Fertility Nutrition Made Simple: How To Stop Overcomplicating It
Season 5, Episode 207
Show notes
Feeling overwhelmed by all the conflicting advice about what to eat for fertility? After going through hundreds of food diaries, I wanted to make this episode to take you back to the simple basics. We'll go through the three macronutrients, protein, carbs and fat, and why each one matters for your hormones. I'll also show you what a balanced day of eating can actually look like, with no strict rules and no extreme diets.
I'm also sharing something I see all the time in my practice: high-protein, high-fat, low-carb diets that may be quietly getting in the way of your fertility. You'll learn how cutting carbs too low can slow down your thyroid and starve the good bacteria in your gut. You'll also hear why bringing balance back could be the gentle reset your body has been waiting for. Nourishing your fertility doesn't have to be complicated and I can't wait to share why.

Fresh off a trip to Florida, I came home and got hit with a flu so hard it knocked me off my feet for almost a week. It drained me physically, emotionally and mentally. As I slowly recovered, I kept thinking about you, because when you're trying to conceive, getting sick brings up a whole extra layer of worry. Will this mess up my cycle? Did I just lose this month? What if I conceived and I have a fever?
In today's episode, I explain what really happens in your body when you catch a virus. I also cover how a cold or flu can affect your cycle depending on whether you're in your follicular phase, around ovulation or in your two-week wait, and what the research says about implantation and early pregnancy. Then I share my top science-backed remedies for supporting your body through flu season, including the one supplement to use with caution in your luteal phase. Grab a cozy blanket and a cup of tea, and let's help you stay healthy and fertile this fall.

Season 5, Episode 204
Show notes
In today's episode, I'm sitting down with psychotherapist Laura Federico and midwife Morgan Miller, co-authors of The Cycle Book, and they are pulling back the curtain on PMS, PMDD, and a lesser-known pattern called PME that could be quietly running the show in your cycle.
We're also getting refreshingly honest about the pressure that trying to conceive can put on intimacy. Laura and Morgan help normalize the sexual and emotional side of this journey, and they share some alternative solutions you may not have considered. Are You Having a Miscarriage? What To Do, How To Heal and When To Get Help
Season 5, Episode 202
Show notes
If you're navigating a miscarriage, now or have in the past, this episode is for you. In today's episode I'm walking you through exactly what to expect and what to do, from the earliest signs and symptoms to be aware of, to how to nourish and rest your body through it, to the specific red flags that mean it's time to head to the hospital.
I'll also cover what to do with the supplements and prenatal vitamins you're already taking, how long a miscarriage typically lasts, when ongoing bleeding could mean you need more medical attention, and how soon you can expect your cycle to return.
I'm also breaking down something most women have never heard of, Products Of Conception (POC) testing and exactly how and when you can use it to get real answers from this loss. And if you've been through this once, or more times than you can bear to count, I'll be closing off with something I need you to hear: I've walked alongside many clients with sometimes up to five losses who went on to carry healthy babies to term naturally, and I want you to know this is possible for you too.

Debunking Your Top Fertility Myths with Dr. Sasha Hakman
Season 5, Episode 201
Show notes
Fertility myths are everywhere and this week, we're setting the record straight. I'm sitting down with Dr. Sasha Hakman, a double board-certified OB-GYN and reproductive endocrinologist who brings something rare to this conversation: she's not just the expert, she's also walked her own infertility journey.
Together we're busting the biggest myths keeping hopeful parents stuck, from how much prep time you actually need before trying to conceive, to why that period-tracking app on your phone might be leading you astray, to what really matters in a prenatal supplement.
Dr. Hakman also shares surprising research on toxin exposure and egg quality, gets real about the stress-fertility connection, tackles the exercise question everyone gets wrong, and explains why male fertility testing deserves way more attention than a basic "normal" result. If you've ever felt confused or unsure of your own body's signals, this episode hands you the clarity and confidence to advocate for yourself on this journey.

Hypothalemic Amenorrhea (HA) Mistaken for PMOS & How She Got Pregnant Naturally: Christine's Story
Season 5, Episode 200
Show notes
What happens when the diagnosis you're given doesn't actually fit your body? In today's episode, I'm interviewing my client Christine. She did everything "right" to start her family, but when her cycle didn't return after coming off birth control, she was quickly labeled with PCOS and told IVF was her only option. Something about that diagnosis didn't sit right with her and trusting that instinct changed everything. Through self-advocacy and after signing up for the Bronze package, we discovered she actually had hypothalamic amenorrhea (HA)
Christine's story is one of the most powerful examples of self-advocacy I've witnessed. From rethinking her approach to movement to making dietary shifts that felt counterintuitive at first, she helped her body remember how to do what it was designed to do.
But her path wasn't a straight line, there was heartbreak, and a turning point that changed everything. If you've ever felt dismissed by a diagnosis, Christine's journey is proof of what's possible when you keep asking questions, find the right practitioner and have deep commitment to this journey.

