  1. #180 Leaking, Pain & Kegels: What Your Pelvic Floor Is Telling You | Dr. Christine Strader

    Show notes

What if leaking when you sneeze, painful intimacy, constipation, or even persistent hip pain were connected to muscles you've probably never given much thought to?

And what if doing more Kegels isn't always the answer?

For too long, women have been told that bladder leakage, pelvic discomfort, and other symptoms are simply part of motherhood, aging, or being a woman. But just because something is common doesn't mean you have to live with it!

This week, I'm joined by Dr. Christine Strader, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Orthopedic Certified Specialist, pelvic floor specialist, and founder of Be Your Best Physical Therapy. With more than 14 years of experience, Christine brings together advanced orthopedic expertise, specialized pelvic health care, and strength-based rehabilitation to help women and men overcome pain, restore function, and regain confidence in their bodies.

Together, we're exploring the often-overlooked world of pelvic floor health and why understanding these muscles can make such a difference in how we move, feel, and function.

And this conversation is personal! I've experienced Christine's care firsthand, and I was amazed to discover just how much our pelvic floor is connected to our abdominal muscles, hips, breathing, and even the stress we carry.

From bladder leakage and painful intimacy to constipation, prolapse, C-section recovery, and chronic pain, Christine helps us understand why these symptoms deserve attention and what pelvic floor physical therapy can offer.

    IN THIS EPISODE, WE EXPLORE:

    * Why Kegels aren't always the answer for pelvic floor dysfunction

    * The difference between tight and weak pelvic floor muscles

    * How pelvic floor dysfunction can contribute to bladder leakage, constipation, hip pain, and painful intimacy

    * What an internal pelvic floor assessment can reveal

    * How pelvic floor physical therapy may help improve prolapse symptoms

    * Why C-section and hysterectomy scars may need attention long after surgery

    * The surprising connection between stress, breathing, the nervous system, and pelvic floor tension

    * Why strength training plays such an important role in long-term pelvic health

    * How pelvic floor physical therapy can benefit men, too!

Whether you're navigating postpartum recovery, menopause, chronic discomfort, or simply want to better understand your body, this conversation may change the way you think about pelvic floor health.

Because common doesn't have to mean inevitable, and there may be options you haven't explored!

👤 Christine Strader, PT, DPT, OCS, PCES, is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Orthopedic Certified Specialist, and Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist with over 14 years of clinical experience. 2. #180 American Food Made Her Sick. Italian Food Changed Everything. | Bailey's Story

    Show notes

What if the foods making you miserable in America were the very foods you could enjoy in Europe without a problem?

For years, Bailey of Health Journey Through Food battled debilitating fatigue, joint pain, digestive issues, and a growing list of food sensitivities. At just 20 years old, she was taking 40 medications and supplements, searching for answers that never seemed to come.

Then she went to Italy. Within six weeks, Bailey says her symptoms disappeared. She was eating bread, pasta, and pizza, foods she had struggled to tolerate back home. She even went from barely being able to exercise to running a 5K.

But when she returned to America, the problems returned.

What began as a personal health journey became a mission to investigate the differences between American and European food, from wheat varieties and farming practices to food production, ingredient sourcing, and water quality.

Today, Bailey and her mom, Tiffany, are connecting American families with small Italian farmers and traditionally produced foods.

    In this episode, we explore:

    * The differences between American wheat, European flour, and traditional Italian farming

    * Why even products marketed as Italian may contain grain sourced from other countries

    * Bailey's journey from chronic illness to importing food directly from Italy

    * Practical ways families can become more informed about their food choices

    * Their mission to make traditionally produced Italian foods more accessible in America

This is a powerful personal story about questioning assumptions, searching for answers, and refusing to accept that feeling unwell must be your normal.

  3. # 178 The Healthy Eating Lie: Are You Nourished or Just Eating Clean? | Chef James Barry

    Show notes

What if you're eating all the right foods… but still not giving your body the nutrients it needs?

We've become a culture obsessed with what we REMOVE from our diets. Sugar. Gluten. Carbs. Processed foods. Sometimes entire food groups.

