  1. Ep. 243: God is Calling From the Garden, with Florencia Moynihan

    Episode 243

    Show notes

Real talk: There are many times when taking care of yourself doesn't feel like a priority. And sometimes that "time" turns into a lifetime. . . But surviving off of little sleep, little food, and little joy is what many of us have come to expect, even within Christian circles. We would rather prioritize others, or church, or ministry work than spend the time to do those kind of things for *us* -- it even feels a little selfish to think of doing so. Does it really matter how well we care for ourselves? Does it have an impact on our families or our kingdom work? Let's explore these questions together and discover how God is calling us from the garden with guest and nutritional therapy practitioner, Florencia Moynihan.

GUEST BIO: Florencia Moynihan, “The Catholic Nutritionist,” is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, FEMM instructor, and women’s health advocate. She is the host of the Made Good podcast and runs a thriving practice dedicated to helping women heal through faith, bio-individual care, and the integration of body and soul.

NOTE: Note: This episode briefly mentions eating disorders.

  2. Ep. 242: When Womanhood Feels Like a Punishment, with Amy Peeler

    Episode 242

    Show notes

Is it good to be a woman? Our minds say yes, but our hearts aren't always so sure... Even in Christian circles, it can be tough to be a woman. We know that God loves us, but does God love us in the same way? Are women just as beloved or do men have an advantage in the eyes of God? In today's episode, I have the privilege of speaking with Dr. Amy Peeler about these deeply meaningful questions and it's one of my favorite episodes this season. I hope you enjoy it just as much!

NOTE: This episode is appropriate for all audiences.

GUEST BIO: Amy Peeler is the Kenneth T. Wessner Chair of Biblical Studies at Wheaton College and Associate Rector at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Geneva, IL. Married to church organist and liturgical scholar, Lance Peeler, they enjoy time with their three children (Kate, 18, Maxson 14, and Kindred 12), hiking, and CrossFit, and Amy is running in her sixth marathon (her daughter’s first!) this fall.

  3. Ep. 241: She Seriously Doubted They'd Ever Have Kids Biologically, Andrea and Hayden's client story

    Episode 241

    Show notes

This episode with Andrea and Hayden was a JOY to record and I can't wait for you to hear their story. They struggled to conceive for many years and truly doubted whether or not they would ever have biological children. In today's episode, they get really honest about the struggles of that journey, physically, mentally, relationally, and spiritually, and open up about how they walked through it and what ultimately led to the birth of their son. But they are delightfully themselves as they share and I found myself laughing during the episode and the editing. I know you'll appreciate their candor as much as I did!

NOTE: This episode does discuss infertility.

GUEST BIO: Hayden and Andrea battled infertility for 5 years. But through the help of the Creighton system, a surgery and a lot of faith, they welcomed Noah into their lives 9 months ago. They wanted to share their story to inspire others that there is hope and other methods of conception help than mainstream ones that people talk so much about.

  4. Ep. 240: Is Male Sperm Causing Recurrent Miscarriage, with Dr. Turczynski

    Episode 240

    Show notes

Are infertility and miscarriages caused by male fertility issues? The focus is so often on the female side of things, but male factor infertility affects roughly 50% of these cases. The biggest questions are how do you know if male factor is an issue for you and are there treatment options available for it? When couples are so quickly encouraged to pursue IVF and sperm donation, I thought you may like to hear from a former IVF clinician who knows the ins and outs of both approaches. Today's episode is with Dr. Craig Turczynski of RRM Diagnostics!

NOTE: This episode does frequently reference pregnancy loss and miscarriage, although no specifics or details are shared.

GUEST BIO: Dr. Turczynski completed a B.S in Animal Science at Iowa State University, a Ph.D. in Physiology of Reproduction at Texas A&M University, and a post-doctoral fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at the Women’s Research Institute in Wichita, KS. He was an Assistant Professor of ObGyn at Louisiana State University Medical School-Shreveport where he developed and directed their IVF laboratories. He left the IVF field and subsequently trained in several fertility awareness methods and restorative reproductive medicine approaches. He is currently the co-founder and practicing andrologist for RRM Diagnostics in Dallas, TX, and coaches men on how to preserve and improve fertility.

