When Your Body Changes the Rules: Ayurveda Provides Support
Episode 468
Show notes
Have you ever noticed that something that used to work beautifully for your body no longer does?
Perhaps the way you eat, your exercise routine, your sleep habits or even how you manage stress needs to change. Maybe you don't recover as quickly as you used to, or your body responds differently to foods, alcohol, heat or a busy schedule.
It's easy to interpret these changes as a problem and try to get back to the way things used to be. But what if your body hasn't failed you? What if it's simply giving you new information?
In this episode Colette explores how Ayurveda can help us understand our changing needs and develop a more responsive relationship with our bodies. Rather than following rigid rules or repeating old habits simply because they worked in the past, we can learn to listen, adapt and make choices that support the person we are today.
In this episode, you'll discover:
• When your body changes the rules: Why the foods, routines and activities that once supported you may no longer be right for you.
• Understanding prakriti and vikriti: How your Ayurvedic constitution remains your foundation, while your current state of balance can change with age, hormones, stress, lifestyle and environment.
• Why old solutions don't always work: How to recognise when it's time to reconsider your diet, exercise, workload, rest or other daily habits.
• My personal experience of perimenopause: How my Pitta/Kapha constitution shaped my expectations, the changes I've made to support myself, and what I've learned about listening to my body.
• Moving beyond the need to optimise everything: Why curiosity, awareness and self-trust can be more valuable than constantly trying to fix ourselves.
• Adapting without losing yourself: How changing your habits and priorities can help you remain true to yourself without being tied to an older version of who you were.Elements of Ayurveda Podcast Community

What Comes After the Reset? Making Ayurvedic Habits Sustainable
Episode 467
Show notes
What happens after a cleanse or digestive reset? Have you ever finished a reset feeling better, more connected to your body and more aware of what supports you, only to gradually slip back into the habits and patterns that may have contributed to imbalance in the first place?
A reset can create a valuable pause. It can help you notice your digestion, energy, appetite, cravings, sleep and how different foods affect you. But the real value of that awareness is what you do with it when you return to everyday life. In this episode, we explore how to take what you've learned during a reset and turn it into sustainable Ayurvedic habits, without restriction, perfection or constantly needing to start over.
In this episode, you'll discover:
• How a reset can deepen your awareness and connection with your body
• Why Ayurvedic food guidance isn't about creating a lifetime list of forbidden foods
• How an 80/20 approach can create flexibility without deprivation
• Why small, ordinary daily habits can be more sustainable than dramatic changes
• Moving from doing to listening and developing greater intuition and self-knowledge
• Questions you can ask yourself after a reset to understand what your body has been telling you
• Why the true purpose of a reset may be to help you come back to yourselfMentioned in this episode...

The Brain's Lymphatic System: An Ayurvedic Understanding with Dr. John Douillard
Episode 466
Show notes
What if your brain has its own system for clearing waste and the health of that system is connected to your digestion, emotions, breathing and sleep?
In this episode, I'm joined by Dr. John Douillard, Ayurvedic longevity expert, to explore the fascinating lymphatic system of the brain and how Ayurveda offers a different way of understanding this important process.
Dr. John was previously my guest in Episode 388, Rethinking Gluten Through an Ayurvedic Lens, where we discussed his research connecting wheat and the brain's lymphatic system. In this conversation, we take that exploration much deeper.
We begin by looking at what modern science understands about the brain's lymphatic system and then explore how Ayurveda has understood lymph, digestion and the movement of nutrients and waste through the body.
Dr. John introduces the Ayurvedic concept of Sara, or Ahara Rasa, the first emotionally charged digestive fluid produced from the food we eat and explains its connection to the lymphatic system and the emotional centres of the brain.
We also explore the fascinating relationship between chronic stress, the diaphragm, breathing, sleep and brain lymphatic drainage, and why the health of our digestive fire, or Agni, may be important when we think about lymphatic congestion.
This conversation offers a fascinating intersection between ancient Ayurvedic understanding and emerging modern science and some simple ways we can support the natural drainage and cleansing processes of the brain.
In this episode, we discuss:
• What the brain's lymphatic system is and why it matters
• How Ayurveda understands lymph and its role in the body
• Differences between the Ayurvedic and Western scientific understanding of lymphatic function
• Sara (Ahara Rasa) and its role as the first digestive fluid produced from food
• The connection between brain lymph and the emotional centres of the limbic system
• How chronic stress can affect the diaphragm, breathing, sleep and brain lymphatic drainage
• The relationship between Agni, digestion and lymphatic congestion
• How supporting digestion may also support healthy lymphatic flow
• Practical ways to encourage healthy brain lymphatic drainage
• Why sleep, breathing and our ability to manage stress may be more important to brain health than we realiseGuest Links