But when did healthy eating become more about restriction than actual nourishment?

Today, former celebrity chef and Pluck founder James Barry is back on the Know Better | Do Better Podcast to challenge one of the biggest misconceptions in modern nutrition: Just because you're eating clean doesn't necessarily mean you're well-nourished.

After more than 20 years as a professional chef, cooking for celebrities like Tom Cruise, George Clooney, and Barbra Streisand, James shifted his mission toward helping everyday families rediscover the nutritional value of real, whole foods.

And this conversation goes far beyond simply eating organ meats. We're questioning the illusion of healthy eating, the rise of restrictive diets, our obsession with isolated nutrients, and why some of the most nutrient-dense foods have practically disappeared from the modern American diet.

    In this episode, we explore:

    * Why eating clean and eating nutrient-dense foods aren't always the same thing

    * How restrictive diets can unintentionally leave us undernourished

    * The forgotten nutritional value of organ meats, bone marrow, and whole-animal eating

    * Why the nutrients in real foods aren't always as predictable as nutrition labels suggest

    * Why our relationship with food has become so complicated

    * Practical, affordable ways to incorporate organ meats into everyday meals

    * How to make nutrient-dense eating sustainable for the entire family

James also shares why he believes we've lost touch with our natural food instincts—and how returning to simple, nourishing foods might be less complicated than we've been led to believe.

  4. #177 Gerson Therapy: The Nearly 100-Year-Old Approach to Cancer & Chronic Disease | Dr. Ryan Firchoff

    Show notes

For nearly 100 years, people facing cancer and chronic illness have turned to an intensive nutritional approach known as Gerson Therapy.

But what exactly is it—and what does someone actually do on the protocol?

Today I'm joined by Dr. Ryan Firchoff, a naturopathic physician at the Sedona Wellness Retreat in Arizona, a center built upon the legacy and traditions of Dr. Max Gerson. Dr. Ferchoff studied naturopathic medicine at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and has pursued specialized training in naturopathic oncology, Gerson Therapy, mistletoe therapy, ozone and oxygen therapies, IV therapies, and other integrative approaches. His clinical experience has also included training at the Gerson Mexico Clinic, and today much of his work centers around supporting people facing cancer and other complex chronic conditions.

And Gerson Therapy is far more intensive than drinking a green juice every morning.

The traditional protocol incorporates things like freshly pressed organic juices, supplements and coffee enemas. At the retreat, guests may also participate in additional therapies while learning how to continue the Gerson lifestyle after returning home.

Dr. Ryan walks us through the philosophy behind the therapy, what a typical day actually looks like, why someone may consume the equivalent of up to 20 pounds of produce in a day, and why commitment to the protocol can extend far beyond a few weeks.

    We also discuss:

    • The history and foundational principles of Gerson Therapy

    • Why it became associated with alternative cancer care

    • The 13-juice-a-day protocol

    • What patients actually eat

    • Why coffee enemas became part of Gerson Therapy

    • What Dr. Ryan reports observing in guests with cancer and other chronic illnesses

    • What happens during a stay at the Gerson Retreat

    ...and much more!

Dr. Ryan also shares several patient experiences from the retreat, including changes he says have been documented through laboratory testing and medical imaging.

Whether you've heard about Gerson Therapy for years or you're encountering it for the first time, this conversation gives you an inside look at what this intensive, nearly century-old approach actually involves.

  5. #176 The Lost Art of Osteopathy: What a Physician's Hands Can Feel | Dr. Christopher Brown

    Show notes

What if some of the clues to what's happening in your body could actually be felt through a physician's hands?

No lab report. No scan. No machine.

Today, we're going into the fascinating world of traditional osteopathy with Dr. Christopher Brown—and this one is personal for me because I've been receiving this type of hands-on care for nearly a year.

Traditional osteopathy traces its roots to physician Andrew Taylor Still in the 1800s and approaches the body in a remarkably detailed way. Through years of training and palpation, practitioners learn to evaluate anatomy, movement, restriction and other physical findings with their hands.

Dr. Brown takes us into what that actually means.