  5. Ep. 239: Why Do Christian Girls Struggle with Sex? Re-Training the Body & Brain with Jess Seitz, PF-OT

    Episode 239

    Show notes

Many Christian couples reserve sex for marriage, but *how they go about doing that* can have a huge impact on their physical intimacy after they get married. What is a dating couple supposed to do to keep healthy boundaries while not shutting down their natural sexual desire? What about married couples who found out after marriage that their strict attempts at gatekeeping made intimacy more challenging now that there are no longer any "rules"? I'm joined by pelvic floor occupational therapist, Jess Seitz, to discuss this common struggle we see among our Christian clients and the HOPE that is available for both dating and married couples! We talk about ways to honor God's good design of sexual desire while still maintaining faithful dating choices as well as something you can start doing today to heal your hurt if you're married and struggling in this way. This episode is full of helpful discussion and practical tips that we hope encourage listeners!

NOTE: This episode is not appropriate for all audiences as it talks openly and explicitly about sexual concerns and realities.

GUEST BIO: Jess Seitz is a trauma-informed pelvic floor occupational therapist and founder of Pain Free Intimacy, where she works as a vaginismus recovery coach to help women from around the world break free of the pain and frustration of vaginismus to enjoy intimacy the way it was intended.

  6. Ep. 238: Women Have Different Bodies Than Men--and This Matters (A Lot), with guest, Leah Sargeant

    Episode 238

    Show notes

Are women and men equal? Yes. Are they different? Yes. Can both statements be true? Yes! But how that plays out is often where things get sticky. Yet, acknowledging the physical differences between women and men has massive influence on who we are as a culture, a society, family unit, and individuals. In today's episode, Caitlin talks with author, mother, and thinker, Leah Sargeant, about her most recent book, The Dignity of Dependence. Leah shares how our understanding of dependence is highlighted by the female body, but being dependent may not mean what you think it does. During our discussion, we touch on: - feminism and women's dignity - cultural assumptions that have impacted women's healthcare - the role of a contraceptive culture vs reality - the empowering gift of being a woman - the importance about sharing your authentic experience with the world. I really enjoyed chatting with Leah and I think you'll enjoy it too.

GUEST BIO: Leah Sargeant is the author of The Dignity of Dependence, and runs the Substack Other Feminisms. She lives in Maryland with her husband and three kids.

  12. Ep. 232: Communion as Comfort When Your Female Body Feels Broken, with Hannah King

    Episode 232

    Show notes

It's not easy being a woman in the world, especially physically. As much as we would like to pretend it doesn't make a difference, it impacts our lives, not only on a physical level, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. And especially when that physical reality is painful or broken or abusive, where is God to be found? For author Hannah Miller King, it was in the simple act of communion. Episode 228

    Show notes

Why is there a Christian book about women's health and fertility? What does faith have to do with PAP smears and endometriosis?? Too often, the only time we see religion take part in conversations around reproductive health is when there's controversy or debate. That is not what we're about, or what our book is about. If you're interested in hearing just a hint of why we talk about faith alongside women's health, this episode is for you.

    Episode 225

Hanna prefers holistic medicine and homeopathy to modern medical advancements so when her doctor recommended a laparoscopy for possible endometriosis, she wasn't thrilled. This began a journey of determining whether or not this surgery would be right for her specifically and she shares that honest journey with us in today's podcast. Whether or not you suspect endometriosis, many of us will face some tough medical calls in the midst of the unknown and it's hard to make a decision when we don't know the future. Episode 224

    Show notes

FemTech is a big industry but how helpful is it to "the little people" especially those trying to conceive? We talked with NaProTechnology trained PA, Naomi Davis, from Vivify Fertility & Health, about how she's seen FEMTECH support and restrict women trying to grow their families. She lays out the major types of FemTech devices, some pros and cons, and her best advice for those trying to conceive. We live in a technology-driven age, which means we have to be EDUCATED about what helps us vs what doesn't.

I'm thrilled that Naomi came on the show today because she is a part of The Fertile Hive, an online community led by NaProTechnology-trained medical professionals who want to provide support, encouragement, and education to those struggling to conceive. The Fertile Hive is one of our partners during the book launch of Woven Well: A Christian Woman's Guide to Reproductive Health, Fertility and Wholeness.

The Fertile Hive is an educational community led by Dr. Kristina Pakiz and Naomi Davis, PA-C, offering expert guidance and sisterly support for women navigating infertility. Together, we cut through the noise to create clarity, confidence, and hope on the fertility journey.

GUEST BIO: Naomi Davis is a board-certified physician assistant dedicated to providing holistic women’s healthcare that honors the body’s natural design. Inspired by her own experience with irregular cycles and PCOS, she practices NaProTechnology under the mentorship of Kristina Pakiz, integrating nutrition, exercise, and evidence-based medicine to help women find answers for pain, irregular cycles, infertility, and menopause-related concerns.
