The Reclaimed Podcast

What are you ready to reclaim?

Something forgotten can become the starting point for something extraordinary. So can a part of yourself you’re ready to rediscover.

Join Jane Bellante and Royce Hunt Bell of RoyCycled Treasures for conversations about reclaiming what has value—in the things we create and the lives we choose.

**Meet Your Hosts**

Reclaiming begins with seeing possibility.

As artists, we see potential in things that have been discarded or overlooked. Working with those materials has a way of changing how we see ourselves, too.

The Reclaimed Podcast follows that connection. A conversation about an old object can open into a question about creativity. Making something our own can lead us to consider how we spend our time, or how much of our identity we’ve shaped around someone else’s expectations.

We’re curious about what happens when we take another look at what’s already there—and decide what we want to make of it.

## Meet Jane & Royce

We’re Jane Bellante and Royce Hunt Bell, two artists who know how much possibility there is in a second look.

Jane is a mixed media artist and identity and leadership coach whose work explores the relationship between knowing yourself and creating what comes next. Royce is the artist behind RoyCycled Treasures, bringing a love of transformation and creative possibility to the conversation.

Together, we’re exploring what reclaiming means in our work and in our own lives. We’d love for you to join us.

What would reclaiming look like for you?

It could begin with something you found at a thrift store. It could begin with making time for an idea you’ve wanted to explore for years. It could begin with realizing that who you are today gets to influence what you choose next.

That’s where our conversations begin.

    Show notes

The Art of Beginning Before You’re Ready

Have you ever been so excited about an idea that you immediately started thinking of everything you needed to figure out before you could begin? We’ve both been there, and in this episode, we’re talking about what helps us actually get started.

Royce shares how opening a warehouse and changing her business left her wondering what to do first—and how choosing a few small tasks helped her begin.

We also talk about asking for feedback and how personal it can feel when someone questions something you care about. Royce shares her experience changing the name of a class, and we explore how curiosity can help us learn from a response and decide what to try next.

Of course, the conversation takes a few turns along the way. We get into how we speak to ourselves, why certain comments stay with us, and what it means to trust our own judgment while we’re still learning.

Whether you’re beginning a creative project or pursuing a change you’ve been thinking about for years, we hope you’ll join us.

This week, choose three small things you can do toward something you want. What will you start with? We’d love to hear.

  2. What Are You Ready to Reclaim?

    Show notes

What’s something you love that you’ve set aside? In this episode of The Reclaimed Podcast, Jane Bellante and Royce Hunt Bell explore what it means to return to your own interests and ask what you want for yourself now.

We talk about how our identities become intertwined with the roles we fill and how unfamiliar it can feel to choose something simply because it matters to us. Jane shares how a major health scare brought self-worth into focus, while Royce reflects on claiming the word “artist” and making room for creative growth.

Our conversation connects experimenting with art to experimenting with life. Trying an unfamiliar material or walking somewhere new can give you a chance to discover what excites you. Following that curiosity helps you learn more about who you are today.

Along the way, we explore how comparison influences our choices and how the way we speak to ourselves shapes what we’re willing to pursue.

What are you ready to reclaim? We’d love to hear your answer—and whether you’d enjoy a collection of prompts for experimenting with art and everyday life.

  3. Finding Yourself Again Through Creativity

    Show notes

Episode 1: Reclaiming Your Creativity—and Yourself

What happens when you give yourself time to create simply because you love it?

In the first episode of The Reclaimed Podcast, Jane Bellante and Royce Hunt Bell of RoyCycled Treasures share why their private conversations became a podcast and what reclaiming means to each of them.

We talk about rediscovering yourself after years devoted to family and giving your creativity a place in your life. Royce shares what happens during her Mad Scientist Mondays, where experimentation becomes a way to discover what she loves. Jane reflects on a moment during her master’s degree when a mentor helped her move through resistance—and how taking that step opened up new possibilities.

Along the way, we explore comparison at the art table, the willingness to be a beginner, and how confidence gained through creating reaches into other parts of life. We also talk about gratitude and how what we pay attention to shapes what we notice.

Our invitation for this first episode: give yourself time to make something because you enjoy making it. The experience itself has value.

Next episode, we’re asking: What are you ready to reclaim?