We talk about why an injury from years—or even decades—ago may still matter, what an osteopath is assessing when they place their hands on your body, and the relationships among the skull, spine, sacrum, fascia, nervous system and body fluids.

We also explore cranial osteopathy, why stillness and sensory perception are so central to this work, and the profound philosophy underneath traditional osteopathy: looking for health rather than simply chasing symptoms.

Dr. Brown also explains the important difference between having "DO" after a physician's name and finding a physician who actually practices traditional hands-on osteopathy.

If you've ever wondered whether there is more information within the body than a blood test or scan can capture, this conversation will give you an entirely different lens through which to look at health.

  6. # 175 What If You Never Bought Laundry Detergent Again? | The O3 Laundry Revolution

    Show notes

What if I told you that you could stop buying laundry detergent forever?

No pods. No liquid detergent. No searching for the "cleanest" brand. No deciphering ingredient labels.

    Just water and oxygen.

Sounds a little too good to be true, right? That was my question too: But does it actually clean the clothes?

This week, I'm joined by Marissa from O3 Waterworks to explore aqueous ozone, or O3, and how their Smart Laundry System uses water and oxygen to create a cleaning solution directly within your washing cycle.

We get into the questions that actually matter: What about odors? Stains? Bacteria? Detergent residue and buildup? What happens inside your washing machine? Why does the system use cold water? And how is aqueous ozone different from the gaseous ozone you may have heard warnings about?

Marissa also walks us through potential long-term savings, the Smart Laundry System's boost mode, and their sanitizing spray bottle, which creates aqueous ozone using tap water.

I'm personally bringing this system into my own home, so I wanted to understand exactly what it does, if it has limitations, and whether laundry detergent could really become one less product we have to buy.

Could a machine on your laundry-room wall make detergent a thing of the past?

    Listen to find out!

  7. #174 The Forgotten Cancer Theory | Dr. David Rasnick, Part 2

    Show notes

What if one of the most important clues about cancer has been sitting in the scientific literature for more than a century?

This week is Part Two of my conversation with Dr. David Rasnick, a biochemist, biotechnology researcher, inventor, and longtime scientific dissenter who has spent decades studying cancer.

David takes us into the chromosomal theory of cancer, specifically aneuploidy, an abnormal number of chromosomes within a cell, and explains why he challenges the dominant gene-mutation theory of cancer.

We also explore the work of early cancer researchers David von Hansemann and Theodor Boveri, the fascinating history of William Coley and Coley's toxins, carcinogens, cancer testing, biopsies, and what David believes the scientific establishment has overlooked about how cancer begins and progresses.

It's a conversation about cancer history, competing scientific theories, and what happens when researchers go back and question assumptions that have become deeply embedded in modern medicine.

    In this episode:

    • What is aneuploidy, and why does David believe it matters in cancer?

    • Cancer genes vs. chromosome imbalance

    • What carcinogens may do during cell division

    • The forgotten history of William Coley and Coley's toxins

    • Cancer biopsies and testing

    • Why David believes older cancer research deserves another look

    • The research behind his book, The Outsider's Advantage

  8. #173 HIV & AIDS: What If the Settled Story Isn't Settled? | Dr. David Rasnick

    Show notes

Every once in a while, an interview takes you back to where a story began—and makes you question whether we got it right in the first place. When it comes to HIV/AIDS, today's guest was working in biotechnology in the San Francisco Bay Area during the early years of the AIDS crisis.

It is truly an honor to have Dr. David Rasnick with us.

David is a biochemist, biotechnology researcher, inventor, and longtime scientific dissenter who later served on South Africa's Presidential AIDS Advisory Panel. Today, we're taking another look at a subject most of us have been taught is completely settled. We're talking about the origins of the AIDS crisis, HIV, Robert Gallo, antibody testing, PCR, viral-load measurements, Kary Mullis, Peter Duesberg, and the questions David believes medicine stopped asking far too soon.

Some of what you're about to hear directly conflicts with established medical and scientific consensus. This conversation isn't about telling you what to believe. It's about hearing a dissenting perspective, examining the questions being raised, and continuing to investigate for yourself.

