If someone offered you easy ways to give you your time, money, and peace back, would you be interested? Today’s guest, Chalon LaFleur, shares how decluttering and simple organizing habits can do just that! She is the founder of Be An Organized One, and she sat down with Elizabeth to show just how much the spaces we live in affect the lives we’re trying to live. Because after all, living ON PURPOSE means making INTENTIONAL choices about what deserves a place in your life and what doesn’t.

Elizabeth is joined by special guest and wedding coordinator, Jessica Bencomo. They sat down to discuss ALL things wedding related… the expectations, the emotions, the money, the boundaries and the MOTHERS of the bride and groom. Ladies, lots will change when your children get married, but let’s give them the freedom to build their own marriage without feeling like they have to choose between loving their spouse and pleasing us. Whether you have children who will one day get married or they have already walked down the aisle, listen in to recognize when to speak up, when to step back, and when to simply show up with love.

Rather than waiting until the new year to make the changes you know you need, what if you could take a simple approach: ask four questions and adjust their proportions? No major changes. Nothing drastic. Elizabeth sits down to share her thoughts on this idea. If we DOUBLE one thing, cut one thing in HALF, ADD one thing that’s missing, and have the courage to DROP one thing, it just might make our lives meaningfully better.

Episode 93 - Friendship, for REAL
Show notes
We’d love to hear from you! Send us a text!
Why did making friends feel so much easier when we were kids—and why can it feel so complicated as adults? In this episode, Elizabeth gets REAL about adult friendship: how we define a friend matters, why our relationships change, the expectations we bring into them, and the ways we may unknowingly make connection harder than it needs to be. We’ll talk about letting go of the idea of the “perfect” friend, understanding that friendships have seasons, and recognizing the part we play in building the community we long for. Because maybe the answer isn’t just finding better friends—it’s learning how to be one.

Elizabeth was asked to record a recent talk she gave at a women’s Bible Study in Highlands, North Carolina. The message was centered on the simple ways we can LEAVE A LEGACY. Not what we can leave TO people when we leave this earth, but what we can leave IN people. True legacy is less about what we leave behind and more about WHO WE SEND FORWARD.
***** Disclaimer ***** This is not a typical ON PURPOSE episode. This is a Bible study talk she was asked to record for those who were unable to attend. Our regularly scheduled podcasts will pick back up on our next episode!

Most of us love the idea of boundaries - in theory. What we don’t love is the conversation that often needs to happen with them. And although healthy confrontation is often one of the most loving things we can do, many of us were not taught how to engage in it well. Dr. Michele Fleming is back to walk us through a practical, step-by-step script for having those much-needed conversations. THIS episode is for EVERYONE. (Be sure to like and share!)

Have you ever noticed that we set boundaries around the things that we value? We lock our doors at night. We put fences around swimming pools. We protect our passwords. We don’t give our car keys to strangers. And yet, when it comes to our time, our energy, our emotions, and our relationships - the very things that make up our lives - we often leave the gate wide open! Psychologist, Dr. Michele Fleming, sits down with Elizabeth (for part one of a two-part series) to talk about boundaries as guardrails that help us love people well without losing ourselves in the process.

Show notes
We’d love to hear from you! Send us a text!
We are almost halfway through the year! Can you believe it? Today’s show doesn’t offer a to-do list, a three step plan, or anything else Elizabeth has learned on her journey to be INTENTIONAL. Instead, this is just a moment to pause, to reflect, to ask, and to do some personal journaling. Elizabeth will ask five questions worth sitting with, worth being honest about, and worth investing in. So take a deep breath, settle in, be willing to be honest with yourself, and go into it believing that the best is not behind you.
Five reflection questions:
1. What did January-you believe about this year that you've since proven wrong — and what did she get right?
2. What have you been tolerating that you haven't been willing to name out loud?
3. Who have you been showing up for — and who have you not been showing up for?
4. What would you do differently if you actually believed you were capable of it?
5. When this year is over, what do you want to be true that isn't yet?

In 1987 a woman named Emily Perl Kingsley wrote one of the most beautiful, simple pieces of writing you will ever read. And today’s episode is built around that incredible, gut-wrenching metaphor called Welcome To Holland. We all have things in our lives that we did NOT choose. Or that we did NOT see coming. We did NOT wish for, hope for, or pray for. Yet there they are. If you have EVER planned for, dreamt of or imagined what life would be like, only to find yourself asking, “how in the world did I end up here?”, then THIS episode is for YOU.

Many moms are natural born FIXERS and we want to help ease any burdens our children face. But is that what our children really need from us? Elizabeth sits down (for part 2 of a 3 part series) with Kim Anderson, certified therapist, coach, author and speaker who boldly shares that most of what we do in hard moments is about OUR discomfort, not our children's! And that what they need from us is not perfection, but our steady presence. She unpacks how our nervous system is what sets the temperature in the room and how important it is to understand that a dysregulated mom, cannot regulate a dysregulated child. If you have ever wanted to bulldoze the rocky path for your child, then this episode is for you! You may find Kim at elevatemoms.com

Are you moving through life on autopilot - one busy day, one passing year at a time? Deep down, we know we were created for more. We were designed with purpose, intention, and a unique calling… yet somewhere along the way, the noise of life drowned out our vision. We stopped dreaming. We stopped imagining days filled with meaning and joy. Elizabeth’s conversation with Amy Davis hopes to change that. In this engaging discussion, Amy invites us to learn to DREAM AGAIN. (If you want to take one brave step toward the PURPOSE you were designed for, be sure to pick up a copy of her book, Dream Day - you will be so glad you did!)

To start the year, Elizabeth sits down with podcast regular, Jane McLain. Jane shares how the word POSITIVITY kept showing up for her and why it became her focus point for this upcoming year. This isn’t about ignoring the bad, covering it with a cute quote or just saying ‘Stay positive! Everything is going to be OK!’ This is a deeper level of how positivity can show up in our mind, our heart, and our actions. Elizabeth felt that this short but powerful episode is the perfect way to start the new year!
