  1. Morning Sunlight, Grounding and Ancestral Rhythms for Longevity | Hilda Labrada Gore, Part 2

    Episode 85

    Show notes

Part 2 In this episode of Younger Than Yesterday, Ian Clark sits down with Hilda Labrada Gore, “Holistic Hilda,” for Part 2 of their conversation about ancestral health, longevity and the mindset that keeps us young at heart.

Hilda hosted the Wise Traditions podcast for the Weston A. Price Foundation for 10 years and has spent years learning from Indigenous communities around the world. In this episode she shares how two weeks of morning sunlight turned her from a lifelong night owl into an early riser with more energy and a better mood. She also explains why light hygiene, grounding and real food matter more than most people realize.

She and Ian talk about the Kogi people’s view of the day as a wave, her 94-year-old father’s love of learning, and a Quechua midwife’s message that “our body is sacred.” They also discuss why self-respect, personal responsibility and daily affirmations can rewrite the stories we tell ourselves about aging.

    In this episode, you’ll discover:

    • How Hilda reset her circadian rhythm in just two weeks with early morning sunlight
    • Why “we’ve become astronauts,” and how to protect your light environment at night
    • The Aboriginal practice of dadirri, and why we’re “human doings” instead of human beings
    • Why “aging is the aggressive pursuit of comfort,” and how cold adaptation and stacking habits can help
    • What the Kogi people of Colombia teach about living with the rhythm of the sun
    • How grounding and bare feet on the earth can help you feel better
    • The toddy palm climbers of Tamil Nadu, India, and their traditional palm sugar
    • Why your mindset matters for longevity, and why “your cells are listening”
    • Why Ian claims “I am perfectly healthy,” and how affirmations can change you from the inside out
    • Hilda’s upcoming book The Ancestral Mother Code and her message for busy moms

If you’re curious about circadian health, ancestral living, healthy aging or building a longevity mindset, this conversation shows that small daily habits can change everything.

  2. Ancestral Health Secrets from Indigenous Elders: What Keeps Them Strong at 100 | Hilda Labrada Gore

    Episode 84

    Show notes

(Part 1 )** In this episode of Younger Than Yesterday, Ian Clark sits down with Hilda Labrada Gore, known as “Holistic Hilda.” She’s an ancestral health advocate, podcaster and researcher who has travelled the world learning from Indigenous elders about what keeps the human body and spirit strong.

Before she was born, doctors told Hilda’s mother that her baby would likely be deaf or unable to speak, and advised her not to have the child. Hilda was born a “blue baby” with a hole in her heart and had open heart surgery at age nine. She decided then that she would do everything she could to stay healthy without hospitals and help others do the same. Now over 60, she says she feels half her age.

Hilda produced the Wise Traditions podcast for the Weston A. Price Foundation for 10 years. Since 2015 she has visited Indigenous communities in Kenya, Australia, Peru and beyond, recording the habits that kept their elders strong into old age. She and Ian talk about the “lost diet” of local, organic, seasonal and traditional foods, why a diagnosis can shape how a person lives, and the Aboriginal practice of dadirri, or deep listening. They also cover simple daily habits like morning walks, sunlight and cold adaptation that anyone can start today.

    In this episode, you’ll discover:

    • How a 100-year-old Maasai elder who “never got sick” explained what changed for his grandchildren
    • What Dr. Weston A. Price found when he studied 14 isolated Indigenous groups, and what their traditional diets had in common
    • Why the word “diagnosis” matters, and how fear can shape your health outcomes
    • The Aboriginal practice of dadirri, and how stillness can point you toward your purpose
    • Why walking may be the most underrated longevity habit, and how many steps Ian aims for each day
    • How to “stack your hacks” with morning sunlight, cold exposure and prayer walks
    • Why moms need to meet their own needs first, from Hilda’s upcoming book The Ancestral Mother Code: Six Habits to Restore Your Energy and Build Generational Health (out February 2027)

Whether you’re into ancestral health, natural longevity, real food nutrition or just want more energy without getting overwhelmed, this conversation gives you a simple place to start: pick one habit and begin.

  3. Walking Is the Missing Link to Longevity | Ian Clark

    Episode 83

    Show notes

Walking Is the Missing Link to Longevity | Ian Clark

Walking is one of the most overlooked foundations of human health. We've become so accustomed to thinking of exercise in terms of calories burned, gym memberships, and fitness routines that we've lost sight of what happens inside the body every time we take a step.

In this episode of Younger Than Yesterday, Ian Clark takes a deeper look at the science and mechanics of walking, explaining how this seemingly ordinary movement supports circulation, lymphatic function, bone strength, digestion, cognitive health, and longevity.

The human body is built for movement. Our feet, muscles, joints, and connective tissues work together through a remarkable sequence of compression, release, and rhythmic motion. Walking engages these systems simultaneously, helping maintain the physical functions that become increasingly important as we age.

Approaching his seventieth year, Ian shares his personal experience of making walking a nonnegotiable part of his daily routine, now averaging a minimum of 21,000 steps per day. The changes he's observed have reinforced his belief that consistent walking is one of the most valuable investments we can make in our long-term health.

Throughout the conversation, Ian breaks down ten important physiological mechanisms associated with walking, including the pumping action of the feet and calf muscles, lymphatic circulation, skeletal loading, spinal disc movement, joint mobility, digestive motility, and the relationship between physical activity and memory.

He also challenges conventional thinking around daily step counts, walking speed, running, and structured exercise. Rather than chasing arbitrary numbers or pushing the body beyond its capabilities, Ian encourages finding your natural walking cadence and gradually increasing the amount of movement you can comfortably sustain.

