  1. 696. What Really Happens When You Die? w/ Brendan D. Murphy

    Episode 696

    Show notes

What really happens in the afterlife?

Brendan D. Murphy is the author of The Grand Illusion and Reverse Engineering the Afterlife, and he treats consciousness the way an engineer treats a system: layered, mappable, and worth drawing properly.

The conversation opens on reincarnation and the so-called soul trap, and why he doesn’t buy the version circulating online. The Tibetans, Jung, and near-death accounts all point to something more unsettling than a mechanism: your unmetabolized emotional charge becomes the environment you wake up in.

From there, it turns to the evidence: Peak in Darien cases, Ian Stevenson’s birthmark research, and a woman who lived seven years inside a three-week induced coma.

We also sit with a harder question: why do so many spiritually inclined people get stuck in paranoid loops about loosh harvesting and prison planets? Brendan’s answer reframes all of it, and probably your fear of dying with it.

For details and discounts on Brendan's books and offerings, including his Evolve Yourself program and masterclass, visit https://brendandmurphy.com/lifestylist.

  2. Breaking Free from a Lifetime of Loneliness - Luke as Guest on the Daniel Vitalis Show Bonus

    Show notes

I joined my longtime friend Daniel Vitalis for a deep conversation about my new book, A Horse Named Lonesome, and the experiences that led me from childhood trauma and addiction to recovery and spiritual awakening. We explore the loneliness epidemic, why digital connection can never fully replace human intimacy, and how the pursuit of perfect health can become just another form of self-obsession. We also get into forgiveness, the spiritual cost of resentment, and why learning to love and serve others might be the most important work we ever do.

  3. A Millionaire with a Dog and a Backpack: Rock Bottom and the Fire That Rerouted Him w/ Oto Gomes Bonus

    Show notes

In this Lonesome Conversation, Oto and I go back to the loneliest stretch of his life — divorced, numbing himself with weed morning to night, “slowly killing himself” despite being a multimillionaire, down to a dog and a backpack after his apartment burned down. He shares how that string of losses felt like God rerouting him with a hard 180, and how meeting his partner a week after the fire met him at his sickest and heaviest. A raw, moving testament to how the ground falling away can be the thing that saves you.

    About Oto

Oto Gomes is a crypto investor, mentor, and founder of the Crypto Freedom Academy, an online educational platform helping people learn crypto and increase their wealth.

With over 10 years experience in the crypto industry, and 10-plus years before that as an accountant, Oto has persevered through the bull and bear markets of life to find true freedom. His goal is to help others become the most abundant versions of themselves. Oto is a voice for truth, sovereignty, and a holistic approach to creating a life and world of prosperity.

His mission is to create heart-centered, interdependent, and self-accountable communities to become the bridges to help themselves and others in recreating their relationship to money and re-internalizing their self worth.

    Lonesome Conversations Limited Series

Lonesome Conversations is a special series from The Life Stylist, built around my new book, A Horse Named Lonesome (out November 17, 2026). Loneliness is something almost everyone goes through, and almost nobody talks about honestly. So I sat down with psychologists, philosophers, trauma therapists, teachers, and friends to find the truth about loneliness, and how we heal from it. Each episode is its own conversation, but together they walk the same ground the book maps out. 4. 695. What 30 Years of Sobriety Taught Me About Healing - Q&A w/ Luke & Alyson Storey

    Episode 695

    Show notes

When I was addicted, I thought sobriety would fix all my problems . . . I was wrong.

My beautiful wife Alyson is back for another AMA; this one pulls from listener questions Alyson compiled that I hadn’t seen beforehand.

Sobriety taught me that removing the substance wasn't the fix I thought it was. A listener dealing with chronic illness asks how to find real friendship. Someone else asks how to find their dharma, and Alyson shares the dissolving process she went through to get to hers.

My full mouth restoration with Dr. Kevin Winters, the Shroud of Turin, plus Luke’s Latest discoveries, and a few other things worth your attention are in here too.

  5. 694. How to Leave the Health Insurance System & Pay Way Less for Better Care w/ Andy Schoonover

    Episode 694

    Show notes

There's a better way to protect your health than paying for health insurance.

My guest Andy Schoonover, founder of CrowdHealth, quit insurance after his plan refused to pay for his daughter's $8,000 ear procedure and built a parallel system.

Paying cash shocked him. The same stress echo test that cost another man's insurance plan $5,000 cost him $225, and his pediatrician knocked 40 or 50 percent off the bill once insurance left the room.

