Nachi Gordon on Meaningful Minute, Jewish Media Responsibility & Telling Our Story | From the Inside Out

In this episode of From The Inside Out Podcast with Rivkah Krinsky and Eda Schottenstein, we sit down with Nachi Gordon of Meaningful Minute and the Meaningful People podcast to learn the person behind the mic. Nachi shares his early path in yeshiva and sports management, including pursuing work as an NBA agent, and how he launched Meaningful Minute in 2017 after Instagram introduced one-minute videos. He explains why he avoids overpreparing, how confidence grew despite being shy, and the responsibility of using a large platform without chasing controversy or hurting others, recounting a time he posted criticism that caused damage. Naki discusses criticism, resilience learned from guests, his Chabad identity and motivation to spread Jewish content, the need to “tell our story” in mainstream media, and his approach to privacy, family, balance, and investing in people.

Rabbi Doron Perez on Courage, Zionism, and Holding Grief and Joy After October 7

In this episode of From The Inside Out Podcast with Rivkah Krinsky and Eda Schottenstein, we interview Rabbi Doron Perez, executive chairman of World Mizrachi and president of the World Zionist Organization, about Jewish identity, Zionism, and faith after October 7. Perez describes his South African upbringing, growing observance, deep Zionist family ties, and making Aliyah twice. He argues anti-Zionism that denies Jewish self-determination “between the river and the sea” is a modern metamorphosis of antisemitism, while noting some opposition stems from ignorance, and stresses Jews must develop courage. He recounts how his sons Yonatan and Daniel fought at Nahal Oz; Yonatan was wounded and Daniel was killed on October 7 and taken hostage. He explains the family’s decision to proceed with Yonatan’s wedding while Daniel was missing, and his teachings on living with pain without escaping it, yearning as ongoing connection, authentic leadership, rejecting despair, and Daniel’s motto “Im lo ani, az mi?”

Avi & Sam Rosenfeld on Losing Their Son Natan in Gaza: Faith, Pride, and Choosing Light After October 7

In this episode of From The Inside Out Podcast with Rivkah Krinsky and Eda Schottenstein, we talk to Avi and Sam Rosenfeld, who lost their son Natan, a combat engineer soldier killed in Gaza on June 29, and reflects on the rupture of Simchat Torah 2023 and October 7 for the Jewish people. They share Natan’s personality, aliyah from London to Israel when he was seven, and how his friends and community honor him through gatherings, stickers, Torah scrolls, naming newborns, and projects like a pergola in Yerucham and a flower gemach. Avi describes Natan’s death in an RPG incident that he views as involving miracles, and both parents discuss grief, resilience, and their differing relationships with emunah and Hashem, including ongoing struggle, simple faith, and gratitude. They explain why they would make aliyah again, support their son Zevi’s upcoming combat enlistment, and emphasize choosing light, doing good, and living fully in Natan’s memory.

From the Inside Out: Rebbetzin Esti Hamilton on Emunah, Purpose, and Rosh Hashanah Clarity

In this episode of From The Inside Out Podcast with Rivkah Krinsky and Eda Schottenstein, we share a Rosh Hashanah episode featuring Rebbetzin Esti Hamilton, Esti recounts growing up in a Torah-teaching family, beginning to teach in Israel, and how her life changed when her first son, Daniel, was born profoundly disabled and hospitalized for two years, leading her to speak publicly about faith and to teach spiritual growth. She describes shifting from a transactional “spiritual slot machine” view of Hashem to a mature relationship, embracing paradigm shifts where circumstances may not change but perception does, and seeing purpose through hashgachah pratit and the holiness of the present. She discusses Rosh Hashanah as crowning Hashem rather than vidui, cultivating forgiveness, avoiding autopilot in mitzvot through kavanah, curating the “diet of the mind” with Torah learning, and offers practical tools from Mesilat Yesharim: awareness, holistic cheshbon hanefesh, and choosing one area to add intention.

Finding Meaning Through Viktor Frankl, Chabad Chassidus & Therapy
In this episode of From The Inside Out Podcast with Rivkah Krinsky and Eda Schottenstein, we interview Rabbi Daniel Schonbuch, a therapist and author of "Viktor Frankl and the Psychology of the Soul," about integrating CBT, marriage/family therapy, Viktor Frankl’s logotherapy, and Chabad Chassidus. Schonbuch explains Frankl’s core idea that humans are driven by meaning, not pleasure or power, and outlines three ways to find meaning: purposeful work, love/experience, and changing one’s attitude when suffering can’t be avoided. He describes creating TorahPsychology.org, holding Hakhel conferences inspired by the Rebbe’s encouragement and a message sent to Frankl, and using a 30-day logotherapy workbook to reduce depression and anxiety. The conversation also covers shared meaning in marriage, rising divorce and estrangement, parenting tools (I=QR, connection/communication/reduced control), reflective listening, trauma and meaning, and incorporating Mitteler Rebbe teachings and “Tracht gut vet zein gut.”