Rethinking Protein: An Ayurvedic Perspective on Individual Digestive Capacity with Dr. Varalakshmi
Episode 465
Show notes
Protein has become one of the biggest conversations in modern nutrition. We're constantly being told to eat more protein, prioritise protein at every meal, choose certain protein sources or turn to protein powders to meet our daily needs.
But Ayurveda asks us to look at food differently. Rather than focusing only on how much protein we consume, Ayurveda encourages us to consider our individual digestive capacity, our current state of balance, and the qualities of the foods we are eating.
In this episode, I'm joined by Dr. Varalakshmi Yanamandra, BAMS, an Ayurvedic Doctor with 15 years of clinical experience across the UK, to explore protein through an Ayurvedic lens.
We discuss why understanding your Agni (digestive fire) is so important, how your current Vikriti (state of imbalance) can influence your ability to digest and assimilate food, and why there is no one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition.
We also explore the Ayurvedic concept of Gunas, or qualities, and how understanding the qualities of different foods can help you make more informed choices for your unique constitution and current needs.
Most importantly, this conversation is an invitation to step away from the noise and develop a deeper awareness of your own body and digestive capacity.
In this episode, we explore:
• Why understanding your individual Agni (digestive fire) and digestive capacity is so important.
• How your current Vikriti (state of imbalance) can influence your ability to digest, absorb and assimilate food.
• How understanding the Gunas (qualities) can help you make choices that are appropriate for your unique constitution and current needs.
• The different qualities of protein sources including animal protein, eggs, tofu, dairy, legumes and protein powders.
• Ayurvedic principles around food combining and protein.
• Signs that your body may be struggling to digest a particular protein source.
• How food preparation and meal timing can support the digestion and assimilation of protein.
• Why looking beyond the numbers and learning to understand your own body can help you develop greater self-trust around food and nutrition. This isn't about deciding whether protein is "good" or "bad," or giving you another set of rules to follow. It's about learning to ask better questions: What can I digest? What nourishes me? What is appropriate for me right now?
Because when we understand our own constitution and digestive capacity, we can begin to make food choices from a place of awareness rather than simply following the latest nutritional trend.

Preparing Your Body for Change: An Ayurvedic Approach
Episode 464
Show notes
Have you ever decided that you need to make a change and then wanted to change everything at once?
Maybe you decide you're going to eat better, exercise more, get to bed earlier, drink less alcohol, meditate every day or finally get yourself organised. We can become so focused on the result that we overlook the process of getting there.
In Ayurveda, sustainable change isn't about forcing the body into a completely different way of being. It's about understanding where we are, listening to the body and creating the conditions that allow change to happen.
In this episode, we explore why preparation is such an important part of an Ayurvedic reset and why this principle extends far beyond cleansing. Whether you're changing your eating habits, sleep, exercise, workload, relationship with technology or something more personal, the way you approach change can influence how sustainable it becomes.
In this episode, we explore:
• Why we're often drawn to dramatic transformation and immediate results
• The difference between forcing change and supporting change
• Why sustainable change requires the body and mind to adapt
• How Prakriti and Vikriti help us understand our individual needs
• The role of Agni in preparing the body for change
• How reducing excess stimulation can create more space for the body and nervous system
• Preparing the mind and moving away from perfectionism, punishment and rigid rules
• Approaching a reset with curiosity rather than focusing solely on results
• How self-awareness can gradually develop into self-trust
• Creating an environment that makes sustainable change more realistic
• Why a health plan needs room for observation and adjustment
• Learning to listen to what your body is telling you rather than simply following the rulesJoin the Autumn Digestive Reset Cleanse

