority and equipping individuals with positive, solution-oriented frameworks to overcome state overreach.
The conversation begins with a clear, grounded definition of voluntaryism, illustrating how everyday consensual interactions prove that people already operate under stateless principles in their private lives. The discussion dives deep into the 30,000-foot view of statism, exploring how the persistent belief in political authority is sustained through state-driven legitimacy narratives and media control rather than sheer physical force. From deconstructing classic objections like the "warlord scenario" and the "social contract" myth to analyzing effective communication strategies that plant seeds of liberty without triggering psychological defenses, the dialogue highlights the steady erosion of state legitimacy. This awakening is further demonstrated by growing, organic pushback against pervasive surveillance infrastructure—such as the widespread deployment of Flock automated license plate readers—proving that public skepticism toward centralized control is accelerating faster than ever.
Closing on an inspiring "white pill" note, the discussion emphasizes how the decentralized structure of the internet permanently waters down state propaganda, allowing individuals to discover parallel networks and embrace true self-sovereignty. Rather than falling into demoralization or endless political cycles, the path forward relies on voluntary association, counter-economics, and local community building. Looking decades into the future, a genuinely free society is framed not as an unattainable utopia, but as a practical world defined by peaceful cooperation, direct competition, and the absolute freedom to opt out of centralized state monopolies in education, utilities, and daily life. Guest: Charlie Robinson - Two Factions, One Agenda: Unmasking The Octopus of Population Control
Episode 225
Show notes
In this episode of The Free Thought Project Podcast, hosts Matt Agorist and Jason Bassler sit down with returning guest Charlie Robinson. Charlie is a researcher, author, host of the Macroaggressions podcast, and owner of Activist Post. He is also the author of The Octopus of Global Control and his latest work, The Octopus of Population Control. Known for bringing a massive paper trail of direct receipts to expose centralized agendas, Charlie breaks down how top-down engineering shapes everyday life.
The conversation opens with a deep dive into the mechanisms behind depopulation agendas, contrasting the technocratic, system-builder approach of historical eugenicists against more destructive geopolitical factions. The discussion moves into how traditional eugenics was strategically rebranded as transhumanism, leading straight into modern technocracy, algorithmic conditioning, and the hyper-addictive parasocial nature of AI companion platforms. The episode addresses demographic shifts, manufactured economic scarcity, biological stressors, and the psychological impact of demoralization, while also taking a side trip into the world of live debates and the growing public appetite for raw, unfiltered discourse.
Ending on a high note, the final portion of the episode focuses on keeping humanity unbroken in the face of heavy topics. Drawing on insights from Doug Casey, the discussion centers on focusing strictly on what individuals can control: daily actions, local resilience, personal health, and physical community. Rather than falling into demoralization or learned helplessness, the show emphasizes practical steps to decouple from broken systems, preserve sovereignty, and actively starve the machine through conscious lifestyle choices and solution-oriented media. Guest: Mark Passio - Gold Pill Awakening: How Moral Education Can End Modern Slavery
Episode 224
Show notes
Matt and Jason sat down with Mark Passio, a distinguished researcher of occult and esoteric knowledge. Known for educating the masses on the fundamentals of morality, natural law, and the human condition, Passio's work has profoundly impacted the liberty movement by unapologetically dismantling the illusions of the state and challenging everyday people to recognize the realities of systemic overreach.
The conversation centers on the glaring lack of morality within modern society, exploring how the general public often mistakes legality for virtue. The discussion dissects the very concept of authority, illustrating how government fundamentally operates on coercion and violence—a dynamic indistinguishable from slavery. A key philosophical distinction is made between "nescience"—a genuine lack of available information—and "ignorance," which is the willful dismissal of the truth. The dialogue also tackles the intersection of morality and technology, asserting that tools like AI and software development are not inherently evil, but rather neutral instruments that must be actively wielded by principled individuals to spread objective truth rather than leaving them exclusively in the hands of the establishment. Furthermore, modern alternative media is critiqued for endlessly chasing geopolitical news cycles instead of grounding its audience in foundational moral philosophy.