Andy explains how nearly 20 percent of claims get denied by design, why doctors see only eight cents of every healthcare dollar, and how 35,000 people are funding each other's medical bills through CrowdHealth.

He also shares why he's willing to go to war with the system, even after death threats and regulatory fights.

If you've ever opened an insurance bill and felt your stomach drop, this one is for you.

  6. Healing Childhood Trauma & Breaking the Cycle of Addiction - Luke as Guest on the Grimerica Show Bonus

    Show notes

I joined The Grimerica Show for a conversation about what it really means to be free—not just politically or financially, but emotionally and spiritually. We cover my journey from addiction to recovery, the childhood experiences behind A Horse Named Lonesome, and why I've become increasingly unwilling to compromise my integrity for money, status, or approval. We also explore the loneliness of questioning mainstream narratives, the importance of finding your people, and why freedom means very little if we're still prisoners of our own minds.

  7. The Touch Deficit: Why We’re Starving for Connection and Don’t Even Know It w/ Kyle Coursey. Bonus

    Show notes

In this Lonesome Conversation, Kyle and I explore a hunger most of us don’t know we have — the deep deficit of physical touch in Western culture, where contact gets siloed off into family or romance with nothing in between. He explains how we’re biologically wired for touch as co-regulation, how we convince ourselves we’ve “outgrown” the need, and why you can’t feel the lack until something finally fills it. A reframe of loneliness as, in part, a body starved of the care it was designed to receive.

    About Kyle

Kyle Coursey is the creator of THE RESET, a one-of-a-kind experience. He works with high-performing and high-functioning individuals, founders, and executives who have done the work but still feel something is off.

His work focuses on identifying and resolving the underlying distortions in the human system, across nervous system, physiology, psychology, and relational patterns, so clients can return to clarity, performance, and internal stability.

Through his immersive RESET sessions, he compresses years of work into a single, focused experience designed to restore coherence and unlock what’s been inaccessible through conventional approaches.

  10. Loneliness Is Biologically Impossible: The Science of Why We're Never Separate w/ Dr. Bruce H. Lipton Bonus

    Show notes

In this Lonesome Conversation, Dr. Lipton and I explore his striking claim that loneliness runs against a law of biology—that no organism, from an ant to a bee to a human, survives outside its community. He walks through why we've been programmed to feel separate by religion, politics, nationality, and sex, and who actually benefits when we're isolated and disempowered. A bracing reframe of the loneliness epidemic as a spiritual and biological crisis rather than a personal failing.

    About Dr. Lipton

Bruce H. Lipton, PhD, former medical school professor and epigenetic science pioneer, is the bestselling author of The Biology of Belief, Spontaneous Evolution, and The Honeymoon Effect. Bruce received the prestigious Goi Peace Award (Japan) in honor of his scientific contribution to world harmony.

For over 10 years, Bruce has been listed in the top 100 of “the world’s most spiritually influential living people” by United Kingdom’s Watkins Journal. He will be releasing his new book, Beyond Darwin: How Epigenetics, Quantum Science, and Cooperation Shape Humanity’s Future in 2026.

  11. 692. The Natural Drug That Gets You Off Drugs: Ibogaine w/ Jonathan Dickinson

    Episode 692

    Show notes

Can a natural drug get you off drugs?

Co-founder of Ambio Life Sciences and one of the leading voices on ibogaine, Jonathan has spent over 15 years inside the clinical, traditional, and research sides of this medicine.

Being handed a Zoloft prescription after a nine-item questionnaire became his first real entry into altered states, a lens on the world that also left him feeling trapped. Harm reduction research in Vancouver and the NAOMI heroin trial pulled him into drug policy, where ibogaine became the bridge between that world and psychedelics.

My own history with opiate withdrawal and Effexor comes in, along with the paradox at the center of this field: a psychoactive substance that helps people put down other substances. You'll hear about Jonathan's first Bwiti initiation in Gabon, the Stanford research on Navy SEALs, and why the real work happens in the weeks after the ceremony.

  12. Aloneness Can Become All Oneness: The Toltec Path Through Loneliness w/ Joel Schafer Bonus

    Show notes

In this Lonesome Conversation, Joel and I explore his reframe that "aloneness can become all oneness" — that you can learn to connect with the earth and sun so deeply you're never truly alone, even in solitude. He shares the story of a teacher who spent 18 years alone doing shamanic practice, and makes the case that intentional solitude, far from something to fear, can be an actual lifeline. A grounding look at why most of us lack the tools to be alone well, and how they can be learned.