This conversation was so substantial that I've divided it into two episodes. This week is Part One, entirely focused on HIV and AIDS. Next week, Part Two will take us into David's decades of cancer research.

  9. #172 What an Ex-Pfizer Scientist Learned About the System | Justin Leslie

    Show notes

What happens when questioning one institution leads you to question the entire system?

Justin Leslie is a former Pfizer formulation scientist who worked on COVID-19 vaccine projects before becoming an undercover investigative journalist with Project Veritas.

But Pfizer was only the beginning.

In this episode, Justin shares what he says he witnessed, what happened when he entered the world of undercover journalism, and why he eventually began questioning not only mainstream institutions, but some of the people and organizations claiming to expose them.

We go down some serious rabbit holes involving medicine, media, science, Project Veritas, Bohemian Grove, institutional power, and the question at the center of it all:

Who do you trust when everyone claims to be telling you the truth?

We also explore the personal cost of Justin's journey and how, through it all, he ultimately found his way back to Jesus.

  10. #171 Worms for Crohn's? The Therapy No One Talks About with Kyla

    Show notes

What if some of the organisms we've been taught to eradicate might actually play a role in regulating the human immune system?

Autumn is sitting down with Kyla of Let's Heal IBD to explore one of the most unconventional therapies we've discussed yet: helminthic therapy, the controlled introduction of specific intestinal worms.

After years of living with severe Crohn's disease, Kyla had endured chronic diarrhea, bleeding, extreme food intolerances, vomiting, multiple surgeries, abscesses, a fistula, and periods when simply eating became incredibly difficult.

She tried dietary changes, stress reduction, meditation, yoga, and other approaches, but says her health continued to deteriorate.

    Then she discovered helminthic therapy.

Kyla shares why she decided to intentionally introduce specific species of intestinal worms into her body, what happened over the following months, and how she eventually reached clinical remission from Crohn's disease, according to her medical testing.

    In this episode, we discuss:

    • What helminthic therapy actually is
    • Why not every organism classified as a "parasite" behaves the same way
    • The proposed relationship between helminths and immune regulation
    • How modern sanitation may have changed our exposure to intestinal worms
    • Kyla's 13-year journey with Crohn's disease
    • Her experience with surgeries, abscesses, fistulas, food intolerances, bleeding, and chronic digestive symptoms
    • Why dietary changes alone did not resolve her Crohn's symptoms
    • The specific helminths used therapeutically
    • How helminths are introduced into the body
    • Why Kyla believes modern humans may be missing an important piece of their ancestral gut ecosystem

  12. #169 Trusting God in the Unseen with Dr. Joel Muddamalle

    Show notes

What if the greatest spiritual battles in your life aren't the obvious ones?

What if the enemy's most effective strategy isn't fear or chaos—but subtle conditioning that slowly shapes what you normalize, desire, and depend upon without ever realizing it?

In this thought-provoking conversation, Dr. Joel Muddamalle challenges some of the most common assumptions Christians have about spiritual warfare, while exploring the deeper connection between stewardship, relationships, suffering, healing, and spiritual formation.

Together, we wrestle with questions many believers quietly carry:

    • Are we mistaking shortcuts for God's best?

    • How do we discern healthy stewardship from unhealthy dependence?

    • When is a relationship no longer moving toward repentance and restoration?

    • What role do childhood wounds really play in our adult relationships?

    • How do we continue trusting God when healing feels delayed and prayers seem unanswered?

If you've ever wrestled with disappointment, difficult relationships, confusing seasons, or wondered how God is shaping you through the process instead of simply rescuing you from it, this conversation will leave you thinking long after it ends.

👤 Dr. Joel Muddamalle is a theologian, Bible teacher, and Director of Theology and Research at Proverbs 31 Ministries, where he helps make deep biblical truth practical for everyday life. He co-hosts the Therapy & Theology podcast with Lysa TerKeurst and Jim Cress and is the author of The Unseen Battle and The Hidden Peace, equipping believers to better understand Scripture, spiritual warfare, and the life-changing power of biblical theology. 13. #168 What Makes Food Truly Healthy? | Graham Honig, Founder of TALO Organic

    Show notes

What actually makes food truly healthy?