The final segment offers a powerful "Gold Pill," emphasizing that the path to true freedom requires a profound paradigm shift centered on personal accountability. It stresses the necessity of cultivating a deep reverence for knowledge and a relentless thirst for what is morally right. By aligning personal behavior with objective morality—specifically, the universal principle of non-aggression and the refusal to steal life, liberty, or property—individuals possess the complete power to extricate themselves from systemic control. The ultimate solution relies not on external saviors, but on the courage, willpower, and conscious choices of everyday people taking decisive action.

Guest: Shannon Joy – From Deplatformed to Defiant: Building Local Resistance Networks
Episode 223
Show notes
Matt and Jason sat down with independent broadcaster and liberty activist Shannon Joy for a powerful conversation about ideological consistency and the cost of telling the truth. Utilizing her background in advertising and media, Shannon built a highly successful syndicated radio show, only to face severe backlash and deplatforming when she refused to capitulate to the MAGA movement. Recognizing Donald Trump as a Trojan horse for establishment interests from day one, she charted her own course. She overcame corporate rug pulls to build an independent media network that reaches a million listeners a month and recently ran for Lieutenant Governor of New York alongside Larry Sharpe to challenge and expose the fraudulent political apparatus.
The conversation breaks down the illusion of political saviors and the reality of the bipartisan corporate-state nexus. The discussion explores how institutional capital is funding a rapid expansion of the surveillance state, turning everyday public utilities—like municipal streetlights—into high-speed, unconstitutional tracking nodes via Axon light posts and Flock cameras. Beyond the physical dragnet, the dialogue uncovers the insidious nature of "signature reduction," a government strategy deploying private fronts and civilian operations to manipulate local communities and social media narratives. It is a stark warning about the technocratic panopticon being built in our backyards under the guise of public safety.
The ultimate defense against a digitized, omnipresent surveillance state is hyper-localization and parallel institutions. The episode concludes with a deep dive into actionable countermeasures, emphasizing that human "relationships of trust" will soon become the most valuable commodity we possess. By actively adopting privacy-focused technologies, utilizing physical cash and precious metals, and intentionally building local supply chains, individuals can effectively starve the uniparty apparatus. The true white pill is a fearless return to localized human connection—rendering the corporate-state dragnet obsolete through unyielding, decentralized non-compliance. (Length: 1:12:49)

Guest: Abby Martin - Earth’s Greatest Enemy: Exposing the Pentagon's Global Pollution Machine
Episode 222
Show notes
In this episode, Matt, Jason, and Don sat down with fierce advocacy journalist and filmmaker Abby Martin. Known for her unapologetic anti-imperialist stance and her long-standing consistency in the independent media space, Abby has spent her career exposing state overreach and the atrocities of the military-industrial complex. In this deeply moving interview, she discusses her newest groundbreaking documentary, Earth's Greatest Enemy, and her steadfast refusal to compromise her principles or sell out to the partisan grifts that have recently captured so much of alternative media.
The core discussion dives into the staggering reality that the U.S. military is the single largest institutional polluter on the planet, yet remains a massive, intentional blind spot for mainstream environmentalists. The conversation explores the utter hypocrisy of the state demanding individual citizens reduce their ecological footprint while the empire actively poisons its own troops and citizens right at home, as seen with the tragic, toxic legacy of Camp Lejeune and widespread PFAS contamination. The dialogue also tackles the frustrating shift in the independent media landscape, highlighting how massive platforms that once championed huge anti-war coalitions have effectively become whitewashing mouthpieces for state criminality and authoritarian apologetics, completely shutting out genuine anti-imperialist perspectives.