    About Joel

Joel Schafer is a personal empowerment mentor and shamanic dreaming arts teacher. Through online courses, one-on-one mentoring, and in-person workshops, Joel trains people in a highly effective way to reclaim vital energy and attention utilizing the Toltec knowledge base. These are powerful, non-linear redistribution techniques that guide and support students in discovering clear purpose, increasing awareness, getting grounded, reclaiming focus, & accessing strong intent. Joel is also an excellent listener and mirror, offering practical but magical solutions to life's challenges.

    Show notes

This conversation with Ross Rosenberg goes straight into the heart of my recovery story—from childhood trauma, shame, addiction, and compulsive behavior to the lifelong process of learning how to genuinely love and accept myself.

We explore loneliness as an underlying driver of addiction, why our attempts to fill that void often create even more separation, and how healing can transform suffering into empathy, purpose, and service. I also get into the deeper story behind A Horse Named Lonesome and the roadmap back to connection woven throughout the book.

  14. 691. How Microplastics Are Getting in Your Brain & Your Sperm w/ David Roberts

    Episode 691

    Show notes

We’ve been ingesting microplastics, and no one is talking about it.

That result is what first got David Roberts, co-founder and managing partner of Mara Labs, interested in microplastics.

Most broccoli supplements don't contain what their labels claim. One doctor even teared up in front of him at a conference when they realized what they'd been recommending for years. The GLP-1 side effect story is even uglier than the headlines suggest, with nearly 4,000 lawsuits and up to 40% of lost weight coming from muscle.

Where do microplastics accumulate? Why is your dryer lint a warning sign? What do fenugreek and beta-glucan do in the gut? And what’s the two-step pathway that mobilizes plastic out of your cells and into your stool?

If you've ever wondered whether the supplements you're taking are actually reaching your cells, this one will change how you shop.

For the next week, The Life Stylist listeners can get an exclusive 25% off all Mara Labs products when you go to https://mara-labs.com/luke and use code LUKE at checkout. After that, code LUKE will still get you 15% off.

  15. Alone in a Full House: The Emotional Isolation No One Talks About w/ Cal Callahan Bonus

    Show notes

In this Lonesome Conversation, Cal and I discuss a kind of loneliness that has nothing to do with being alone — the "island in your own home" feeling that comes from not sharing what you're struggling with, even with a partner who'd drop everything for you. Cal is disarmingly honest about how pride and shame, usually around money, keep him from letting his wife in, and how every time he finally does, he's met with a grace that shocks him. A tender look at how the wall we feel between us and the people we love is one we quietly build ourselves.

    About Cal

Cal is a former trader turned seeker of truth and human potential and the host of The Great Unlearn—a podcast inviting listeners to question old narratives and reconnect with what’s real.

After leaving behind a successful career in finance, Cal stepped into a more intentional life—one centered around curiosity, self-inquiry, and personal freedom. Through The Great Unlearn, he holds space for meaningful conversations with entrepreneurs, rebels, and mystics who challenge the status quo and offer new ways of seeing the world.

He’s also the founder of Unlearn Ventures—an incubator, fund, and venture studio supporting bold, conscious projects that expand possibility and prioritize people over profit.

  16. 690. How to Access Spiritual Awakening w/ Skai

    Episode 690

    Show notes

What if mental illness is actually a spiritual battle?

My guest today is Skai Delacroix, a healer and teacher who spent three years in near-total silence and now works with people through his ZeroPoint method.

What happened to him after that first year of samadhi is the part nobody talks about: the long collapse into psychiatric diagnoses, suicidal planning, and a body he could barely move.

At one point in his story, paramedics couldn’t lift him off the sidewalk because the gravitational pull was too strong. In another, he received a directive to walk himself into destruction on purpose. The through-line is the question: how do you tell the difference between guidance and psychosis when the voices sound identical?

We also do a live ZeroPoint practice that shifted something in my chest I wasn't expecting.

    You'll learn:

    [0:00] Introduction

[14:54] Becoming susceptible to dark forces

[21:12] Bipolar reframed as an imbalance between two selves

[26:18] Turning back toward the light before the voice demanded he give up everything

[39:59] Paramedics could not lift Skai's body off the ground

[55:45] Learning to discern the true force from the adversary

[1:02:02] The motivation behind the years of walking and extreme running

[1:12:22] Paradise is right here, and removing the word fighting from the equation

[1:32:49] Refining transgression from heroin to ice cream, and why the guru-disciple model is obsolete

  17. Hyperconnected and Lonelier Than Ever: What Screens Can't Transmit w/ Jeffrey Stegman & Clayten Stedmann Bonus

    Show notes

In the first Lonesome Conversation I ever recorded, I speak with Jeffrey and Clayten, the two men behind Focused Life-Force Energy, to open on a paradox: how can we be more digitally connected than any humans in history, yet lonelier than ever? Clayten remembers pandemic Zoom dinners and the front porch he misses, while Jeffrey names the "field effect" between two people in a room — an intimate, silent exchange between our energetic fields that a video call simply can't carry, and that most of us don't even know we're missing. A quietly unsettling look at what disappears when presence goes virtual.

