  1. What We Know About the Florida Learjet 60 Crash, Haley Stevens Endorses Mike Rogers, and More.

    Show notes

A Learjet 60 carrying nine people crashed in Palm Beach County, Florida. We break down the ATC audio, what the crash video shows, and how aircraft icing can affect a plane. We also address two rumors spreading online: that the aircraft was shot down, and that what people saw falling from the sky wasn’t a plane at all, but a missile.

Then, Democratic Rep. Haley Stevens makes a last-minute break from her own party and endorses Republican Mike Rogers over Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan’s closely watched Senate race. We walk through the full timeline, the Rebellion PAC ad, the church appearance that never happened, her Sunday morning endorsement of Rogers, and her interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

Plus: a federal judge dismisses the DOJ’s lawsuit seeking to delay certification of Alaska’s Senate race involving Dan Sullivan and Daniel J. Sullivan; Sen. Chris Murphy is hospitalized after suffering a stroke; North Korea is accused of carrying out the $6.3 billion Binance hack; an ICE agent is indicted in Texas; Washington, D.C., and Virginia sue over President Trump’s proposed triumphal arch; and a judge opens an investigation into government representations about Trump’s D.C. golf-course renovation.

  6. Cornell Case Update: Jane Doe’s Sworn Statement, New Texts & What the Title IX Investigation Found

    Show notes

This episode is a full update on the Cornell University Jane Doe case and the allegations involving members of the Chi Phi fraternity.

We start with the six-page sworn statement Jane Doe gave Cornell investigators — the statement that was ultimately sent to the Tompkins County District Attorney before prosecutors declined to bring criminal charges. We walk through what Jane Doe said happened that night, what the DA actually reviewed, and why prosecutors originally concluded the evidence did not establish lack of consent under New York criminal law.

Then, we go through the newly released text-message exchanges between Jane Doe, Matthew Ingalls and Jonathan Newell in the days and weeks after the alleged assault, including the messages both sides are likely to point to as the civil lawsuit and renewed criminal investigation move forward.

We also break down Cornell’s Title IX findings against the accused students, who was found responsible for sexual assault, what punishments were imposed, and the critical difference between Cornell’s definition of incapacitation and New York’s criminal law.

Plus: Winston Lee joins Gillio Lopes in seeking to remove New York Attorney General Letitia James from the criminal investigation; Cornell’s Faculty Senate debates a no-confidence resolution; Tompkins County lawmakers consider an independent audit of the District Attorney’s Office; Cornell brings in New York State Police investigators; new data reveals how Cornell has historically punished students found responsible for sexual assault; and one of the students expelled in the Jane Doe case reportedly transferred to Nova Southeastern University.

This episode separates what Jane Doe alleges, what the accused men say, what Cornell’s internal investigation found, what prosecutors previously concluded, and what remains unresolved as the investigation continues.

Today, we’re catching up on the latest developments in the Cornell University case involving Jane Doe and members of the Chi Phi fraternity.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul has removed the Tompkins County District Attorney’s Office from the criminal investigation and appointed Attorney General Letitia James as special prosecutor. We break down what that means, why Hochul made the decision, and the controversy surrounding comments James made about Jane Doe before she was appointed.

We also go through newly released information about the original Cornell Police investigation and what prosecutors declined to review, the disciplinary punishments Cornell imposed on each of the seven men, newly obtained recorded phone calls between Jane Doe and fraternity members, additional text and Snapchat messages, and questions about evidence Cornell Police attempted to preserve.

Plus, we explain Cornell’s potential legal liability, the significance of a drug-related incident at the Chi Phi house hours before the alleged assault, Cornell President Michael Kotlikoff’s response, the Faculty Senate’s proposed vote of no confidence, and Governor Hochul’s push to change New York’s sexual-assault laws.

This episode covers developments through the morning of October 6, 2026.