Bringing the episode to a close, the final segment focuses on the "White Pill" of actionable, revolutionary optimism. The conversation explores the profound, radicalizing shift of parenthood—how having children can instantly cure self-destructive nihilism and ignite a fierce drive to protect the future. Leaving the audience inspired, the discussion emphasizes channeling righteous anger into local community building, pushing back against the surveillance state, and refusing to let the empire steal the joy of raising the next generation of "dragon slayers" in a time of dragons. Guest: Larken Rose - Unbound: Breaking Mental Chains & Ending The Age of Masters
Episode 221
Show notes
Matt, Jason, and Don sat down with author, speaker, and longtime voice of principled anarchismLarken Rose. Renowned for his groundbreaking works like The Most Dangerous Superstition and The Jones Plantation, Larken has spent decades dismantling the psychological illusion of political authority through plain logic, accessible analogies, and non-confrontational communication. In this episode, the hosts reflect on their recent experiences speaking at Larken's first-ever Approaching Humanity conference in Sedona, Arizona, exploring how bringing diverse voices together—ranging from former Obama supporters to an active, anti-statist Arizona sheriff—helps humanize the philosophy of voluntaryism and reach everyday people outside academic bubbles.
The conversation dives deep into the rapid rise of the surveillance state, focusing on the exponential proliferation ofFlock Safety license plate reader cameras and the massive, cross-partisan resistance emerging against them. The hosts and Larken examine how leaked corporate playbooks reveal police departments trying to "own the narrative," even as FBI data demonstrates that increased surveillance fails to improve crime clearance rates. Bypassing typical political divides, the group explores how to leverage real-world events—from foreign proxy wars and police overreach to local privacy battles—as entry points for conversation. Rather than treating statists as enemies to defeat, Larken outlines how Socratic questioning and methods like his Candles in the Dark program allow individuals to recognize their own internal contradictions and break free from political conditioning on their own terms.
Concluding with an atypical "White Pill" segment, the discussion shifts toward personal mindset frameworks for navigating an increasingly polarized world. Larken emphasizes that the most powerful shift a freedom-minded individual can make is remembering that bad outcomes are almost always the result of good intentions twisted by systemic propaganda. By approaching friends, family, and neighbors with empathy rather than hostility, listeners are equipped to act as "candles in the dark"—asking honest, targeted questions that uncover shared values, strip away the illusion of state authority, and turn everyday interactions into opportunities to liberate minds. Guest: Michael Picard: Holding a Mirror to Power: The Professional Troll Waking Up America
Episode 220
Show notes
Matt and Jason sat down with free speech activist, satirist, and legal warrior Michael Picard, widely known as the creator behind the popular YouTube channel Professional Douche. Emerging from a conservative background before embracing libertarian philosophy through Ron Paul, Picard transformed his worldview into a relentless crusade against state overreach and constitutional violations. Over the last decade, he has become a staple in the liberty movement—flexing his First Amendment rights, recording police misconduct, winning landmark civil rights lawsuits against corrupt law enforcement, and using world-class satire to challenge political dogmatism across the entire political spectrum.
The conversation dives deep into the philosophy of satire as a weapon against state authority and the rigid absurdity of the two-party paradigm. From hiding under tables to confront politicians like Matt Gaetz to infiltrating partisan rallies with extreme caricatures of partisan ideologies, the dialogue highlights how satirical mirroring disarms crowds and exposes deep-seated authoritarianism. The discussion reflects on Picard's most legendary encounters, including the infamous 2015 Connecticut State Police incident where officers illegally seized his camera—unaware it was still running—and caught themselves on tape actively plotting to fabricate criminal charges against him. The conversation also explores the impact of citizen journalism, the shield of qualified immunity in the judicial system, the rise of the First Amendment auditing movement, and how police routinely react when citizens stand up for their constitutional rights.
In the final portion of the episode, the focus shifts to actionable inspiration for everyday citizens who feel demoralized or intimidated by the expanding police state. Picard shares the origins of his own resilience, crediting his mother's encouragement to speak out, and offers a grounded "white pill" for listeners looking to cultivate their own resolve. Reclaiming freedom does not require grand gestures right away; confidence is built iteratively through taking that very first step. Whether it is holding up a sign, attending a local rally, or simply hitting record on a smartphone, taking simple, practical action is how individuals unlock their inner strength and spark real accountability in their communities. Guest: Roxy - 45 Days In Jail For Being Topless: Florida's Gender-Based Lawfare Exposed
Episode 219
Show notes
In this episode, Matt and Jason sit down with Roxi, a fierce advocate for bodily autonomy and the founder of Common Lawgic. Roxi's journey was forged in the fire of extreme state overreach when a simple act of existing naturally on a public beach—taking her shirt off in the sweltering Florida heat—led to a brutal collision with the justice system. Her story is a testament to the absurd lengths the state will go to enforce arbitrary, gender-based puritanical codes, and the incredible resilience required to stand unbroken in the face of tyranny.