Is it the ingredients, the way it was grown, how the animal was raised, what it was stored in, or how it was prepared?

In this episode, Autumn sits down with Graham Honig, founder of TALO Organic, a company that was born from one simple frustration: he and his wife couldn't find a restaurant they trusted to feed their own family.

Instead of settling, they built one!

Today, TALO Organic has become known for its uncompromising standards, looking far beyond labels like "organic" to examine every step of the process, from regenerative farming and ingredient sourcing to cookware, food storage, cutting boards, cooking oils, and even the smallest details most restaurants never consider.

What began as a small pop-up has grown into a thriving company with a delivery and takeout location in Venice Beach, California, a fresh meal delivery service throughout Southern California, and plans to continue expanding into communities across the U.S. Their mission is simple: make truly nourishing food more accessible without compromising quality.

But this conversation isn't just about one restaurant.

It's about understanding the hidden decisions that shape the food we eat every day.

    In this episode, you'll discover:

    • Why food preparation matters just as much as food ingredients

    • The hidden compromises happening behind the scenes of modern food production

    • What "clean eating" really means beyond the organic label

    • Why regenerative agriculture and thoughtful sourcing matter

    • The philosophy that has shaped every decision behind TALO Organic

    • Why Graham believes we've accepted chronic illness and declining health as "normal"

Whether TALO Organic is in your hometown yet or not, this conversation will change the way you think about the journey your food takes before it ever reaches your plate, and leave you asking better questions every time you sit down for a meal.

If this episode challenged the way you think about food, be sure to subscribe, leave a review, and share it with someone who wants to make more informed choices about what they eat.

    Show notes

What if your symptoms are not the enemy?

    What if they are signals?

In this week's episode of the Know Better | Do Better podcast, Autumn sits down with Nicholas Leach, a terrain-based naturopathic practitioner who helps people uncover the deeper patterns behind chronic and complex health struggles.

This conversation takes a different look at healing. Instead of seeing symptoms as something to suppress, fight, or fear, Nicholas invites us to understand the body as intelligently designed, adaptive, and constantly working to return to balance.

Together, Autumn and Nicholas explore terrain-based healing, the difference between fighting symptoms and understanding them, and why true health often requires looking at the whole person, including the mind, body, environment, lifestyle, and spirit.

    • Why symptoms may be messages, not mistakes

    • How terrain-based healing differs from conventional and functional medicine

    • Why fear can keep the body stuck in stress

    • The role of sunlight, sleep, breath, water, movement, and food

    • Why purpose, joy, and meaning matter in healing

    • How toxicity and deficiency can shape the terrain

    • Why chronic symptoms may require a deeper look at lifestyle and environment

    • What it means to stop fighting the body and start supporting it If you have ever felt like your body is broken, this conversation may help you see it differently.

  17. #164 Structured Water Explained: Hydration, Vortex Water & the Mayu Swirl | Zeev Zohar

    Show notes

Most of us think about water in terms of filtration, purity, and quantity. But what about movement? What if water was never meant to be still?

Zeev Zohar, co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Mayu Water joins us this week on the podcast. Zeev is a multidisciplinary entrepreneur, inventor, award-winning industrial designer, and advanced physics thinker who is helping people look at water in a completely new way.

Through Mayu, Zeev has helped create the Mayu Swirl, a glass water system inspired by the natural movement of spring water. In this conversation, Autumn and Zeev explore:

    • What structured water actually means

    • Why movement matters in nature

    • The difference between tap water and spring water

    • How vortex motion may change the way water behaves

    • Why oxygenation and aeration can impact taste

    • The role minerals may play in hydration

    • Why water interacts with everything it touches

    • How intention, gratitude, and ritual can change the way we relate to water

  18. #163 Dr. Mark Edmond | Beyond Diagnosis: The New Biology Clinic Approach

    Show notes

What if your diagnosis was never the whole story?

