Your Center of Power, Love & Expression | Solar Plexus, Heart & Throat Chakras
Season 1, Episode 28
Show notes
What happens when we lose our sense of control, protect our hearts from being hurt, or spend so much time meeting everyone else’s expectations that we lose touch with our own voice?
In Episode 2 of this three-part chakra series, Cathy explores the Solar Plexus, Heart, and Throat Chakras—three energy centers connected with personal power, love, and authentic self-expression—and how Reiki can create space for awareness, balance, and reconnection with ourselves.
We explore how life experiences may contribute to energetic imbalance: feeling powerless when life seems to be happening to us, carrying childhood beliefs about who we are into adulthood, protecting the heart after grief, loss, disappointment, or hurt, and learning to stay quiet or become a people-pleaser to keep others happy.
Cathy also explores the traditional physical associations of each chakra and how these areas may show up during a Reiki session—from warmth or sensation around the upper abdomen, to a softening through the heart space, a deeper breath, emotional release, or a sense of relaxation around the throat, jaw, and shoulders.
Reiki isn't about telling someone what their body or energy means. It's about creating space to slow down, listen, and become curious about what we may be holding—and what we may be ready to release.
Along the way, consider:
Where have I given away my power?
What is my heart protecting me from?
What brings me joy?
What am I holding back?
And what might I say if I weren't afraid of disappointing someone?Because healing may not always be about becoming someone new. Sometimes it's about uncovering who you were beneath the expectations, roles, hurts, and experiences that taught you to hide parts of yourself.
Solar Plexus: I know who I am.
Heart: I allow myself to love and be loved.
Throat: I express who I am.Your power, your heart, and your voice were meant to work together.

Reiki in Real Practice | How Reiki Training Strengthens Intuition with Jennifer Grolemund
Season 1, Episode 25
Show notes
What happens when Reiki training begins to open the door to intuition?
In this episode of Healing Waves Reiki, I’m joined by Jennifer Grolemund—a science teacher, children’s author, Reiki Master, and one of my former students—to explore how her intuitive awareness developed through Reiki training and practice.
Jenn shares how experiences she once found difficult to understand began to make more sense as she moved through Reiki I, Reiki II, and Master Level training. What started as unexpected images, words, sensations, and moments of knowing gradually became something she learned to recognize, trust, and approach with greater discernment.
We talk about the different ways intuitive information can come through, the importance of quieting the analytical mind, why validation can help build confidence, and why Reiki practitioners don’t need to force—or even expect—intuitive messages during a session. Jen also brings the perspective of a science educator, reflecting on how curiosity, observation, healthy skepticism, and openness can coexist.
Most importantly, we explore an idea at the heart of this conversation: Reiki training may not give us intuition. Instead, it may help us become quiet enough to recognize abilities and ways of knowing that were already there.
If you’ve ever wondered whether you’re intuitive—or thought, I’m not receiving anything—this conversation is a beautiful reminder that intuition doesn’t look the same for everyone, and it often develops through practice, patience, trust, and simply learning to listen.

The Clairs | How We Receive Intuitive Information
Season 1, Episode 24
Show notes
How does intuitive information reach us?
Sometimes it appears as an image in the mind. Sometimes it comes through a word, a physical sensation, a familiar scent, or a quiet sense of simply knowing.
In this episode, Cathy explores the clairs—the intuitive counterparts to seeing, hearing, feeling, knowing, smelling, and tasting. You’ll learn how the different clairs may appear in everyday life, why some may feel stronger than others, and how they can work together to help you understand the signs and information you receive.
Cathy also shares personal experiences with clairaudience, clairsentience, claircognizance, and clairalience, along with grounded practices to help you recognize your own intuitive language without forcing an experience or turning every coincidence into a message.
You may discover that your intuition has been speaking to you for a very long time—you simply didn’t recognize how it communicates.

Signs From Our Loved Ones | Learning to Recognize the Ways Love Still Finds Us
Season 1, Episode 23
Show notes
Can the people we love continue to reach us after they're no longer physically here?
And if they can… how would we recognize it?
In this episode of Healing Waves Reiki, Cathy Scarpitto explores signs from loved ones through the interconnected lenses of grief, presence, intuition, and discernment.
Building on recent conversations about grief, the power of the present moment, and learning to trust our intuition, Cathy explores why recognizing a meaningful moment may have as much to do with what happens within us as what happens around us.
She also shares two deeply personal experiences involving her own mother—including the extraordinary “deer heart” coincidence that occurred while she was reading Laura Lynne Jackson's Signs: The Secret Language of the Universe, and the day a pair of plastic angel wings washed directly to her feet moments after she looked toward the sky and asked her mom to “just throw me a bone.”
Could these experiences be coincidences?
Perhaps.
This episode isn't about proving otherwise.
It's an invitation to remain curious
In this episode, you'll explore:
• How grief changes the way we experience our relationship with someone we love
• The connection between intuition and recognizing signs
• Why the first few seconds of an experience may be worth noticing before the analytical mind takes over
• How being present may help us notice meaningful moments we might otherwise overlook
• Why signs can be deeply personal rather than having one universal meaning
• Some of the ways people describe experiencing signs—from songs and dreams to animals, numbers, scents, objects, and synchronicities
• How to ask a loved one for a sign without constantly searching for one
• Why discernment matters when exploring signs and intuition
• Why not receiving a sign does not mean someone you love is absent—or that you aren't intuitive enoughBecause perhaps recognizing signs isn't about looking harder.
Perhaps it's about becoming present enough to notice.
Presence allows us to notice.
Intuition helps us recognize.
Discernment allows us to remain open without forcing an answer. And perhaps learning to carry love differently also means becoming open to recognizing it differently.