What Happens When You Give Your Digestive System a Break? | An Ayurvedic Insight
Episode 463
Show notes
What happens when you stop asking your digestive system to constantly do more?
In Ayurveda, digestion is about far more than what happens in your gut. Agni, often translated as digestive fire, is the force of transformation, the process through which we digest, absorb, process and transform what we take in. And because we are constantly taking in more than just food, Ayurveda views digestion as something that can influence the whole system.
In this episode, we explore what can happen when we give digestion a little more space, simplicity and rhythm.
Colette covers the following:
• Why Agni is about much more than digesting food
• How modern lifestyles can place additional demands on digestion
• The Ayurvedic concept of Ama and why it is often misunderstood
• The connection between digestion, energy and mental clarity
• Why Ayurveda looks at digestion as part of the bigger picture rather than simply focusing on the gut
• How simplifying food, routines and daily habits can support digestion
• What you can learn about yourself when you give your digestive system a break
• How a seasonal reset can provide an opportunity to pause, adapt and reconnect with your body's signals
• Why self-awareness and self-trust are ultimately more important than following someone else's perfect routineJoin the Autumn Digestive Reset Cleanse

Why an Ayurvedic Seasonal Reset Is More Than a Cleanse
Episode 462
Show notes
What if you didn't wait until your body was struggling before you gave it a reset?
In our modern world, we often think of a cleanse or reset as something we need to do after we've overindulged, eaten too much sugar, gained weight, or simply "fallen off the wagon." But Ayurveda takes a different, more preventative approach.
Because we are part of nature, the changing seasons affect us too, influencing our digestion, energy, routines, appetite, sleep and overall balance. In this episode, Colette explores why the transition between seasons is such an important time to pause, listen to the body, simplify and support ourselves through change.
An Ayurvedic seasonal reset is about much more than a cleanse or detox. Through the Ayurvedic principle of ritucharya, adapting our lifestyle according to the seasons, we can become more aware of how our bodies respond to environmental changes and make adjustments before imbalance becomes more established.
Colette explores the relationship between the seasons and the doshas, why supporting agni (digestive fire) is central to an Ayurvedic reset, and why cleansing should include preparation, simplicity, digestion, elimination and, importantly, rejuvenation. You'll also discover how a seasonal reset can become a powerful practice of preventative health rather than something we only turn to when something goes wrong.
In this episode, you'll discover:
• Why Ayurveda takes a preventative approach to health and wellbeing
• How seasonal changes can influence our bodies, digestion, energy and daily routines
• The Ayurvedic concept of ritucharya and adapting our lifestyle with the seasons
• How the doshas can accumulate and become aggravated during seasonal transitions
• Why subtle changes in digestion can be signals that your body is adapting to a new season
• Why simplifying food, routines and stimulation can support the body during seasonal change
• What an Ayurvedic digestive reset involves beyond simply "detoxing"
• Why supporting digestion and elimination is an important part of a seasonal reset
• Why the process doesn't end when the cleanse ends
• The importance of rejuvenation and rebuilding after cleansing
• Why you don't need to wait until something is wrong before supporting your health
• How to make a seasonal reset personal to your constitution, lifestyle and individual needsJoin the Autumn Digestive Reset Cleanse

Why Less Can Sometimes Heal More: The Wisdom of Ayurvedic Simplicity
Episode 461
Show notes
Have you ever noticed that when you're not feeling your best, your instinct is to do more?
Another supplement, another diet, another wellness routine or maybe another expert to follow. But what if your body doesn't need more from you right now? What if it needs less?
In this episode, Colette explores the Ayurvedic wisdom of simplicity and why creating space can sometimes be more supportive than continually adding more. Ayurveda reminds us that the body is constantly processing; not only food, but also information, experiences, emotions, stimulation and the demands of everyday life.
When there is too much coming in and not enough capacity to process it, we can begin to feel overwhelmed, disconnected and depleted. Creating space can give the body an opportunity to digest, process and eliminate what it no longer needs, while also creating room for intuition, clarity and creativity to emerge.
In this episode, you'll discover:
• Why our instinct to add more isn't always the answer when something isn't working
• The Ayurvedic understanding of Agni and why digestive capacity matters
• How we can become overwhelmed by the constant input of modern life
• Why simplicity can reduce the energy required to navigate our daily lives
• The difference between restriction and simplification
• How Ayurveda understands Ama as residue or accumulation from what has not been properly digested or processed
• Why creating space can support digestion, processing and elimination
• How mental and emotional "clutter" can make it harder to hear our intuition
• Why creativity often needs space rather than more stimulation
• How a seasonal reset can help us step back from unnecessary demands
• Why your body doesn't always need another protocol, supplement, diet or wellness routine
• Three simple questions to ask before adding something new to your health routineJoin the Autumn Digestive Reset Cleanse

