  1. Ep 25: The Art of Fascia Alchemy: Trusting Your Hands & Intuition with Dani Granaroli

    Show notes

What if becoming a powerful bodywork practitioner wasn't about memorizing more techniques, but learning to trust your hands, your intuition, and the wisdom of the body?

In this episode of the Homestead & Heal Podcast, I'm joined by my dear friend, colleague, and Fascia Alchemy co-teacher, Dani Granaroli, for a conversation about the art of intuitive bodywork, deep inner transformation, and what it means to truly listen to the body.

Dani is a bodyworker and coach whose work lives at the intersection of fascia, the nervous system, and deep inner change. Blending myofascial release, breathwork, intuitive bodywork, and transformational and shadow-based coaching, she helps people connect with the wisdom of their bodies, explore the patterns that keep them stuck, and cultivate greater trust, autonomy, and freedom within themselves.
Together, we explore our personal journeys into healing work, the importance of moving beyond rigid protocols, and how curiosity, intuition, and connection can open the door to profound transformation. We also discuss the power of creating spaces where people can meet the tender, uncomfortable, and often overlooked parts of themselves with greater compassion and radical approval.

We take you behind the scenes of our Fascia Alchemy Professional Bodywork Training, sharing how this unique approach combines hands-on learning, intuitive exploration, community, and ongoing mentorship to help practitioners develop confidence and discover their own art of working with the body.

    In this episode, we explore:

    • Dani's personal journey into bodywork, coaching, and transformational healing.
    • The relationship between fascia, the nervous system, and the patterns we carry in our bodies.
    • Why learning to trust your hands and intuition is just as important as learning techniques.
    • Moving beyond rigid protocols to honor each person's unique experiences and needs.
    • The importance of curiosity, connection, and self-trust in the healing process.
    • How personal transformation and professional growth often unfold together.
    • Why intimate learning environments, mentorship, and integration are central to the Fascia Alchemy experience.
    • What makes Fascia Alchemy different from traditional bodywork trainings and what to expect from the upcoming program.

  4. Ep 22: Eat to Live: Reclaiming Your Relationship With Food with Katrina Bernal

    Show notes

What does it actually mean to have a healthy relationship with food?

In this episode, Lindsay and Scott sit down with Katrina — farmer, mother, food lover, and the woman behind Meaty Mama — for a conversation about food that goes far beyond what we should or shouldn't be eating.

Katrina shares her journey from growing up between Colombian, Finnish, and Canadian cultures, to studying geochemistry, landing on an organic farm, moving to France, and eventually building a farm and family of her own.

She also opens up about the evolution of her relationship with food — from years of plant-based eating to embracing meat and nutrient-dense foods, experimenting with more extreme approaches, and eventually realizing that eating the “right” foods was only one piece of the puzzle.

Because our relationship with food isn't only about what is on our plate.

It's also about how we feel when we eat.

The guilt. The restriction. The comfort. The pleasure. The stories we've inherited. The signals coming from our bodies. And the amount of mental space food can take up in our lives.

Together, we explore what it can look like to come back into a more connected, nourishing relationship with food — one rooted in quality ingredients, body awareness, pleasure, moderation, family culture, and the land itself.

    We talk about:

    • Katrina's Colombian + Finnish roots and the food memories that shaped her
    • Going from a city girl in Toronto to farming in the French countryside
    • Her evolution from plant-based eating to a meat-centered approach
    • The difference between nourishing yourself and obsessing over food
    • Emotional eating, restriction, guilt + learning to listen to your body
    • Why food quality changes the experience of eating
    • Raising children with a grounded relationship to food
    • Creating a family food culture without perfection or rigidity
    • Slowing down enough to actually experience our meals
    • Simple “slow fast food” and making nourishing meals realistic
    • Fermentation, meat stock + foods that can't simply be bought
    • Learning to love the foods that make you feel good
    • Why small, sustainable shifts can be more powerful than changing everything overnight

Katrina also shares about her new program, Reclaim Your Love Story With Food, where she'll bring together nourishment, body connection, cooking skills, microbiome health, and family food culture in a small, intimate group experience.