    About Jeffrey

Jeffrey Stegman’s focus has been on creating a high-consciousness culture in his businesses, which parallels his own personal spiritual path. Jeffrey was the co-owner of two manufacturing businesses, including one in business since 1835. FLFE is a confluence of Jeffrey’s manufacturing, engineering, business, and spiritual evolution.

Focused Life-Force Energy began in 2008 when two men with an interest in high-consciousness fields met through a mutual friend. After coming across the beginnings of an invention that would become part of the FLFE system, Jeffrey Stegman and Clayten Stedmann worked together to develop it further. Eventually, they would broadcast high-consciousness fields to specific locations around the world. They poured thousands of hours into research and development to enhance this technology.

Beginning with service projects and targeting trauma-hit areas like refugee camps, FLFE grew into a private company and is now invited into the lives of thousands of people in over 85 countries. The company still donates over 90 percent of the energy created by the technology to service projects around the globe. FLFE is a thriving international organization that continues with its mission to “support the optimal conditions for the evolution of consciousness in an economized society” through the exploration of what is in the highest and best interest of all creation.

    About Clayten

Clayten Stedmann has worked in the education, training, and coaching business since 1995. From 1995 to 2020, he focused on business as a spiritual path in his coaching practice. He discovered Consciousness Kinesiology in 2004, and as of December 2024, he has done over 14 million CK calibrations and created 10 consciousness assessments and two unique energetic medicine protocols. From 2013 to the present, Clayten has transitioned from using his coaching and research skills in his private practice to using those skills in a company he co-founded. Focused Life-Force Energy continues his purposeful intention to create the conditions for humanity to have a higher level of consciousness.

    Same place, drastically different trips.

We get into what happens when a habit doesn't wreck your life but still runs it, and why "biohacker-friendly" substances can be harder to walk away from than anyone tells you. Alyson shares how she attunes to a land before arriving, the message she received before Costa Rica, and the animal encounters that shaped her three weeks there.

I open up about the emotional hangover of writing A Horse Named Lonesome, why microdosing iboga didn't help me the way I hoped, and the conversation with Ian Mitchell that changed my plan.

    Episode 688

    Show notes

Mark Sisson ran for decades in cushioned shoes and paid for it with a hip replacement he believes was preventable.

Seven Gs of force hit your hip with every step in cushioned shoes, versus one or two when your feet can feel the ground. That number reframed everything I thought I knew about footwear.

Mark is the forefather of the primal movement, founder of Primal Kitchen and Peluva, and he’s spent decades studying what keeps a body moving into its 70s and beyond.

Wide-toebox shoes alone will not undo a lifetime of damage. Mark explains why toe articulation is the piece almost everyone misses, and why the big toe, the most important joint in the foot, shows its lost function in your knees, hips, and glutes.

Also covered: Failure Magazine, a $1.5M TV flop, the pivot that became Mark’s Daily Apple, cold plunges, keto, TRT, biohacking, and why chasing a top-2% VO2 max might cost you your life.

If your feet hurt, your knees hurt, or you want to still be walking at 90, this one’s worth listening to.

  20. The Closer You Get to God, the Lonelier the Path Gets w/ Alex Sachon Bonus

    Show notes

In this Lonesome Conversation, Alex and I sit down to name a paradox a lot of seekers know intimately — that the closer you draw to God or consciousness, the fewer people tend to be standing there beside you. Drawing on his favorite philosopher, Manly P. Hall, Alex explains why real spiritual growth doesn't make life easier but instead "quickens the wheel of karma," ushering in a season of trial rather than comfort. We sit with the strange irony that becoming connected to something vast can leave you more alone in your own living room.

    About Alex

Alex Sachon is a philosopher with a background in the social sciences. He uses the wisdom of ancient philosophy to understand the fast-changing social, cultural, and geopolitical environment we live in.

He recently wrote a book called The Coming World Nation that lays out his model of the various tiers of the social hierarchy and offers a revisionist account of the past 200 years of American history. He's also a specialist in the field of Esoteric Philosophy and is one of the world's top scholars on the work of Manly P. Hall.