You don't have to search.
You don't have to prove anything.
Simply become present.
Stay curious.
And notice what happens around you—and within you.

Trusting Your Intuition | The Quiet Voice Within
Season 1, Episode 21
Show notes
What if you're already intuitive—you've just never learned how to recognize it?
Intuition doesn't always arrive as a dramatic message or unmistakable sign. Often, it's much quieter: a feeling in your body, a gentle nudge, a thought that seems to come from nowhere, or simply knowing something without knowing why.
In this episode of Healing Waves Reiki, Cathy explores how intuition speaks, why fear and outside noise can make it difficult to hear, and how learning your body's own "yes" and "no" can help you begin trusting yourself again.
She also shares a deeply personal turning point in her own spiritual journey. While searching for ways to develop her spiritual gifts and feel more connected to loved ones who had passed, Cathy heard Angel Medium Julie Jancius explain that our intuition is the channel through which our loved ones on the other side communicate with us.
That realization changed everything—and eventually led Cathy to complete Julie's Angel Reiki Master Teacher training.
You'll also learn simple ways to quiet the noise, distinguish intuition from fear, recognize your own intuitive language, and begin strengthening the trust that allows you to listen.
This episode is the perfect introduction to Cathy's upcoming conversation with Julie Jancius, where they'll go deeper into intuition, Angel Reiki, spiritual gifts, guidance, and connection with loved ones in spirit.

Bonus Meditation: The Quiet Voice Within: A Guided Meditation for Intuition Bonus
Show notes
Intuition rarely shouts. More often, it arrives as a quiet feeling, an unexpected image, a physical sensation, a simple word, or a sense of knowing we cannot quite explain.
Created as a companion to the Healing Waves Reiki intuition episodes, this guided meditation will help you quiet the mental noise, reconnect with your body, and begin recognizing the unique ways your intuition may speak to you.
You’ll also practice Cathy’s five-second rule—a simple way to notice what first enters your awareness before the analytical mind begins questioning, interpreting, or trying to make sense of it.
You don’t need to receive a message or find the perfect answer. Simply become quiet, remain curious, and begin trusting one small thing at a time.
Because strengthening your intuition isn’t always about receiving louder guidance. Sometimes, it’s about becoming a quieter listener.

What if the healing you've been searching for isn't waiting in the future—but is available in this very moment?
In this episode of Healing Waves Reiki, Cathy Scarpitto explores the transformative power of the present moment through the lens of Reiki, nervous system regulation, and mindful awareness. While many people were introduced to the concept of presence through Eckhart Tolle's The Power of Now, this conversation focuses on how returning to the present can support emotional well-being, reduce stress, and create the conditions for healing.

Are You Driving the Body… or Are You the Body? The Body as a Vehicle for Human Experience
Season 1, Episode 17
Show notes
Most of us were taught a simple idea: we are our body.
But what if that isn’t the full picture?
In this episode, we explore a deeper question—what if the body is not who we are, but the vehicle through which we experience being human?
Blending clinical insight with reflective, experiential exploration, we look at the intelligence of the nervous system, the way the body processes emotion and memory, and those quiet moments where we seem to observe ourselves from something deeper than thought.
This is not about belief systems or certainty. It’s about curiosity.
What is the body? What is awareness?
And what does it mean to be human if you are not limited to what you can physically see?
We also explore the idea of “Earth school”—life as an experience of learning through relationships, sensation, challenge, and growth—and why reconnecting to the body may actually be one of the most important forms of healing.
If you’ve ever felt like there is more to you than your thoughts, emotions, or physical form… this conversation will meet you there.

What If Intention Changes More Than We Realize? | Reiki, Water & the Healing Environment
Season 1, Episode 16
Show notes
Can intention influence healing? And how does the nervous system shape the body’s ability to heal?
In this episode of Healing Waves Reiki, we explore the connection between Reiki, intention, stress, energy, and the body’s internal healing environment through both a scientific and energetic lens.
Using the well-known water experiments of Masaru Emoto as a starting point, this episode dives into a grounded conversation about how thoughts, emotions, stress, perception, and nervous system regulation may influence the healing process.
This episode also explores the idea that healing is not just about physical symptoms—but about the environment the body is trying to heal within.
If you are interested in Reiki, nervous system healing, energy healing, mind-body connection, stress regulation, intuition, holistic healing, or the intersection of science and spirituality, this episode offers a grounded and thoughtful perspective on what it truly means to support healing.
Healing begins not only in the body—but in the conditions we create around it.