From the Inside Out: Color, Confidence, and God-Given Design with Rivky Duchman

In this episode of From The Inside Out Podcast with Rivkah Krinsky and Eda Schottenstein, we introduce guest Rivky Duchman, a Miami Beach color analyst and image consultant who blends aesthetics with Torah and Chassidus. Rivky explains her work uses the face as an “aesthetic blueprint” (skin tone, eyes, hair, contrast, texture, lines, and energy) to identify harmonious colors and styles, helping women develop signature style, reduce insecurity, and avoid trend-driven noise. She outlines seasonal color analysis origins and nuanced subtypes, shares how outside comments can disconnect people from their design, and discusses aesthetics as communication, first impressions, modesty, and dignity, citing stories about Rabbi Ishmael. Rivky supports enhancement tools like makeup or hair color while warning against “distortion,” critiques status-driven trend chasing, and emphasizes that true worth comes from being a part of Hashem and expressing inner beauty outward.

On Serving God, Not Being Religious with Dr. Elad Ben Elul & Rabbi Manis Friedman

In this episode of From The Inside Out Podcast, Rivkah and Eda sit down with Dr. Elad Ben Elul and Rabbi Manis Friedman on their book I Didn't Ask to Be Born and its core idea: Judaism isn't about being "religious" or what we need from God, but what God needs from us — asking daily, "What does God need from me today?" Ben Elul shares his Jewish awakening during fieldwork in West Africa, caught between secular Tel Aviv and an enclosed religious world, until Friedman's lecture "Why You Shouldn't Be Religious" reframed Jewish life as mission. Friedman traces this to his outreach starting in 1970 and its path to the book's Israeli success. They cover mitzvot, purpose, soulmates and marriage, hostages who found mission in captivity, teaching Tanya, Chabad's nonjudgment, and audience Q&A on dating, marriage, and identity.

Soul Therapy with Joanne Zagonev: Healing the False Self Through Psychology & Tanya

In this episode of From The Inside Out Podcast, with Rivkah and Eda, we introduce clinical psychologist and author Joanne Zagenov, whose book "Soul Therapy" integrates psychodynamic/attachment theory with Tanya. Joanne shares how growing up in a culture that prized intelligence, feeling like an outsider, and early experiences of “not good enough” shaped her pursuit of psychology and later Chassidus through Rabbi YY Keselman, leading to deeper healing. The conversation explores the true self vs false self, healthy authenticity vs narcissistic “do what feels good,” secure attachment and defenses, and the Tanya’s animal soul and godly soul, emphasizing a God-directed life alongside responsible therapy. Joanne discusses sensitivity, anxiety as a coping mechanism, splitting and transference, practical Chassidic tools for low self-esteem, shame, envy, anger, and anxiety, and offers guidance on estranged family relationships.

Letters for Life: Levi Y. Shmotkin on Rebbe’s Guidance for Emotional Health From the Inside Out

In this episode of From The Inside Out with Rivkah Krinsky and Eda Schottenstein, we interview Levi Shmotkin, author of Letters for Life, a practical guide to emotional health based on the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s letters, recorded in honor of Gimmel Tammuz. Shmotkin shares how his own teen experience of heaviness and apathy led him to the Rebbe’s counseling, emphasizing gratitude, humility, and shifting focus outward through giving and responsibility. He contrasts popular self-help’s self-focus with the Rebbe’s “third way” that validates feelings while expanding the mind toward Hashem and others, including examples from education. He discusses tools like structure and productivity, trust to counter anxiety, hesech hadas (redirecting attention), loneliness as eased through awareness of Divine providence, Torah and halacha as the enduring path to spirituality, discovering purpose, and the Rebbe’s message that “nothing stands in the way of the will.”

Rachel Goldberg-Polin on Faith, Grief, and Meaning After Hersh’s Captivity | From the Inside Out

Hosts Rivkah Krinsky and Eda Schottenstein interview educator and author Rachel Goldberg-Polin about her book When We See You Again, her family’s life in Jerusalem, and the loss of her son Hersh Goldberg-Polin, who was taken hostage from the Nova Music Festival on October 7 and later murdered after 328 days in captivity. Rachel recounts her path into Orthodox Jewish life starting in eighth grade at an Orthodox day school, describes how tefillah and Torah have sustained her, and shares how Viktor Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning—relayed to her through released hostage Or Levy—became a tool for enduring suffering by finding purpose. She discusses Modeh Ani, trust in Hashem amid uncertainty, grief as an expression of love, “toxic positivity” versus “tragic optimism,” and verses and teachings that frame this world as a hallway to the next.

Sefirar HaOmer as a Path of Alignment, Growth, and Relationship

In this episode of From The Inside Out Podcast with Rivkah and Eda, we interview Rivkah Mazal Tauber, recommended by Rivky Kaplan, who co-created a Sefira journal.