In this deeply eye-opening conversation, Autumn sits down with Dr. Mark Edmond, a physician with 18 years of experience in family practice and a doctor at the New Biology Clinic, founded by Dr. Tom Cowan.

If you've ever wondered what healing actually looks like through a terrain-based lens, this episode pulls back the curtain on the New Biology Clinic's unique appraoch and how it differs from traditional and holisitc healthcare alike.

Many people have questioned germ theory, viruses, parasites, mold, cancer, chronic illness, and the conventional disease model.

But the question that often comes next is: What now?

How does healing actually look when you are no longer viewing the body as broken, defective, or under attack?

Dr. Mark Edmond helps unpack a very different way of looking at health. One that begins with the full story of the person, not just a label, lab result, or diagnosis.

    Inside this conversation, we explore:

    • What terrain-based care looks like in real practice

    • Why symptoms may be clues instead of enemies

    • How fear can keep people trapped in the disease model

    • The difference between fighting illness and creating health

    • Why the story behind the symptoms matters

    • How emotional, relational, and environmental factors can impact health

    • Where testing may help and where it may become a trap

    • Mold, mycotoxins, cancer, chronic symptoms, and natural healing

    • The danger of using "green pharmaceuticals" instead of addressing the root issue

    • Why healing often requires curiosity, responsibility, and courage

This is not a surface-level health conversation. It is a paradigm shift for anyone ready to stop outsourcing their body, their intuition, and their healing journey.

  19. #162 The Truth About Pelvic Floor Dysfunction That No One Talks About | Andrea Dimler

    Show notes

Most women have been told that leaking when you sneeze, lower back pain, hip pain, painful intimacy, and core weakness are simply part of motherhood.

    What if they're not?

In this eye-opening conversation, Autumn sits down with prenatal and postpartum corrective exercise specialist Andrea Dimler to uncover one of the most overlooked areas of women's health: the pelvic floor.

As a former labor and delivery nurse, neurology nurse, CrossFit coach, childbirth educator, and women's corrective exercise specialist, Andrea has helped countless women understand what most of us were never taught about the connection between breathing, posture, core strength, birth recovery, and pelvic floor health.

What makes this conversation so surprising is that many symptoms women struggle with every day don't always point where we think they do.

    Back pain.

    Hip pain.

    Leaking when you laugh.

    Urgency to find a bathroom.

    Pain with intimacy.

Core weakness that won't improve no matter how much you exercise.

Many of these issues may have far more to do with the pelvic floor than most women realize.

    Inside this episode, you'll discover:

    • What the pelvic floor actually is and why it matters

    • The surprising connection between your breathing and pelvic floor health

    • Why leaking after childbirth is common, but not normal

    • The difference between a weak pelvic floor and an overly tight pelvic floor

    • Why back pain, hip pain, and posture issues may be connected

    • The truth about kegels and why they aren't always the answer

    • How pregnancy and childbirth impact the pelvic floor

    • Practical steps women can take today to begin supporting healing naturally

    • What every woman should know before pregnancy, during pregnancy, and after birth Whether you've had children or not, this conversation may completely change how you think about your body, your symptoms, and your health.

Because sometimes the issue isn't where the pain shows up.

    It's where the story starts.

    Show notes

Most people think about the food they eat and the water they drink.

Few stop to think about the air they breathe.

Yet the average person takes more than 20,000 breaths every single day, and the quality of that air may be impacting everything from sleep and allergies to asthma, mold exposure, inflammation, and overall health.

In this episode, Autumn sits down with Justin Liberman, Director of Operations at Jasper, to discuss one of the most overlooked areas of health: indoor air quality.

Justin shares the remarkable story behind Jasper's creation after one of the largest wildfires in Canadian history exposed a major gap in how homes were being restored after disaster. What began as a search for better air purification technology evolved into one of the most powerful home air-cleaning systems available today.

    Together, Autumn and Justin explore:

    • Why most air purifiers may not be doing what you think they are

    • The hidden connection between air quality and sleep

    • Mold, mycotoxins, and what every homeowner should understand

    • How HEPA and activated carbon filtration work together

    • Why asthma, allergies, congestion, and snoring may improve with cleaner air