The conversation begins with a shocking breakdown of the initial arrest, detailing how a peaceful day at the beach escalated into a full-blown nightmare of weaponized lawfare. The discussion exposes how the justice system uses the "process as the punishment," dragging Roxi through 13 exhausting hearings, forced mental health evaluations, and a heavily biased trial that culminated in a devastating 45-day jail sentence simply for calling out the absurdity of the courtroom. The dialogue explores the glaring double standards in bodily autonomy—noting that most states actually recognize the legality of women going topless—and delves into the grim reality of a system determined to crush defiance. Despite the overwhelming pressure and incarceration, the narrative highlights the deep lessons learned behind bars and an unyielding determination to take this constitutional battle all the way to the Supreme Court.
Ending on a powerful "White Pill," the final segment of the episode shifts toward actionable pushback and unbreakable resolve. Refusing to be beaten down by the system, Roxi shares her profound insights into the legal matrix, breaking down the critical, empowering distinction between operating as a "citizen" versus a "national." This foundational knowledge serves as a potent framework for reclaiming personal sovereignty, offering listeners a concrete way to shift their mindset, step outside the confines of state subjugation, and stand firmly in their inherent rights. Guest: Joe Kent - Deception By Design: How the Israeli Security State Hijacked 'America First'
Episode 218
Show notes
In this episode of The Free Thought Project podcast, Matt and Jason sit down with Joe Kent. A former Army Special Forces warrant officer and CIA paramilitary officer, Kent spent 20 years in the military with 11 combat deployments. Most recently, he served as the Director of the National Counterterrorism Center under the Trump administration until his historic resignation in March of this year. Kent pulled the ripcord and walked away from one of the highest-ranking intelligence posts in the nation to blow the whistle on the orchestrated intelligence failures and foreign lobbying that dragged the United States into a disastrous war with Iran.
The conversation kicks off with a deep dive into the internal mechanisms of the national security state and the manufactured push for war. The discussion reveals how high-ranking officials were insulated from dissenting intelligence and how an orchestrated echo chamber successfully moved the administration's "red line" to trigger military action. From there, the dialogue shifts to the systemic outsourcing of American defense through initiatives like Section 224 of the NDAA, which integrates foreign military technologies and grants Israel unprecedented access to U.S. data fusion. The discussion also confronts the rapid expansion of the domestic surveillance state, examining how AI data centers and pervasive tracking technologies like Flock cameras are creeping into communities. The episode further explores the lack of accountability within intelligence agencies and the Deep State retaliation tactics deployed against those who step out of line.
Ending on "The White Pill," the episode outlines a pragmatic and unifying roadmap for reclaiming American sovereignty and liberty. The path forward centers on building a broad, non-interventionist political coalition that transcends traditional partisan divides, driven by a tech-savvy younger generation that refuses to accept the status quo. The solutions emphasize winding down the global empire, bringing troops home to secure domestic borders, and shifting to a strictly transactional foreign policy. By lifting counterproductive sanctions and restoring diplomatic realism, the United States can stop bleeding resources overseas, protect civil liberties at home, and foster true economic prosperity for its citizens. Guest: Maj Toure - MAGA's 180, Free Dexter Taylor & Guiding The New Youth Rebellion
Episode 217
Show notes
Hosts Jason Bassler and Matt Agorist welcomed back grassroots activist, author, and cultural builder Maj Toure for his sixth appearance on the Free Thought Project podcast. Maj is the founder of Black Guns Matter, the Solutionary Center in Philadelphia, and the online education platform Solutionary University. For over a decade, he has been an uncompromising defender of self-ownership, urban firearm rights education, and civic accountability. Maj’s work focuses heavily on teaching practical conflict resolution, de-escalation, and helping peaceful individuals break free from the mental and economic traps designed by the state.