This conversation is an invitation to look beyond the rules and ask a deeper question:

What would it feel like to be truly nourished by your food — without having your life revolve around it?

  5. Ep 21: What Seeds Can Teach Us About Our Bodies & the Earth with Kay'aleya Hunnybee

    Show notes

What can seeds teach us about our bodies, our relationship with the Earth, and trusting the timing of our lives?

In this episode, Lindsay and Scott sit down with clinical herbalist, integrative health educator, bodyworker, and Herbal Womb Wisdom podcast host Kay’aleya Hunnybee for a winding conversation about plants, womb wisdom, seed keeping, and what it means to live in deeper relationship with the Earth.

Kay’aleya shares the unexpected path that brought her from growing up in New York City with very little relationship to plants, to farming in India, studying birth work and midwifery, practicing herbalism and bodywork, and eventually spending years immersed in the world of seed keeping.

Together, they explore the magic held within a seed, the parallels between seed keeping and midwifery, the wisdom of our bodies and the Earth, and why sometimes the most important thing we can do is slow down enough to listen.

    In this episode, we explore:

    • Kay’aleya’s journey from feeling disconnected from plants to building a life deeply rooted in relationship with the Earth
    • How farming in India transformed her understanding of plants and agriculture
    • Her path through birth work, midwifery, herbalism, and bodywork
    • Seed keeping as a form of “seed midwifery”
    • The ancestral and cultural stories carried through seeds
    • Trusting the timing of seeds, bodies, and natural cycles
    • Allowing ourselves to experience fallow seasons
    • Why observation and listening can be some of our greatest teachers
    • Letting go of the pressure to move quickly and remembering that it’s okay for things to take time

  6. Ep 20: The Missing Pieces of Women’s Health: Ayurveda, Digestion, Pelvic Health + Herbs with Adena Rose Bright

    Show notes

In this episode, Lindsay and Scott sit down with Adena Rose Bright, an Ayurveda practitioner, educator, and women’s health practitioner with nearly two decades of clinical experience.

Together, they explore what it looks like to live in deeper relationship with the body, the seasons, and the natural world - and how Ayurveda can offer a practical framework for understanding women’s health through every season of life.

Adina shares how her own journey through painful periods, conception, pregnancy, postpartum, and now midlife shaped the work she does today. The conversation moves through digestion, pelvic health, herbal medicine, postpartum depletion, seasonal transitions, and why so many health challenges can’t be understood by looking at one isolated part of the body.

They also talk about the importance of becoming an active participant in your own healing — not rejecting modern medicine, but building enough body awareness, practical knowledge, and self-trust to have more choice in how you care for yourself.

    In this episode, they explore:

    • How Ayurveda approaches women’s health and seasonal wellness
    • Why digestion is considered foundational to overall health
    • Simple Ayurvedic practices for transitioning into fall and colder weather
    • The relationship between digestion, pelvic health, inflammation, and the nervous system
    • Adina’s experience healing painful periods and reconnecting with her body
    • Postpartum depletion, anxiety, and the plant medicine that became a turning point for her
    • Motherwort, herbal medicine, and building relationships with plant allies
    • The limitations of compartmentalized healthcare
    • How Ayurveda and Western medicine can work alongside one another
    • Trusting the innate intelligence of the body
    • Becoming an active participant in your own healing

Adina also shares the advice she wishes more women heard earlier: “Let the animal body take over.” Her reminder is that the body already carries an innate intelligence toward healing — and our job is often to create the conditions that allow it to do what it knows how to do.

  7. Ep 19: Belonging Is Something We Build: Community, Motherhood & Finding Home with Kimberly Ann Johnson

    Show notes

What does it really mean to belong....to a place, a community, a family, or even your own body?