Rivka, who describes starting an Omer WhatsApp group that transformed her and explains Sefirat HaOmer as a step-by-step journey from Egypt to Matan Torah. She unpacks “Omer” (manna measure, barley offering, forgotten sheaf for the needy) as receiving from God, returning to God, and giving to others, and defines “Sefirah” as counting, story, and shining, framing the Sefirot as divine vessels and soul powers. Using building a business, she maps Keter through Malchut and applies the framework to relationships, procrastination, balancing effort with surrender, and the 49-day count leading to an uncountable 50th, emphasizing that simply counting fulfills the mitzvah and that God meets us in our humanity.

Dr. Edith Eger: Holocaust Survivor on Choice, Freedom, and Healing From the Inside Out

In this episode of From The Inside Out with Rivkah Krinsky & Eda Schottenstein, we're re-releasing an early, cherished interview after Dr. Edith Eger’s death, honoring the Auschwitz survivor, psychoanalyst, and author of The Choice, who taught that while we can’t control circumstances, we can choose our response. Eger recounts liberation after being left for dead, the loss of her parents and first love, guilt about her mother’s death, and how returning to Auschwitz helped her forgive herself. She discusses Viktor Frankl’s influence, finding purpose, sharing rather than hoarding, and distinguishing distress from stress. Eger offers guidance on self-love as self-care, expression as an antidote to depression, revisiting trauma, responding instead of reacting, compassionate listening with children, and building relationships through responsibility, growth, and hope, insisting hate keeps us imprisoned and that love is shown through actions.

Welcome to a new season of From The Inside Out Podcast with Rivkah and Eda!
In this time focused on turning inspiration into action during the 49 days from Pesach to Shavuot, we welcome Rabbi Dr. Laibl Wolf. Wolf, a Melbourne-based spiritual teacher blending Chassidus/Kabbalah with psychology, shares his journey from law studies to becoming the first Chabad emissary at the University of Wisconsin in 1969, and later returning to Melbourne at the Rebbe’s directive. He explains the Omer as a yearly “spiral” of spiritual energy for sequential introspection, contemplation, improvement, and change through 49 emotional “shades” of the sefirot, describing how mind guides emotion, how tools can be used by the godly or animal soul, and offering practical examples on balancing chessed and gevurah, managing impulsivity and anger, cultivating positivity (Tracht Gut; Gam Zu Letovah), and Emunah vs. Bitachon, concluding with a guided Modeh Ani meditation.

Finding Inner Freedom on Pesach: Rabbi YY Jacobson on Shame, Surrender & Redemptive Consciousness

This episode is dedicated in memory of Rivkah’s grandfather Mr. Max New, OB"M.

In this episode of From The Inside Out Podcast with Rivkah and Eda, we welcome Rabbi YY Jacobson to discuss why many people lack inner freedom even in good external conditions, emphasizing that freedom requires disciplined inner work: noticing one’s “Egypt,” pausing before reacting, cultivating curiosity, prayer, support systems, and being truly seen. Jacobson explores destructive vs. holy shame, Tanya’s model of distinguishing animal and divine consciousness, surrendering control to God without surrendering to abuse, and experiencing embodied oneness as redemptive consciousness. He also contrasts revealed and hidden miracles (Pesach vs. Purim), reflects on current events and collective resilience, and highlights softening the heart, authenticity, and non-transactional relationships.

Dr. John Delony on Anxiety, Marriage, and Turning Insight into Action

In this episode of From The Inside Out Podcast with Rivkah and Eda, we welcome Dr. John Delony to discuss how lasting change requires action, not just insight. Delony connects his approach to lessons from his father, a homicide detective and hostage negotiator who moved toward crisis, and his mother, who began college at 42 and earned a PhD at 57. He argues anxiety is an internal alarm system and that money, anger, and relationship problems often signal deeper issues beneath surface labels. Delony critiques cultural narratives that prioritize feelings and overload romantic partners amid widespread loneliness, urging couples to build friendship, service, and practical “repair” strategies. He recommends choosing reality through honest inventories, building trusted connections (including “outsourcing” perspective to reliable people), and prioritizing health, sleep, and faith. The episode includes sponsorship messages for Colel Chabad’s Pushka app and Shefa Living’s Mountain View community.

Velvel shares his unconventional journey—from a full-time yeshiva education and Rabbinical ordination to scoring a perfect 180 on the LSAT and stepping into high-stakes litigation—plus how Torah learning shaped his mindset, discipline, and clarity. Chyena opens up about the dignity and joy she finds in being the foundation of the home, and how the right partnership can elevate every area of life. Together, we discuss Shabbos as a “forced gift” of rest, navigating pressure without losing priorities, staying professional with strong boundaries, and why in marriage you’re not meant to argue to win—you’re meant to build a life as one team.

What makes this conversation so powerful is that it’s not just about success—it’s about what success is built on. Throughout the episode, Velvel and Chyena show what it looks like to be led by a guiding principle, even when life is demanding. The episode closes with their mantra, “Ein od milvado”—a grounding reminder that everything is in Hashem’s hands.