The conversation dives deep into the shifting political landscape, analyzing the hyper-partisan gridlock of modern politics and the deep-seated cognitive dissonance that keeps voters trapped in establishment cults. The discussion unpacks the landmark unanimous Supreme Court ruling in United States v. Hemani—which declared that the federal government cannot strip individuals of their Second Amendment rights solely over cannabis use—and exposes the hypocrisy of an administration that aggressively pursued the case while masquerading behind a pro-2A facade. Crucially, the dialogue details a powerful wave of organic, multi-regional resistance against the encroaching surveillance state, highlighting decentralized campaigns like "Operation Flock Out" and "Knock the Flock" as citizens actively push back against FLOCK license plate cameras, Palantir data grids, and centralized tracking infrastructure.
The dialogue then pivots to the cultural dynamics of the digital age, examining how toxic online rage-baiting from political provocateurs is engineered to trigger emotional physical retaliation, ultimately weaponizing narrative control to drive disenfranchised youth straight toward authoritarian socialism. The conversation also highlights the severe state overreach surrounding the case of Dexter Taylor, a nonviolent man sentenced to a decade in a maximum-security prison for manufacturing 3D-printed firearms in his own home.
Ending on a powerful "White Pill" note, the episode highlights the necessity of shifting human energy away from systemic distractions and focusing entirely on personal development and local resilience. The final portion of the show underscores the vital role of holistic, decentralizing tools like Solutionary University—including foundational courses on family gun safety, civics, understanding imminent threats, and rights education—to build stronger, self-reliant individuals. The episode concludes with an empowering call to action: to reject state-sponsored demoralization, embrace analog presence, improve physical health, and use local body politics to actively secure liberty as an unalienable birthright. Guest: Catherine Fitts - Stargate & Surveillance: How Taxpayers Finance The Data Center Matrix
Episode 216
Show notes
Matt Agorist and Don Via, Jr. sat down with the relentless Catherine Austin Fitts for an incredibly vital status report on the global fight for financial freedom. A former Wall Street powerhouse and former Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Bush Senior administration, Catherine is the publisher of The Solari Report and one of the liberty movement’s most brilliant economic minds. After famously looking inside the belly of the beast and blowing the whistle on the missing trillions of dollars leaking out of the federal budget decades ago, she has dedicated her life to exposing state overreach and the encroaching digital panopticon. Fresh off a massive interview with Tucker Carlson and a major speaking appearance at the John Birch Society Conference in Salt Lake City, Catherine joins the show in the midst of a grueling multi-city tour to break down how everyday people can bypass the uni-party trap and construct an unbroken, parallel world.
The core of the discussion dismantles the insidious architecture of the "Digital Control Grid" and the mechanism of what Catherine defines as the "automatic third lock". The conversation exposes how recent political theater—such as a temporary ban on retail Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs)—serves as a massive bait-and-switch, masking a back-door corporate-government hydra built on private stablecoins through legislative frameworks like the GENIUS Act. This programmable ledger system aims to transition traditional bank deposits, stocks, and bonds into a machine-driven surveillance apparatus that can instantly freeze, block, or condition transactions from above the institutional level, entirely bypassing human legal accountability. The dialogue maps out the immense physical scale of this grid, detailing how the United States has become the global hardware hub by housing more data centers than the top 14 countries combined. Crucially, the breakdown reveals how everyday citizens are being manipulated into financing their own digital cages through local taxpayer subsidies and heavily concentrated 401(k) and IRA retirement portfolios that pour billions into tech monopolies. Finally, the geopolitical lens is turned onto the deceptive "multipolar world order" narrative, revealing that central planners across both the BRICS nations and Western alliances remain uniformly loyal to the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) digital ID model, reframing the current global tension as a mere turf war over who secures "middle management" data rights.