In this episode of Homestead & Heal, Lindsay and Scott sit down with author, somatic practitioner, and educator Kimberly Ann Johnson for a wide-ranging conversation about motherhood, embodiment, place, community, aging, and what it means to build a meaningful life.

Kimberly shares how her own challenging postpartum experience and years-long healing journey eventually led to her first book, The Fourth Trimester, and how her work has continued to evolve through pelvic health, the female nervous system, sexuality, grief, elderhood, and the changing seasons of a woman’s life.

The conversation moves into our relationship with home, land, and belonging. After living and traveling around the world, Kimberly shares why she’s become less interested in asking whether a place feels like home and more interested in what it means to devote ourselves to the places and people already around us.

Together, they unpack the modern search for the “perfect” community, the homestead dream, and the belief that a better life might be waiting somewhere else. What if belonging isn’t something we find—but something we participate in building?

They also explore the messiness of real community: working alongside people we wouldn’t necessarily choose, developing practical skills, navigating disagreement, taking responsibility, and committing to something larger than our individual preferences.

The conversation ultimately returns to the body and the different seasons of a life—from motherhood and fertility to perimenopause, menopause, aging, and becoming an elder. Kimberly offers her perspective on respecting biological limits, questioning some of our cultural ideas about freedom, and allowing the experiences of our lives to mature us.

In this episode, they talk about:

    • Kimberly’s postpartum healing journey and the story behind The Fourth Trimester
    • Pelvic health, embodiment, and the female nervous system
    • Perimenopause, menopause, sexuality, and aging
    • Motherhood and watching children enter new seasons of their own lives
    • Connecting with nature even when you don’t live on a traditional homestead
    • Homemaking, domestic arts, and the importance of the hearth
    • Kimberly’s experiences living and traveling around the world
    • The difference between finding belonging and building belonging
    • Why moving somewhere new doesn’t necessarily create community
    • The modern “homestead dream” and our search for a better life elsewhere
    • Why meaningful community requires commitment, responsibility, and practical skills
    • Staying in relationship with people who have different perspectives
    • Following what calls you before you understand where it will lead
    • Motherhood, fertility, family, and biological limits
    • Our cultural relationship with aging and elderhood

  8. Ep 18: What the Body Can Teach Us About Healing, Faith + Becoming Whole with Adelaide Biggs

    Show notes

In this episode of Homestead & Heal, we sit down with Adelaide Biggs, founder of Faith in the Body, for a conversation about women’s health, movement, healing, faith, and the wisdom of the body.

Adelaide’s work looks at how the way we sit, stand, walk, breathe, and move can impact pelvic health, nervous system regulation, and whole-body wellbeing. We talk about everything from prolapse, pain, incontinence, postpartum recovery, and structural integration to the deeper relationship between embodiment, suffering, faith, and healing.

Adelaide also shares how a lifelong relationship with horses shaped her ability to notice movement, pressure, body language, and subtle patterns — skills that later became foundational to the work she does with women today.

The conversation also moves into her own healing journey after a severe injury, her experience as a home birth midwife, seasons of loss and suffering, and the role faith has played in how she understands the body, healing, and what it means to receive the life in front of us.

This is a thoughtful, wide-ranging conversation about listening more closely to the body, understanding our own patterns, and seeing healing as something that can involve both the physical and the spiritual.

  9. Ep 17: Rooting Into Life: Intuitive Astrology, Self-Trust & Slowing Down with Emily King

    Show notes

In this episode, Lindsay and Scott sit down with intuitive astrologer Emily King for a conversation about astrology, intuition, spirituality, and what it means to truly root into your life.

Emily shares how her relationship with astrology evolved from curiosity into a deeply intuitive practice, and how she uses it as a lens for understanding ourselves, our relationships, and the seasons we move through — rather than as a tool for predicting the future. Together, they explore the connection between intuition and spirituality, the importance of slowing down enough to hear our own inner knowing, and how reconnecting with the land and our bodies can bring us back to what feels most aligned.

