  1. Christopher Yuan: Holy Sexuality and the Design of God, Ep. 65

    Season 1, Episode 65

    Show notes

Dr. Christopher Yuan joins Joshua Broome for a conversation on the theology of sexuality. Christopher shares his story of being radically transformed by Jesus and how it reshaped his understanding of identity. Together they walk through God's design for sex, how single men and women with real desires can honor God with their bodies, and how the church should think about same sex attraction with both truth and compassion. Two very different stories meet at the same place: the sufficiency of Christ and the call to walk worthy of Him.
    Sathiya Sam
    Title: The Last Relapse
Description: Sathiya Sam, author of The Last Relapse and founder of DeepClean, joins Joshua Broome to talk about lasting freedom from pornography. Sathiya shares his own journey through relapse and recovery and explains why so many Christians remain stuck in cycles of shame and short lived victory. This conversation addresses what real transformation requires, the role of the gospel in breaking compulsive patterns, and how men and women can move from managing sin to walking in genuine freedom.

  3. Bryce Crawford interviews an OF Model, What happened at Cornell, and What Porn Is Teaching a Generation About Consent, Ep. 63

    Season 1, Episode 63

    Show notes

Two stories have dominated the headlines: Sophie Rain accusing Bryce Crawford of religion baiting on his podcast, and the gang rape allegations at Cornell's Chi Phi fraternity. On the surface they look unrelated, but they grow from the same root. This episode breaks down what the Pornhub purge revealed about consent, how porn has become the sex education of a generation, and why it teaches young men that a person is a product and that no means not yet. It is a call to truth and tenderness, and a reminder that Jesus restores the names objectification tries to erase.

  4. Dr. Derwin Gray: It's Time to Heal, Ep. 62

    Season 1, Episode 62

    Show notes

Pastor, author, and former NFL player Dr. Derwin Gray joins Joshua to talk about his new book, It's Time to Heal: Four God-Given Steps to Restore What Life Has Shattered. Derwin opens up about growing up surrounded by addiction, abuse, and violence, and walks through the four steps that spell HEAL: being honest about what happened, expecting the hard work healing requires, accepting without letting the past define your future, and learning to live from love instead of for it. Whether your wounds were done to you or done by you, this conversation is a reminder that you are not too far gone, and that in God's hands your scars can become your testimony.

  5. Drew Boa: Arousal versus Desire, Ep. 61

    Season 1, Episode 61

    Show notes

The conversation centers on the line between arousal and desire. Arousal is a physical response. Desire is the deeper longing underneath it, and it is almost never about sex. Drew explains what a man is actually reaching for when he reaches for porn, why the same trigger shows up in the same moments year after year, and how learning to read the behavior instead of just resisting it is what finally changes it.

They talk about why willpower produces exhaustion instead of freedom, what it means to heal the boy in order to free the man, why Drew calls relapse feedback rather than failure, and how self awareness, self compassion, and self regulation do the work that shame never could.

This one reframes the whole fight. You are not broken for wanting something. You have just been asking the wrong thing to give it to you.

  6. Dr. Steven Storage: A Psychiatrist Shares About New Findings Regarding ADHD and Pornography Addiction, Ep. 60

    Season 1, Episode 60

    Show notes

This conversation goes where most men are actually living. Why the feed hijacks attention through unpredictable reward. What escalation does to the brain over time. Why a man can stop being aroused by his own wife. How compulsive pornography use compares on imaging to alcohol and stimulants. And the question the DSM still refuses to answer, which Dr. Storage answers directly.

He explains what shame does in the brain and why it fuels the behavior it is trying to stop. Then he turns to repair. Whether the brain can heal, what the scans show after sustained abstinence, and where confession, community, and accountability fit inside a biological model of recovery.

He closes with a word for parents, a word for church leaders on how to receive a confession of sexual sin, and the one thing he wishes every man understood about his own mind.

Your brain is not broken beyond repair. But willpower alone was never going to be enough.

Joshua Broome walks through the ruling, answers the argument that this material is harmless because no real child is involved, and explains why 46 states have acted while four have not. 8. Rebecca Maxwell: Jesus and Your Mental Health, Ep. 58

    Season 1, Episode 58

    Show notes

Rebecca Maxwell is a licensed marriage and family therapist and the founder of Jacksonville Counseling Services. She spent fifteen years in church ministry before she ever sat in a counseling chair. She knows both rooms.

We get honest about what the research actually shows. What porn does to the brain. Whether it qualifies as a legitimate addiction. What addiction really is once you strip away the shame and the slogans.

Rebecca brings the neuroscience. Scripture brings the diagnosis. Both point to the same place. We were made to heal in connection, not in hiding. Information alone has never set anyone free. Isolation is where this grows. Confession is where it starts to die. And the love found in a relationship with Jesus is the answer most of us need most.