Shifting gears entirely to actionable resistance and "The White Pill," the episode maps out a comprehensive tactical manual for individual and community empowerment. The path forward demands an active financial decoupling—urging listeners to defund the surveillance panopticon by auditing their wealth, pulling retirement funds out of Wall Street's concentrated index funds, and shifting capital toward localized, tangible assets. True systemic pushback relies on a dual-layered approach: aggressively utilizing physical cash through localized "Turtling for Cash" campaigns to build community resilience and starve data center resource consumption, while simultaneously adopting decentralized, protocol-level digital privacy networks like Monero or Zano to secure long-distance commerce outside the matrix. Catherine highlights the Coming Clean blueprint—a downloadable guide packed with practical steps to systematically stop feeding energy to the state and start financing your own family. Ultimately, building a free civilization relies on a node-to-node system anchored entirely in real-world human relationships of trust. The show closes with an inspiring spiritual framework drawn from The NeverEnding Story, reminding the audience that the ultimate defense against the technocratic "nothing" is to aggressively protect personal joy, foster community connection, and maintain an unshakeable state of amusement. Guest: Dexter Taylor - 10 Years For 3D Printing: Dexter Taylor Speaks Out From Prison
Episode 215
Show notes
The state of New York doesn't lock people in cages to keep the public safe; they do it to violently enforce their monopoly on power. If you are an actual violent criminal, the judicial system will actively look for ways to put you back on the street. But if you are a peaceful software engineer who decides to exercise your inherent right to self-defense by building a piece of metal in your own home, they will raid your house and bury you.
This week, we hand about of a different flow for the podcast as TFTP co-founder Jason Bassler sat down with Dexter Taylor to discuss his draconian 10-year prison sentence for the completely victimless act of being self-sufficient. Jason managed to secure a 45-minute call with Dexter directly from inside his upstate New York prison cell. Because Dexter is currently held captive by the state's prison-industrial complex, the audio carries the unmistakable, dystopian interruptions of a Securus jail phone line. It is a bit rough around the edges, but his message cuts through the static and is absolutely essential listening.
During the conversation, Dexter systematically dismantles the corporate media's propaganda campaign against so-called "ghost guns" and exposes the establishment's terrifying pivot toward criminalizing the literal tools of creation. They discuss his active appellate battle against a state court system that has openly admitted it does not care about the Second Amendment. Dexter also details the profound mental discipline it takes to survive a political persecution without letting the system break your spirit.
He offers a harsh reality check to anyone in the liberty movement who thinks they can simply outrun authoritarianism by fleeing to a different zip code. Tyranny is a maximalist endeavor, and Dexter's unyielding defiance is a blueprint for how peaceful people must stand their ground against an overreaching state. The political class wants his name forgotten and his life ruined to set an example, which is exactly why we refuse to stop talking about him. (Length: 45:20)

Guest: Barrett Brown - Mapping Peter Thiel’s Panopticon & Mobilizing The Counteroffensive
Episode 214
Show notes
In this episode of The Free Thought Project podcast, Matt Agorist and Jason Bassler sit down with legendary journalist, essayist, and transparency activist Barrett Brown. Renowned for his early investigations into the cyber-industrial complex and his work with the crowdsourced investigative wiki Project PM, Barrett became a prime target of the national security state following the 2012 Stratfor email leaks. He subsequently endured five years in federal prison, solitary confinement, and restrictive gag orders—a campaign of state retaliation that only solidified his status as an unbroken voice in the liberty movement. Returning to the show, Barrett brings his signature, uncompromising intellect to expose the inner workings of the modern panopticon and the corporate entities currently building it.
The conversation dives deep into the sprawling nexus of the privatized surveillance state, unpacking the true power dynamic behind Palantir Co-Founder Peter Thiel and his deep-seated connections to the intelligence community. The discussion traces the hidden history of narrative control, examining everything from leaked Jeffrey Epstein communications to new corporate schemes like "Objection AI"—an organization utilizing intelligence-linked actors to score journalist credibility. A major focus centers on the unprecedented infrastructure boom taking place on American soil, where the U.S. already operates over 5,400 data centers—more than the next 14 nations combined—while aggressively constructing thousands more under the guise of "AI." The dialogue explores the frightening reality of an outsourced, unconstitutional data-gathering grid hidden behind corporate NDAs, a recent institutional mutiny that led to Barrett being blacklisted from a major publication by intelligence assets, and a compelling look at how modern information warfare seeks to render truth entirely irrelevant.