They also talk about Emily’s own season of shifting from seeking and constantly looking toward what’s next to creating a slower, more rooted life centered around home, family, creativity, and presence.

    In this episode, we explore:

    • What intuitive astrology is and how Emily approaches her work
    • Astrology as a tool for self-understanding rather than prediction
    • The intersection of astrology, spirituality, faith, and intuition
    • Slowing down and creating space to hear your inner knowing
    • Reconnecting with the land, seasons, and the natural world
    • Moving from seeking the next thing to rooting into the life you’re already living
    • Using astrology to better understand relationships and family dynamics

  10. Ep 16: What’s Really Affecting Fertility? Chinese Medicine, Stress & the Modern World with Kristin Hauser

    Show notes

What is modern life doing to our fertility- and what might our bodies be trying to tell us?

In this episode of Homestead & Heal, Lindsay and Scott sit down with women’s health practitioner Kristin Hauser for a wide-ranging conversation about fertility, Chinese medicine, motherhood, grief, and our relationship with the natural world.

Kristin has spent nearly two decades working in women’s health, beginning in birth work and prenatal yoga before moving into acupuncture, Chinese medicine, functional medicine, and somatic sex education. Today, much of her work focuses on supporting women who want to conceive naturally and training practitioners to bring a more holistic approach to women’s health and fertility.

Together, they explore why fertility challenges seem to be becoming more common, how quickly our environment and lifestyles have changed, and why fertility isn’t solely a women’s health issue. Kristin shares her perspective on stress, environmental exposures, declining sperm health, and the ways our bodies are continually trying to adapt to the modern world.

They also go much deeper than fertility alone.

Kristin shares how growing up with horses helped shape her relationship with her body, power, and the natural world; what she’s learned from splitting her family’s time between Kansas and Costa Rica; and how motherhood has influenced the way she approaches both life and work.

The conversation eventually turns toward something we don’t talk about nearly enough in women’s health: grief.

Kristin shares how Chinese medicine understands the connection between the heart and womb, why she believes grief needs space to move through the body, and some of the somatic practices she uses to help women be with grief without becoming completely overwhelmed by it.

In this episode, we talk about fertility in the modern world, Chinese medicine and women’s health, environmental and lifestyle factors affecting fertility, male fertility and sperm health, grief and the nervous system, somatic healing, motherhood, our connection to nature, and learning to trust the path you’re on.

This is a beautiful conversation about fertility, yes—but also about what it looks like to live, heal, mother, and work in deeper relationship with our bodies and the world around us.

  11. Ep 15: Learning to Listen: Remembering What Our Bodies Already Know with Emily French

    Show notes

What if some of the deepest wisdom we need isn't something we have to learn.....but something to remember?

In this episode, Lindsay and Scott sit down with herbalist and teacher Emily French of Sweetgrass Herbals for a conversation about herbal medicine, intuition, embodied knowing, and our innate relationship with the Earth.

Emily shares her journey from growing up deeply connected to the land to apprenticing with herbalist Chris Marano and ultimately spending more than two decades practicing and teaching herbal medicine. Together, they explore what becomes possible when we move beyond simply accumulating knowledge and learn to deeply listen- to plants, to our bodies, and to the wisdom already living within us.

They talk about strengthening intuition, the intelligence of the body, plants as teachers, the ways modern life can disconnect us from our senses, and how returning to relationship with the natural world can help us soften the armor we've learned to carry.

Emily also shares the beautiful story of a plant that has been passed through the women in her family for generations, her reflections on supporting young women through rites of passage, and why curiosity, joy, and our body's quiet yes can help guide us toward the life we're meant to live.