Is Ovulation Happening Without Release? What Luteinized Unruptured Follicle (LUF) Syndrome Means For Your Fertility
Season 5, Episode 199
Show notes
In today's episode I'm tackling a question that trips up even the most experienced cycle-trackers: can your chart look perfectly ovulatory and still, the egg was never actually released?
It sounds impossible, but it's a real, documented condition called Luteinized Unruptured Follicle Syndrome, or LUF syndrome. Today I'll be breaking down why ovulation, not your period, is the true main event of your cycle when you're trying to conceive, what's actually happening in your body when LUF syndrome occurs, how common it really is (the research on this might surprise you), the risk factors that can make it more likely, the diagnostic tools that can actually catch it, and what you can do if you suspect this might be part of your own story.
If you've been living inside unexplained infertility with charts that look completely normal and no real answers, this episode might just give you a clear path forward.

From a Long IVF Road to Conceiving Naturally When She Least Expected It: Alessandra's Story
Season 5, Episode 198
Show notes
In today's episode, my client Alessandra returns to share the raw, deeply personal evolution of her fertility journey, from the heartbreak of loss and a long road through IVF to the unexpected surprise of conceiving naturally when she least expected it. Today, we peel back the layers of what it really looks like to move through grief, release control, and rebuild trust in your body after everything you thought would work didn't.
We also explore the contrast between her two pregnancies, her first marked by intense medical intervention, anxiety, and physical strain, and the second unfolding with more ease, fewer symptoms, and a completely different emotional landscape.
This conversation is a powerful reminder that healing isn't linear, outcomes aren't always predictable, and with the right support and foundational shifts, your story can change in ways you never imagined.

The Stress You Don't Feel: Demystifying Cortisol, Adrenal Health & Time To Conception
Season 5, Episode 197
Show notes
In today's episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on the stress you don't feel, the kind that quietly hijacks your hormones, drains your adrenals, and can drag out your time to conception without you ever naming it as "stress."
I'm going to decode your nervous system in real-life terms, show how it flips you between "safe to make a baby" mode and "must survive" mode, and connect that directly to cortisol, adrenal health, and your fertility.
And then I'll walk you through how years of hustling, pushing through, and being the woman who "handles it all" can leave a fingerprint on your lab markers and how tools like the DUTCH test can finally reveal whether this invisible stress is one of the missing pieces in your fertility story.

Behind The Scenes of IVF Prep: PMOS, Male Factor Infertility & Their First-Round IVF Success (Emily's Story)
Season 5, Episode 196
Show notes
In this episode, I'm sitting down with my client Emily to share the real story behind her path to pregnancy and it's not as straightforward as it may seem.
What began as a proactive plan quickly turned into navigating a PCOS diagnosis, male factor infertility, and a fertility experience that left her feeling discouraged and dismissed. But instead of accepting that as her path, Emily chose to do things differently.
We take you behind the scenes of how we prepared both her and her husband for IVF, uncovering deeper imbalances through functional testing and focusing on the pieces that are so often overlooked with conventional care.
Emily also opens up about the moments that challenged her the most, what helped her stay grounded through the uncertainty, and the unexpected signs that kept her holding on.
Today's episode is a story about self advocacy, trust, and what can shift when you stop rushing the process and start supporting your body in a deeper way.

Surrender to your feminine frequency to help you conceive with Chelsea Ann
Season 5, Episode 195
Show notes
Today's episode invites you into a completely different way of thinking about fertility, motherhood, and what it really means to prepare for a child. I'm joined by Chelsea Ann O'Brien, an integrative medicine nurse practitioner who bridges clinical practice with Eastern spirituality, and together we explore the concept of "feminine frequency" and why so many women today feel disconnected from it.
If you've ever felt stuck in overthinking, control, or survival mode on your fertility journey, this conversation will likely land in a very real way. Chelsea shares how our modern conditioning pulls us into masculine patterns that can quietly disrupt our mental, emotional, physical, and even spiritual health and ultimately, our ability to conceive and carry with ease.
We talk about how your internal state shapes the environment your future child is being welcomed into, why surrender is not weakness but power, and how healing generational patterns plays a critical role in conscious motherhood. Through both science and story, she offers a grounded yet deeply expansive perspective on becoming the mother your child is already calling in.