Ending on a powerful "White Pill," the episode shifts from the terrifying scale of the cyber-industrial complex to a concrete strategy for dismantling it. Rather than succumbing to defeatism, the discussion highlights the immense vulnerability of these technocratic institutions when faced with decentralized, entirely legal counter-information campaigns. Barrett details an upcoming, real-time demonstration of a massive new crowdsourced investigative offensive. By fusing standard investigative journalism with public research networks and advanced data-processing tools, this hybrid model is designed to crowdsource the exposure of state and corporate corruption at eighty times the speed of previous initiatives. The audience is left with a stark, inspiring reminder: the global surveillance apparatus is structurally weak, entirely dependent on public ignorance, and can be decisively toppled by a focused, legally insulated vanguard committed to reclaiming human liberty. Guest: Joby Weeks - From Bitcoin Pioneer to House Arrest: Inside Joby Week's Fight
Episode 213
Show notes
In this episode of the Free Thought Project podcast, Matt and Jason sit down with early Bitcoin pioneer, entrepreneur, and dedicated liberty advocate, Joby Weeks. Joby has spent his life leveraging disruptive technologies to empower individuals and has been a massive behind-the-scenes force in the freedom movement—even serving as the man behind the legendary Ron Paul blimp. Unfortunately, his massive success in the decentralized space made him a prime target for the establishment. Despite stepping up to help the FBI track down actual cybercriminals, Joby was politically prosecuted and railroaded by the State. Stripped of his assets, held away from his newborn child, and coerced into a plea deal for bureaucratic, victimless crimes, he now holds the grim record for the longest pretrial house arrest in U.S. history—surviving over six years under the thumb of the justice system without a trial.
The conversation delves deep into the mechanics of the government's theatrical lawfare against decentralized money. The discussion explores the massive discrepancy between the bombastic, headline-grabbing claims made by the DOJ and the reality of the paperwork-related charges used to justify the destruction of a legitimate, globe-spanning enterprise. The episode highlights the brutal "punishment by process" that targets whistleblowers and innovators, exploring the philosophical implications of a justice system that relies on endless pretrial detention when they cannot produce a single actual victim.
Despite the relentless targeting by the State, the episode ends on an incredibly inspiring note. Joby shares his unbreakable mindset, explaining how he survived solitary confinement and years of isolation by actively using gratitude as the ultimate antidote to anger and fear. Finally, the discussion pivots to actionable, forward-thinking solutions. The conversation breaks down the absolute necessity of integrating privacy-first technologies—like the untraceable Zano ecosystem—to serve as an impenetrable shield for the liberty movement, ensuring the central banking cartels can no longer target and cripple the innovators building the future of freedom. Guest: Pot Brothers At Law - Shut the F Up: The 29-Word Script That Saves Lives
Episode 212
Show notes
In this episode of The Free Thought Project podcast, Jason and Matt sit down with Marc and Craig Wasserman, better known to the world as the Pot Brothers at Law. Quick note before diving in: you may notice some brief audio issues in the opening minutes. We cleaned up everything we could, and while a little roughness remains, the conversation is absolutely worth sticking through.
Practicing law in California for decades, Marc and Craig specialize in criminal defense and cannabis business licensing, compliance, and regulations. They skyrocketed to internet fame in 2015 and now boast over 3 million followers across social media. They are most famous for teaching the public their signature 29-word "Shut the F Up" (STFU) script—a practical, bulletproof guide designed to help citizens peacefully engage with law enforcement while fiercely protecting their constitutional rights.
The conversation dives deep into the realities of the modern justice system and the psychological traps police use to trick individuals into waiving their rights. The discussion dismantles the dangerous myth of having "nothing to hide," detailing how even innocent people can accidentally talk themselves into a cage, and clarifies what legal "cooperation" actually looks like during a traffic stop. The episode also tackles the perverse, revenue-driven incentives of modern policing, the reality that cops are legally allowed to lie to secure an arrest, and how the recent federal rescheduling of cannabis to Schedule III is less about freedom and more about protecting state-enforced corporate monopolies. Ultimately, the show serves as a powerful masterclass in legal self-defense, offering listeners a massive "white pill" on how to outsmart the system, maintain their sovereignty, and use the sound of silence to take their power back.