    In this episode, they explore:

    • Emily's path to becoming an herbalist and her early relationship with the Earth
    • Why deep listening can be more powerful than simply consuming more information
    • Developing intuition and learning to trust the body's wisdom
    • Plant attunement and cultivating relationships with medicinal plants
    • How modern life can numb our senses and disconnect us from the natural world
    • The relationship between our bodies and the Earth
    • Herbal medicine as nourishment, nervous system support, and relationship
    • What plants can teach us about belonging, boundaries, grief, and becoming ourselves
    • Emily's advice for trusting curiosity and following the quiet whispers within

  12. Ep 14: The Body Knows: Trauma, Intuition & the Path Back to Yourself with Kirby Criddle

    Show notes

In this episode of Homestead & Heal, we sit down with Kirby Criddle, a spiritual teacher, writer, trauma integration specialist, intimacy educator, and hands-on, hands-in integrative pelvic care practitioner whose work is in service to the mystical and physical forces that bring your highest Self through to this world.

In this conversation, Kirby shares the many threads that have shaped her work- from growing up as a highly sensitive child with an intense spiritual inner world, to discovering language for what she was experiencing through Barbara Brennan’s Hands of Light, to finding refuge and expression through music.

We talk about her years as a touring musician, the decision to pause music after becoming a mother, and the unexpected path that unfolded when she opened a spiritual wellness center in 2019 -only to have the pandemic dramatically shift the direction of her work.

Kirby also opens up about her postpartum experience and the profound disconnection she felt from herself during that season. That chapter became a doorway into a deeper relationship with the body and eventually led her toward trauma integration work, pelvic care, and body-led healing.

She shares what she learned through training with Martin Bauduin, including the importance of listening beyond what the mind thinks should happen and allowing the body to reveal its own pace, wisdom, and direction.

Throughout the episode, we explore what it looks like to trust clinical intuition, stay in beginner’s mind, and resist the pressure to force transformation. Kirby speaks to the difference between chasing dramatic “quantum leaps” and allowing change to unfold through alignment, relationship, and deep listening.

Her relationship with land and nature is woven throughout the conversation as well. Kirby shares about life in Saskatoon, tending a large organic garden, experiencing loneliness and belonging, and serving as a forest chaplain along the city river. We talk about the way nature can mirror our own internal processes and what a garden can teach us about control, surrender, timing, death, and renewal.

Kirby also reflects on teachers, mentorship, and power — including what difficult teachers can reveal about our own discernment and the importance of learning to trust our own inner authority.

We also dive into the work she is offering now, including Vessel, her six-month program for women designed to deepen connection with the body, intuition, inner voice, and relationship with a higher power, as well as Naked Cake, a trauma integration circle.

This conversation is an exploration of what it means to come home to the body, trust what we sense, honor the full complexity of our experiences, and allow life to unfold from a place of deeper alignment rather than force.

    In this episode, we explore:

    • Kirby’s work in spiritual teaching, intimacy, trauma integration, and integrative pelvic care
    • Her six-month women’s program, Vessel
    • Spiritual sensitivity and perceiving energy as a child
    • Discovering Hands of Light and finding validation for her experiences

  14. Ep 12: Living in Rhythm with Motherhood: the Connection to Nature & the Wisdom of Our Bodies with Nicole Parker

    Show notes

What if we've been taught to fight against the very rhythms that were designed to sustain us?

In this deeply grounding conversation, we're joined by Nicole of The Seed of Joy- a devotional guide and mother of four sons whose teachings are rooted in the divine physiology of motherhood and a belief in every woman's right to live as a vessel for miracles.

Nicole walks alongside women through the art of nourished, primal mothering in the modern world, inviting them to reconnect with the wisdom of their bodies, the rhythms of the Earth, and the sacredness woven into everyday life.

Together, we explore what it means to mother from a place of abundance rather than depletion, how the natural world can become our greatest teacher, and why honoring the cycles of our bodies may be one of the most radical acts of healing available to us.

Whether you're a mother, a father, or simply someone longing to feel more connected to yourself and the world around you, this conversation is an invitation to slow down, soften, and remember what has always been true.

