Trend Or Trap?
Trend or Trap? is the fast-paced sports betting debate show presented by TrendsCenter.
In this high-intensity mini podcast, one host brings the heat while two sharp bettors go head-to-head — taking opposite sides of three games in a battle built on data, trends, and advanced analytics.
Each episode runs about 10 minutes. No fluff. No narratives without numbers. Just hard-hitting cases powered by insights from the TrendsCenter App and deeper advanced stats. One guest argues “Trend.” The other argues “Trap.” The games decide who was right.
Only one winner is crowned at the end — determined strictly by results — but the real edge comes from the process: breaking down systems, identifying market inefficiencies, and challenging conventional betting wisdom in real time.
Fast. Analytical. Competitive.

Episode 118: Week 5 NFL Best Bets
Episode 118
Show notes
Welcome back to another edition of NFL Week 5 Best Bets, presented by TrendsCenter and @DanielKarpuc.
After a slow 9-10 (-1.37u) start to the season, I’m looking to turn things around with three bets I believe offer some of the biggest edges on the Week 5 slate. As always, I’m using TrendsCenter’s historical trends, systems and matchup data to identify the spots worth targeting.
This week’s card features three teams I’m backing:
🏈 Cowboys -7.5 vs. Buccaneers — Dallas has been one of the NFL’s most explosive offenses, while Tampa Bay enters on an NFL-record 0-13 ATS skid.
🏈 Bears -2.5 at Packers — A powerful historical system backs Chicago, and the Bears’ league-leading rushing attack could overwhelm a Green Bay defense that has struggled against the run.
🏈 Vikings ML at Saints — Minnesota is 14-0 straight up as a road favorite under Kevin O’Connell when the total is below 46.5, and the Vikings’ defense gives them a major edge in this matchup.
Can we bounce back with a 3-0 sweep in Week 5?
Let’s break down all three bets and see where the biggest betting edges are on this week’s NFL slate.

On Wednesday, October 7, we’re breaking down three intriguing matchups across college football, the NHL and MLB playoffs — using TrendsCenter trends and systems to determine whether we’re looking at a trend to tail or a trap to fade.
First, Jacksonville State takes on Kennesaw State, where a perfect 12-0 moneyline system has us backing the Gamecocks on the road.

Finally, we head to the MLB playoffs for Guardians at White Sox, where Chicago is riding a ridiculous 21-game over streak when playing with exactly one day of rest.

Trend or Trap? is back with three more betting debates powered by TrendsCenter!
Dan Karpuc breaks down three intriguing matchups across college football, the NHL and MLB, using trends and systems from the TrendsCenter app to determine whether each angle is a trend to tail or a trap to fade.
🏈 Southern Miss at Troy — Troy is laying 10.5 points, but can the Trojans take advantage of a Southern Miss defense allowing more than 235 rushing yards per game? A TrendsCenter system shows home favorites in low-total games have been crushing the spread this season.
🏒 Hurricanes at Canadiens — Carolina is a road favorite in Montreal with an NHL trend that has gone an incredible 12-1 to the under in this specific situation. Is under 6.5 the play?
⚾ Dodgers at Braves — Chris Sale's playoff starts have gone 8-0 to the over, while both offenses have been among the league's best in their respective home/road splits. Is over 6 runs too low to pass up?

Episode 115: Falcons at Saints MNF Week 4
Episode 115
Show notes
The Falcons head to New Orleans for Monday Night Football, and Atlanta +1.5 is standing out as one of Dan Karpuc’s favorite bets of the night.
Both teams enter Week 4 at 1-2, but a powerful TrendsCenter system points toward Atlanta. Since September 21, 2020, teams playing the Saints in primetime have gone 14-3-1 ATS (82.35%, +10.7u, 54.04% ROI).
There are also some major matchup concerns for New Orleans. The Saints will be without Kaden Elliss, Anfernee Jennings and Carl Granderson, while Pete Werner is questionable. That’s a significant hit to a defense already facing an Atlanta offense coming off a 35-point performance at Lambeau Field.
Michael Penix threw for 256 yards and a touchdown, Drake London erupted for 194 receiving yards, and Bijan Robinson ran for 194 yards and two touchdowns in last week’s dominant showing.
Meanwhile, with Travis Etienne out, New Orleans could lean even more heavily on the passing game with Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller in the backfield.
Does the TrendsCenter system continue its dominance against the Saints? Dan breaks down the matchup and explains why he’s backing Falcons +1.5 on Monday Night Football.

⚾ Phillies at Braves — Game 2: A strong Wild Card under trend is put to the test as Dan explains why he’s fading the historical trend and taking Over 7.0 runs.
🏒 Penguins at Flyers: A powerful 19-year season-opener trend points toward Philadelphia. Dan breaks down the matchup, Bryan Rust’s injury and Dan Vladar in net before landing on Flyers -140.
🏈 No. 3 Notre Dame at North Carolina: Notre Dame has dominated defensively, but 21.5 points is a massive number. Dan looks at North Carolina’s defense, the bye-week advantage and a strong historical ATS system before taking North Carolina +21.5.

🏒 Rangers at Bruins — A TrendsCenter system is 54-12 (81.82%) on the moneyline in a specific season-opener situation. Is Bruins ML a trend or a trap?
⚾ Red Sox at Yankees — A 27-8 moneyline system involving home playoff favorites, extra rest and lower totals points toward New York. Can the Yankees keep it going?
🏈 Navy at Air Force — A 61.34% over trend meets two elite rushing attacks, explosive passing numbers and defensive vulnerabilities. Is Over 45.5 the play?

🏈 Liberty at Coastal Carolina — A college football system is riding a nine-game winning streak, with road Thursday night favorites coming off a home cover going 22-1 straight up over the last eight seasons. Does Liberty keep the streak alive?

Episode 111: 19-0 MLB Trend for Tuesday September 22
Episode 111
Show notes
The White Sox are fighting for a Wild Card spot, and they bring an absolutely ridiculous 19-0 OVER trend into Tuesday’s matchup with the Royals.
Since April 3rd, White Sox games are 19-0 to the OVER after a day of rest — and I’m not fading it.
Anthony Kay takes the mound for Chicago, and his last five starts have all gone OVER 8.5, while Kansas City counters with Daniel Lynch and a Royals bullpen that owns one of the highest ERAs in baseball. Add in strong home scoring from Kansas City and the White Sox owning MLB’s second-highest OVER rate at 57.1%, and there are plenty of reasons to keep riding this trend.
Is White Sox/Royals OVER 8.5 another Trend to Tail — or is the perfect 19-0 streak finally due to end?