When Healthy Habits Stop Working: An Ayurvedic Perspective
Episode 460
Show notes
You eat well, exercise regularly, meditate, manage your stress and genuinely try to take care of yourself, so why don't you feel better?
Sometimes, the answer isn't that you need to try harder or add another healthy habit. Through the Ayurvedic lens, there may be another question worth asking: Does your body currently have the capacity to digest, process and assimilate everything you're giving it?
In this episode, Colette explores why healthy habits can sometimes stop feeling helpful and how factors such as stress, sensory input, lifestyle, seasonal changes, accumulation and digestive capacity can influence how we experience our health and wellbeing. You'll learn more about the Ayurvedic concepts of Agni and Ama, why digestion involves more than just the food we eat, and why sometimes creating space, simplifying our routines and reducing unnecessary inputs can be more supportive than continually adding more.
In this episode, we explore:
• Why doing "all the right things" doesn't always mean you'll feel your best
• The Ayurvedic concept of Agni and our capacity to digest, metabolise and process
• What Ama means within the Ayurvedic understanding of incomplete digestion and metabolism
• How accumulation can occur when we're continually taking in more than we have the capacity to process
• Why stress and nervous system load can change the way we experience digestion
• Why how you eat can be just as important as what you eat
• How your digestive capacity can change with your stress, sleep, activity, age, lifestyle and the seasons
• Why sometimes the body needs less stimulation, less input and more space
• How simplifying your routine can support digestion, elimination and restorationJoin the Autumn Digestive Reset Cleanse

Maybe you've been living with bloating, poor sleep, low energy, headaches or digestive discomfort for so long that it has simply become your normal. You know something feels different, but life is busy, there are people depending on you, and there's always something else that seems more important.
In Episode 458, we explored how Ayurveda views symptoms as messages from the body rather than problems to simply suppress. In this episode, we take the conversation a step further and explore why we so often ignore those messages in the first place.
We've become fluent in the language of productivity, achievement and pushing through, but many of us have lost our fluency in the language of the body. We learn to override tiredness, rush through meals, ignore digestive discomfort and tell ourselves that poor sleep is "just stress" or that feeling exhausted is simply part of getting older.
Colette shares some of the patterns she has observed through her work with clients, including how easily we can adapt to feeling less well and gradually lower our expectations of what it means to feel healthy and balanced.
In this episode, we'll explore:
• Why we become accustomed to ignoring the body's early signals
• The psychology behind saying "I'm fine" when we're actually exhausted
• How modern life encourages us to push through and prioritise productivity
• Why symptoms can gradually become so normal that we stop questioning them
• The connection between youthful vitality and our ability to compensate for imbalance
• Why some of the habits we tolerated when we were younger may affect us differently as we age
• How Ayurveda encourages curiosity rather than judgement
• Why awareness is the first step towards meaningful change
• How to become more fluent in the language of your own body

What Is Your Body Trying to Tell You? An Ayurvedic Perspective on Symptoms
Episode 458
Show notes
Have you ever wished a symptom would simply disappear?
Whether it's bloating, fatigue, headaches, restless sleep or digestive discomfort, our first instinct is often to silence the discomfort and get on with our busy lives. But what if those symptoms aren't the problem? What if they're messages?
Colette explores one of Ayurveda's most profound teachings: that symptoms are not random inconveniences to suppress but meaningful signals that the body is communicating an imbalance. Rather than fighting our symptoms, Ayurveda invites us to become curious and ask, "What is my body trying to communicate?"
You'll discover how Ayurveda helps us understand the body's language of imbalance, why we often ignore its early warning signs, and how seasonal changes can influence our health. Colette also explores why fatigue, bloating and even pain may be invitations to slow down, pay attention and make small adjustments before imbalances become more significant.
Whether you're completely new to Ayurveda or have been practicing for years, this episode offers a compassionate reminder that your body isn't working against you, it's working for you. By learning to listen with curiosity rather than fear, you can begin developing a deeper relationship with your body and support your wellbeing from the inside out.
In this episode, you'll learn:
• Why Ayurveda views symptoms as communication rather than problems to eliminate.
• How to recognize the body's early whispers before they become louder signals.
• Why fatigue, bloating and pain aren't necessarily the problem, they're valuable information.
• How seasonal changes can influence Pitta, Kapha and Vata, and what that may look like in your own body.
• Why modern life encourages us to ignore our body's wisdom.
• The importance of responding with curiosity instead of criticism.
• The two fundamental questions Ayurveda asks when understanding imbalance.
• Simple ways to begin listening to your body's innate intelligence.Register for the Autumn Digestive Reset Cleanse

