Sitcom Friend Fall: Make Your Friendships Feel Like The Ones You See On TV
Season 1, Episode 468
Show notes
I just had a close friend over and the next time we were both available to hang out was in 2 MONTHS. Then I watch these TV shows, like Friends, New Girl, Adults, and How I Met Your Mother, where they’re all hanging out with each other all the time. So I asked myself: can real life friendships be as good as the friendships portrayed on TV?
I dove into these sitcoms and the science, and it turns out there are five very real steps we can all take to have sitcom-level friendships in our real adult lives (no matter where we live or how old we are).
I came up with this action plan for a sitcom friend fall. Sitcom friend fall is a commitment we’re all taking together to have truly fun, fulfilling, and deeper friendships in our lives this fall.
🎧 What you’ll learn:
• A formula for building inside jokes, shared rituals, and that "you had to be there" feeling
• How to skip small talk and get to real, unfiltered intimacy and trust with friends
• The 3 key ingredients that make sitcom friendships feel like family

I Want To Enter My Crone Era, But Society Won't Let Me
Season 1, Episode 465
Show notes
Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock are 62 and 59 years old, yet look significantly younger. During their press tour for their new movie, some people are saying “this standard feels impossible, why can’t we just age!”.
In today’s episode, I talk about the crone era: a phase in a woman’s elder life where she stops seeking approval, embraces her hard-earned wisdom, and unapologetically prioritizes her own desires.
🎧 What you’ll learn:
• The real economic reasons performing beauty pays off, especially for women
• The one hidden cost extremely beautiful people pay, that most of us never see
• How society stripped value from being the "wise elder" (and what that has to do with Botox)
• A simple gut-check question to tell if your beauty routine is helping you live more, or less
• One phrase we all say to older women that's secretly doing more harm than good

What You THINK You Want In A Partner Is Ruining Your Love Life
Season 1, Episode 460
Show notes
I chat with a top relationship researcher who shares shocking data on what actually leads to a compatible, successful relationship. If you want to know if you’ve found the one, or what you should actually be looking for while dating, this episode is for you.
Dr. Paul Eastwick is a professor of psychology at UC Davis. He has led dozens of studies on the science of attraction, and he's the author of the best-selling book Bonded By Evolution. In this episode, he shares the real data around the relationship questions or thoughts we’ve all had.
🎧 What you’ll learn:
• Why the traits we think matter most for compatibility (values, politics, looks) barely predict long-term relationship success
• What men and women actually want in a partner vs. what they say they want
• The two-part psychological framework that predicts whether your relationship will thrive long-term
• Why physical attraction to your partner works completely differently than "objective" hotness
• The real reason attraction fades and how couples can bring it back
• The #1 warning sign that a relationship is heading toward a breakup
• Why "love at first sight" happens to some people and not others
• The truth about red flags, sparks, and soulmates
• One simple daily habit to transform how you show up in relationships

Debunking Wellness Myths: Which "Toxins" Are Real & Which Are BS
Season 1, Episode 458
Show notes
Reposting one of my favorite episodes! Do you know what the major sources of microplastics are in your home? Should you actually throw out your plastic cutting board? Are you ingesting heavy metals without even knowing it? Is your microwave hurting you?
I’m joined by Dr. Vivian Chen to get real answers about the toxins we're all a little worried about—microplastics, heavy metals, EMFs, PFAS, forever chemicals, water filtration, red light therapy, and the health myths worth knowing (and the ones you can let go of). If it's a toxin you're afraid of, we're getting into it.
🎧 What you'll learn:
• Why fiber might be your body's best defense against the microplastics you can't avoid
• The exact question to ask before buying a water filter (it's not "which one is best")
• Why your "healthy" non-stick pan might not be as safe as the brand claims
• The dosing mistake that means most red light therapy devices are doing NOTHING
• Why microwaving food in plastic is far riskier than cutting on a plastic board
• The 3-step hierarchy for actually lowering your PFAS exposure (toilet paper isn't on it)For more from Dr. Vivian Chen, subscribe to her Substack: https://platefulhealth.substack.com.