Genetic carrier screening isn't just for people with a known family history. In fact, most carriers are completely healthy and have no idea they carry a genetic condition. So the question becomes: what don't you know and how could that information shape your choices?
In today's episode, I interview genetic counselor Janet Rosenfield, who brings over 40 years of clinical and teaching experience, and Orren Alperstein, founder of Canavan Foundation, whose personal connection to this work adds a powerful, human perspective. Together, we break down what carrier screening actually is, why timing matters, and how this information can shape your fertility journey.

Getting Pregnant After 35: The Functional Roadmap No One Gave You
Season 5, Episode 192

In today's episode, I am getting into one of the most requested topics, getting pregnant after 35. And I want to be clear right from the start, this is not a scary episode. This is an empowering one. We're going to talk about what's actually happening in your body as you age; the biology, the statistics, the real reasons conception can feel harder and I'm going to break it all down in a way that makes sense, gives you a roadmap, and honestly, gives you your power back.
And while there are never any guarantees in this journey, there is so much more within your control than you've been told.
I'll be covering the truth about natural conception rates through your reproductive years, why oxidative stress and chronic inflammation are two of the biggest silent disruptors and the functional testing approach I use with my clients that gets them pregnant. What if everything you were told about your fertility, wasn't the full picture? In today's episode, I'm sitting down with my client Brittany, who takes us behind the scenes of a journey that began with a PCOS diagnosis, one that didn't fully reflect what was actually happening in her body. This diagnosis was then followed by a devastating miscarriage and mounting pressure to move forward with IUI. But her story didn't end there.
What unfolded instead will challenge what you think you know about fertility diagnoses and timelines and what can shift when you get access to the right testing and work with someone who looks beyond just medical interventions.
We talk about the moment everything changed, when deeper testing revealed that her hormone levels didn't align with a PCOS diagnosis at all, and instead pointed to an entirely different root cause. We dive into her protocol that followed her comprehensive hormone testing, and the tension she navigated between her impatience to move forward with treatment and learning to trust me, the process and her body along the way.
Not that long ago, Brittany was exactly where you might be right now, searching for answers, weighing her options, and wondering what to do next. But when you trust your gut, find the right practitioner, and continue to surround yourself with success stories like hers, you're getting one step closer to getting and staying pregnant.

Clomid vs. Letrozole, is it worth it? The Fertility Shortcut that Might Be Setting You Back
Season 5, Episode 189
Show notes
Imagine this: after months of trying, you finally see your doctor, pour your heart out, and within minutes you're handed a prescription for Clomid or letrozole with the promise that it will "give you a boost."
But what if that supposed shortcut isn't actually a shortcut at all and might even be quietly working against your hormones, your uterine lining, and your long‑term chances of getting and staying pregnant?
In today's episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on what Clomid and letrozole really do in your brain and ovaries, how they can both help and hinder in medicated cycles, IUI, and IVF, the side effects you're rarely warned about, and what it means if you've done multiple rounds and still aren't pregnant.
If you've ever wondered, "Is this actually helping me… or could it be setting me back?", stay with me because by the end of this episode, you'll know which questions to ask and how to decide if these meds truly fit into your fertility strategy.

Why your fertile signs matter more than your health apps with Sabrina Nowicki
Season 5, Episode 188
Show notes
In a world where our watches, rings, and phones are constantly tracking our bodies, it's easy to forget that the most powerful "device" we have is our own body awareness. In today's episode, I'm sitting down with Sabrina Nowicki, CEO and co-founder of the Cyclicity app, to explore why understanding your fertile signs is still absolutely critical, even in the age of endless health data.
We dive into how your basal body temperature, cervical fluid, and other fertile signs give you real-time insight into what your hormones are doing in a way no algorithm can truly replicate.
Sabrina shares how Cyclicity is designed to teach you how to read your own chart, rather than just spit out predictions, and how that shifts you from being a passive app user to an active expert on your own cycle.
You'll also learn what your chart can reveal about stress, travel, sleep, diet, and even conditions like endometriosis & PCOS long before a generic app would ever flag that something's off. If you're curious whether all your wearable data is actually helping you, or if you're missing the deeper story your body is telling, this conversation is going to change the way you think about tracking your cycle.