Rebuilding Self-Trust Through Ayurveda
Episode 456
Show notes
Have you ever found yourself ignoring your body's signals, overriding your intuition, or constantly looking outside yourself for the "right" answer?
In our modern world, we're surrounded by advice on what to eat, how to exercise, and the perfect wellness routine to follow. While information can be incredibly valuable, it can also disconnect us from the most important source of wisdom we have, ourselves.
In this episode, Colette explores why self-trust lies at the heart of healing and how Ayurveda gently guides us back to our own inner wisdom. Rather than encouraging dependence on practitioners or protocols, Ayurveda teaches us to become students of ourselves through observation, awareness, and consistent daily practices.
Whether you're new to Ayurveda or have been practicing for years, this episode is a gentle reminder that your inner wisdom hasn't disappeared, it may simply need your attention.
In this episode, you'll discover:
• Why self-trust is one of the foundations of healing
• How modern life encourages us to override our body's natural signals
• The hidden cost of constantly seeking external answers
• Why Ayurveda is a personalized system of health rather than a one-size-fits-all approach
• How observation and self-awareness help strengthen intuition
• Why symptoms can be viewed as valuable messages from the body
• The importance of dinacharya (daily routine) in rebuilding trust with yourself

The Hidden Energy Leaks That Keep You Stuck
Episode 455
Show notes
Do you ever feel too exhausted, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself to even think about doing the things that you know would support your wellbeing?
In this episode, Colette discusses the hidden energy leaks that quietly drain our vitality every day. These aren't always the obvious things like missing a night's sleep or skipping a meal. They're the subtle habits, thought patterns, and daily demands that slowly drain your vitality without you even noticing. They often go unnoticed because they've become part of our normal way of living.
Through the Ayurvedic lens of Prana, the life force energy that animates the body and mind, Colette explores how these hidden energy leaks can leave us feeling scattered, depleted, and disconnected from our inner wisdom.
In this episode, you'll discover:
• What prana is and why protecting it is essential for wellbeing
• How people pleasing and self-abandonment drain your energy
• Why doom scrolling and digital overload fragment the mind
• The energetic impact of physical and mental clutter
• How decision fatigue contributes to exhaustion
• Why unresolved emotions consume your energy
• The importance of routine and rhythm in Ayurveda
• Why consistency often creates more transformation than perfection
• A simple question to help identify where your energy may be leakingRather than focusing on what you need to add to your life, this episode invites you to consider what may need to be released. Because sometimes healing doesn't come from doing more. Sometimes it comes from stopping the things that are quietly draining your vitality.

When Life Gets Busy: Practicing Ayurveda in the Real World
Episode 454
Show notes
Do you find it easy to follow your Ayurvedic routines when life is calm, only to watch them disappear when things get busy?
Perhaps you're travelling, caring for family, juggling work responsibilities, navigating a major life transition, or simply trying to keep up with the demands of everyday life. Suddenly, the morning routine feels impossible, meals become irregular, and self-care is pushed to the bottom of the list.
In this episode, Colette explores one of the biggest misconceptions about Ayurveda: the belief that we need to practice it perfectly for it to be effective. She shares why Ayurveda was designed for real life, not ideal circumstances and how small, consistent practices can support balance even during life's busiest seasons.
This episode is a gentle reminder that Ayurveda isn't reserved for calm, quiet days. In fact, it's often the busy, messy, imperfect days when we need its wisdom most.
In this episode, you'll learn:
• Why life naturally moves through seasons that require different levels of structure and flexibility
• The myth of the "perfect" Ayurvedic routine
• How awareness, not perfection, is the true goal of Ayurvedic living
• Why small daily practices can have a profound impact on wellbeing
• How to identify your Ayurvedic non-negotiables during busy periods
• The power of consistency and the "minimum effective dose" approach to self-care
• Why we often abandon the very practices that support us most
• Practical Ayurvedic wisdom for navigating the intensity of summer and excess Pitta energy