Jason VanRuler is a psychotherapist, author, and speaker specializing in communication, attachment, and relationships. He joins Joshua to walk through his new book on the five communication types, why the same words land differently depending on who is hearing them, and how knowing your type changes every conversation that matters. A man stands up and says he is six months sober from alcohol. The room applauds. A man stands up and says he is six months free from pornography. The room goes silent. Same courage. Season 1, Episode 54

    Show notes

It’s just a thought. Nobody’s getting hurt. It’s the lie the enemy has been whispering to Christians forever, and in the age of the smartphone, he’s turned the whisper into a broadcast. But what if the fantasy life isn’t the safe outlet you’ve been told it is? What if it’s actually the training ground for the life you’d never say you wanted? This episode opens the Bible to answer one question. What does Scripture really say about the imagination? Because what you rehearse in your mind, you eventually live out in your body. And the way you steward your imagination isn’t a side issue. It’s where the real fight is.

  15. Lee Shelton: How Pornography Became Normalized - Church History, Alfred Kinsey, and the Fight for a Biblical Sexual Ethic, Ep. 51

    Season 1, Episode 51

    Show notes

I sit down with my longtime friend Lee Shelton, creator of the documentary Unmentionable, to unpack the chronological history of pornography and how it became as widespread, normalized, and accessible as it is today.

Drawing from Lee’s research, conversations with church historians, and insights from historical experts, we look at how the Church has understood and defended a biblical sexual ethic throughout history. We also discuss what sexual morality looked like in ancient port cities like Corinth and Ephesus, and how the early Church stood apart in cultures marked by sexual confusion, exploitation, and distorted desire.

This conversation also examines the influence of Alfred Kinsey and the Kinsey Institute, including how his research shaped Western views of sexuality in the twentieth century. While Kinsey’s work has been treated by many as groundbreaking, it has also been deeply controversial because of the nature of his research, the darkness surrounding much of the data, and the lasting impact his conclusions had on sexual ethics in the West.

  16. Lee Shelton: Redeemed for a Purpose - From Brokenness to Advocacy, Ep. 50

    Season 1, Episode 50

    Show notes

In this special episode of Walk Worthy, I sit down with my longtime friend Lee Shelton, creator of the Unmentionable documentary series, for a personal and honest conversation about my story, my childhood, and the ways God has redeemed what was once broken.

We talk about what it was like growing up in the town I came from, how early wounds and unmet needs shaped some of the decisions I made, and how the grace of God met me in the middle of a life I never could have fixed on my own. This conversation is not about glorifying the past, but about magnifying the mercy of God and showing how He can bring purpose out of pain.

Lee and I also discuss how that redemption has led to a broader mission: helping expose the harm caused by pornography, advocating for the protection of children, and contributing to legislative efforts aimed at confronting exploitation. From testifying on Capitol Hill to sitting down with state representatives and partnering with others working to strengthen laws, I share how God has allowed my story to become part of a larger movement for truth, justice, and healing.

This episode is a reflection on redemption, responsibility, and the long work of rebuilding what broken systems have allowed to remain hidden for far too long.

  17. Your Desire Isn’t the Problem. Its Aim Is. Ep. 49

    Season 1, Episode 49

    Show notes

Disordered. It sounds like an insult. It is actually one of the most hopeful words in the Christian life. Your desire is not the enemy. God gave it to you. The problem was never that you want. The problem is that your wanting got aimed at the wrong thing.

In this episode, Joshua Broome takes on the question people are too nervous to ask out loud. Is reading romance novels really any different than looking at pornography? The honest answer is uncomfortable. They are not identical, but the place they are closest is the heart, and respectable sin is the most dangerous kind, because nobody repents of something they have already decided is fine.

Here is the trap. Disordered desire overpromises and underdelivers, every time. You do not beat it by wanting less. You beat it by re-aiming what you want. This one is about getting your loves back in order. We do this through making God’s perfect love the foundation which you base your understanding of love.

  18. If God Is a Vending Machine, So Is Everyone Else, Ep. 48

    Season 1, Episode 48

    Show notes

Most of us are praying to a god we have never actually examined. Put in good behavior, expect good outcomes. Stay clean, expect the blessing. Mess up, and brace for the bill. We would never say it out loud, but a lot of us treat God like a vending machine.

In this episode, Joshua Broome traces what that one belief quietly does to everything else. A transactional view of God does not stay in your prayer life. It turns friendship into scorekeeping, dating into building credit you expect someone to pay back, and marriage into two people standing across from each other with their ledgers open. Add a view of sex shaped by pornography, and that system becomes a wrecking ball against the people you love most.

But the real God was never a transaction. He loved you while your hands were empty, and He paid in full. This one is about trading the vending machine for grace.

Two men, opposite ends, same question, grace for the one who has already fallen.

    Season 1, Episode 46

    Show notes

From the outside my life looked like a win. On the inside I was running on empty.

For years I fought a battle with my mental health that nobody around me could see. I had everything I was supposed to want, and I woke up emptier every morning. I learned how to perform being okay while quietly falling apart.

In this episode I tell the whole story. How the heaviness crept in slowly until it felt normal. The lies that kept me hidden. The one person who refused to flinch when I finally told the truth. And what actually started to heal me, because healing was not a moment. It was a road, and I’m still walking it.

If you’ve been carrying something heavy and pretending you’re fine, this one is for you. Getting help is not weakness. It is not a lack of faith. It is one of the bravest things you will ever do.

You don’t have to carry it alone.
