Guy Talk MD

Society & Culture, Technology

Men’s health advice is everywhere. Clear, evidence-based guidance can be harder to find.

That’s what Harvard-trained, board-certified cardiologist Dr. Evan Appelbaum offers on Guy Talk MD, a podcast where he brings his whole-patient approach to how men feel, function and age, sharing his experiences with patients with a wider audience.

From testosterone, peptides and GLP-1 medications to heart health, sleep, stress, sexual health, mental health and longevity, each episode looks beyond quick fixes and one-size-fits-all answers. Dr. Appelbaum explains the science, challenges common misinformation and explores why quick fixes don’t offer men the quality health they deserve.

The goal is simple: Accurate information. Thoughtful care. A clearer picture of men’s health.

  1. The New Men's Health: It's Not Just Testosterone

    Episode 1

    Show notes

Fatigue, low libido, weight gain and brain fog can make men wonder if their testosterone is low. And while testosterone dominates much of the online conversation about men’s health, it’s only one part of a much bigger picture.

In the first episode of Guy Talk MD, Dr. Evan Appelbaum explains why understanding men’s health takes more than a testosterone number. He explores how sleep, cardiovascular and metabolic health, chronic stress, mental health and sexual function can all influence how men feel — and why online advice is no substitute for a careful medical workup.

This is a conversation about looking beyond symptoms, asking better questions and taking a more complete, connected approach to men’s health.

Dr. Appelbaum is a Harvard-trained, board-certified cardiologist and Director of Men’s Health Boston. He served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, where he worked as a clinician, teacher and researcher. He has co-authored numerous research articles, contributed book chapters and lectured on cardiovascular disease around the world.