Living an Authentic Life with Ayurveda
Episode 450
Show notes
The word authenticity can sometimes feel overused, misunderstood, or even a little cliché. Yet beneath the buzzword lies a profound question: Who are you underneath all the layers of conditioning, expectations, habits, and beliefs you've accumulated throughout your life?
In this episode, Colette explores how Ayurveda offers a unique framework for uncovering your authentic self. Rather than becoming someone new, Ayurveda encourages us to peel back the layers that obscure our true nature and reconnect with who we've always been. She discusses the importance of understanding your unique constitution (Prakriti), restoring balance before seeking clarity, and cultivating awareness through sustainable daily practices that support physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
In this episode, you'll learn:
• Why the concept of authenticity is often misunderstood
• How Ayurveda views authenticity as a process of remembering rather than becoming
• The role of Prakriti (your unique constitution) in living an aligned life
• Why comparing yourself to others can create unnecessary suffering
• How societal conditioning can pull you away from your true nature
• The connection between healing, balance, and self-awareness
• Why symptoms such as fatigue, anxiety, pain, digestive issues, and brain fog can make self-discovery more difficult
• How restoring balance creates the foundation for clarity and resilience
• Why awareness is one of Ayurveda's most powerful tools for transformation
• The importance of becoming a student of your own experience

An Ayurvedic Guide to Vata, Pitta and Kapha Skin Types
Episode 451
Show notes
Have you ever wondered if your skin is trying to tell you something?
In this episode, Colette continues the conversation on Ayurvedic skin health following her interview with Vaidya Kamya Pillai on the gut-skin connection in episode 447. While many of us are taught to focus on skincare products to address dryness, breakouts, redness, or sensitivity, Ayurveda encourages us to look beneath the surface and explore what these symptoms may be communicating about our overall health.
Colette explores how imbalances in the doshas of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha can manifest in the skin and how understanding the underlying causes can help us better support our skin and our wellbeing. She discusses the relationship between skin health and digestion, the nervous system, stress, life stages, seasonal influences, and the Ayurvedic principle that symptoms are often messages rather than problems to eliminate.
In this episode, you'll learn:
• Why Ayurveda views the skin as a reflection of internal health
• How Vata imbalance may contribute to dryness, sensitivity, and premature aging
• How Pitta imbalance can manifest as inflammation, redness, acne, and skin reactivity
• How Kapha imbalance may lead to congestion, oiliness, puffiness, and sluggish skin
• How seasonal changes influence the skin
• Why skin concerns often change throughout different stages of life
• The Ayurvedic principle of using opposite qualities to restore balance
• How to begin listening to the messages your skin may be sendingWhether you're experiencing acne, rosacea, dryness, sensitivity, inflammation, congestion, or simply want to better understand your skin through the lens of Ayurveda, this episode offers practical insights and a deeper perspective on cultivating health and radiance from within.

Letting Go of Optimization: Returning to Body Wisdom
Episode 447
Show notes
Are you living by your body's wisdom or by your data?
In today's wellness culture, we're encouraged to track, measure, monitor, and optimize almost every aspect of our lives. Sleep scores, step counts, fasting windows, heart rate variability, recovery metrics, calorie burn, protein intake, the list seems endless.
While technology can offer valuable insights, many people are finding themselves increasingly disconnected from the very thing that matters most, their relationship with their own body.
In this episode, Colette explores the growing culture of self-optimization through the lens of Ayurveda and nervous system health. Drawing on her own experience as a former triathlete whose pursuit of performance ultimately led to burnout, she shares how Ayurveda helped her move from rigid self-monitoring to embodied self-awareness.
This conversation is not about rejecting technology. It's about remembering that health is not a collection of numbers. Ayurveda teaches us that true wellbeing is dynamic, individual, seasonal, and deeply connected to our ability to listen to our body's changing needs.
Colette explores how constant tracking can sometimes shift from awareness into hypervigilance, why optimization culture particularly impacts Vata and Pitta types, and how external metrics can unintentionally override intuition, self-trust, and nervous system regulation.
In this episode, you'll learn:
• How optimization culture can disconnect us from our body's innate wisdom
• The difference between self-awareness and self-surveillance
• Why wearables and health metrics don't tell the full story
• How Vata and Pitta tendencies can become amplified through chronic self-monitoring
• Why Ayurveda views health as contextual, seasonal, and individualized
• The connection between nervous system safety and healing
• How to rebuild trust in your body's internal feedback systems
• Why balance is responsive rather than rigid
• The importance of pleasure, flexibility, and humanity in long-term wellbeing
• Gentle ways to reconnect with your intuition and embodied awarenessThis episode is an invitation to step away from the pressure to constantly improve yourself and instead cultivate a deeper relationship with your body. Because some of the most important aspects of health, joy, connection, peace, ease, and presence, can never be fully measured, but they can be deeply felt.