    In this episode, we explore:

    • The wisdom our bodies and the natural world offer when we're willing to listen.
    • Raising children who honor the rhythms of life, the feminine, and the Earth.
    • What the Arizona desert taught Nicole about belonging, surrender, and resilience.
    • How to build a business that supports your values instead of competing with them.
    • The power of creating family rhythms rooted in connection rather than productivity.
    • What it truly means to nourish not only your body, but your relationships, your home, and your spirit.
    • Why slowing down may be the very thing that allows us to become more fully alive.

If you've been craving a slower, more intentional way of moving through the world, this conversation will leave you feeling grounded, inspired, and reminded that life becomes richer when we stop resisting its rhythms and begin trusting them.

  15. Ep 11: When Success No Longer Fits: Listening to Your Body's Wisdom with Heather MacMillan

    Show notes

What happens when the life you've built no longer feels aligned?

In this heartfelt conversation, Lindsay and Scott sit down with Heather McMillan—a mom, partner, homesteader, former sourdough baker, Fascia Alchemy–trained bodyworker, certified Human Design reader, and the creator of Rooted Fascia Human Design. Heather lives on a small farm in Eastern Ontario with her husband, son, cattle, chickens, and a thriving garden. For more than 15 years, caring for the land, raising animals, and living in rhythm with the seasons has quietly shaped the way she approaches healing, embodiment, and life itself.

Heather shares her winding journey from studying human kinetics to cooking, farming, rafting, and building a thriving home-based sourdough bread business that she ran for more than 12 years. While the business was successful, her body was telling a different story. Through chronic pain, motherhood, birth trauma, and a deep desire to live in greater alignment, Heather found herself returning to the body—and ultimately discovering the transformative power of fascia work.

Today, Heather helps women reconnect with themselves through body-based fascia release, both in private sessions and through self-bodywork education. She also blends guided fascia release with Human Design, helping women move beyond simply understanding their chart and begin truly embodying the wisdom of their unique design.

Together, Lindsay, Scott, and Heather explore the connection between our bodies and the land, healing after birth trauma, repetitive movement patterns, entrepreneurship, and the courage it takes to let go of something good in order to make space for something even more aligned.

Whether you're navigating a career pivot, recovering from birth trauma or burnout, or simply longing to feel more at home in your body, this conversation is a beautiful reminder that every chapter of your journey has prepared you for the next.

  20. Ep 6: Moving Through Life After Loss: Emily Hanger on Acupuncture, Mediumship & Grief

    Show notes

In this powerful conversation, Lindsay and Scott sit down with Emily Hanger, a dancer, acupuncturist, Holistic Pelvic Care Practitioner, and psychic medium whose work bridges embodiment, intuition, healing, and the wisdom of the natural world.

Emily shares how dance quite literally saved her life more than once. From a young age, movement taught her embodiment, body confidence, and how to read energy in the people around her. After earning her BFA in Dance and Choreography and spending four years immersed in New York City's modern dance scene, a life-altering injury brought her career to an unexpected halt. What followed was a period of depression, a pregnancy loss, and ultimately an acupuncture treatment that changed the course of her life.

That first acupuncture session sparked a calling. Emily went on to earn her Master's in Oriental Medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine and has spent the last twelve years supporting clients through her private practice, where she continues to witness the profound intelligence of the body and the healing process.

The conversation takes a deeply personal turn as Emily reflects on the stillbirth of her daughter Josephine in 2017. Through grief, Emily found herself reconnecting with psychic and mediumship abilities that had been present since childhood. Guided in many ways by Josephine's spirit, she began developing her gifts more intentionally and now helps others strengthen their own intuition and spirit connection through her In Service to Spirit Mentorship.

Emily also shares her experiences receiving messages from ancestors during treatments, her relationship with the powerful plant ally datura, and her emerging work with intuitive voice and sound healing. Through spontaneous songs and tones, she helps clients access deep states of nervous system regulation, emotional release, ancestral connection, and embodied healing.

This episode is a beautiful reminder that healing rarely follows the path we expect—and that some of our greatest challenges can become gateways into deeper purpose, connection, and trust.