The conversation extends into the relationship between walking and emotional well-being, the value of spending time outdoors, and Ian's perspective on the body's interaction with the Earth's electromagnetic environment.

Perhaps most importantly, Ian explores how much of what we associate with getting older may also reflect years of physical inactivity. Walking cannot stop biological aging, but maintaining mobility, cardiovascular fitness, and physical independence can make a meaningful difference in how we experience it.

    In this episode, Ian discusses:

    • How walking supports blood circulation through the plantar venous plexus and calf muscle pump
    • The relationship between movement, lymphatic drainage, and immune function
    • Why weight-bearing activity matters for bone strength and skeletal health
    • How the arches of the feet contribute to efficient movement
    • The effects of walking on spinal discs, connective tissue, fascia, and joint mobility
    • The relationship between walking, digestion, and intestinal motility
    • How regular physical activity supports brain health, memory, and cognitive function
    • Why walking speed is considered an indicator of physical function and longevity
    • Finding your natural walking cadence and building a sustainable daily step count
    • The importance of movement in maintaining independence and quality of life as we age

Walking requires no membership, expensive equipment, or complicated protocol. It's an opportunity to work with the body's natural design, one step at a time.

As Ian puts it, "Every step is an investment in your future health."

  4. Paida Lajin Explained: Hongchi Xiao’s Self-Healing Routine (Part 2)

    Episode 82

    Show notes

Can a simple routine of slapping and stretching really change how you think about pain?

In this episode of Younger Than Yesterday, Ian Clark sits down with Hongchi Xiao for part two of their conversation. Hongchi is the teacher behind Paida Lajin, the practice of slapping and stretching the body, and the man who first introduced Ian to self-healing nine years ago.

This time they get practical. They talk about pain, stress and the heart, and about the stories Hongchi gathered while in a British prison, including a cellmate who was a doctor and stopped thinking it was nonsense. Hongchi also explains why he teaches the same simple routine for almost every complaint.

It’s warm, funny and full of stories. It ends with plans for Hongchi’s workshops in North America.

  5. The Secret Your Body Has Been Keeping: Hongchi Xiao on Self-Healing

    Episode 81

    Show notes

In this episode of Younger Than Yesterday, Ian Clark sits down with Hongchi Xiao, the man who first introduced Ian to Paida Lajin, to self-healing, and to the connections between the physical and metaphysical in the body. Ian discovered Hongchi's work nine years ago in an interview, and it shaped much of what Ian practices and teaches today. This is their first conversation face to face, and this is Hongchi's story in his own words.

Hongchi grew up in China and taught English in a remote village school. He worked as a government interpreter in Tibet, then went to business school in Arizona. His finance career took him from the World Trade Center to Hong Kong. Then, at 40, he walked away from it all to search for ways of healing that had nothing to do with medication.

That search took him across western China, to Kung Fu masters, Taoist monks, a fisherman healer in an isolated mountain village, and an old nun with an unforgettable story. Along the way he came to the idea at the heart of his life's work: the most powerful healing isn't something done to you, it's something you learn to do yourself.

Then the conversation goes deeper. Hongchi and Ian talk about how the body and spirit are connected, about pain as a teacher, and about courage and responsibility. Hongchi explains why he believes healing the body is really a doorway to healing the mind.

    In this episode, you'll discover:

    • Hongchi's path from investment banking to a lifelong search for self-healing
    • The chance meetings in China's mountains and monasteries that shaped Paida Lajin
    • Why Hongchi chose to stop being a "healer" and became a teacher instead
    • How Hongchi's work first reached Ian, and what it has meant to him
    • Why Hongchi calls pain "one of the most beautiful gifts"
    • The connection between body, breath and spirit, and the Taoist idea of "no destruction, no construction"
    • Hongchi's upcoming book, The Winds of Liberation

  6. Bio-Well, Biofield Energy & Root-Cause Healing | Dr. Nima Farshid

    Episode 80

    Show notes

What if your body works less like a machine of separate parts and more like an electrical system that needs clear, uninterrupted flow?

In this episode of Younger Than Yesterday, Ian Clark sits down with Dr. Nima Farshid, a doctor of integrative medicine and bioenergetics researcher. Thirteen years ago, doctors gave Nima two weeks to live and recommended a pacemaker for severe heart palpitations. Instead, he set out to find the root cause.

That search took him to Russia, Italy and Croatia, where he found technologies that measure, reconnect and recharge the body's energy, including the Bio-Well. Nima explains why so many people carry energy blockages in the neck and hips, and why unresolved emotions may be one of the biggest factors in long-term health.

Ian and Nima also explore a bigger idea: autonomy. When people have the tools to understand their own bodies, they stop outsourcing their health and start supporting the body's ability to heal itself. Both believe health isn't an expense but an investment, and that quality of life matters more than simply adding years.

In this episode, you'll discover how the Bio-Well measures light emitted from your cells, why your spine acts as the body's energy highway, how modern posture and sitting affect energy flow, the link between unresolved emotions and the nervous system, and why Ian sees health as the most important investment you can make.

  7. How to Live a Longer, Healthier Life with 97-Year-Old Dr. Fred Bisci

    Episode 79

    Show notes

What can nearly a century of life teach us about health, longevity and the extraordinary intelligence of the human body?

In this episode of Younger Than Yesterday, Ian Clark sits down with Dr. Fred Bisci, who is approaching 97 years old and has spent decades studying nutrition, fasting, human physiology and healthy aging.

Their conversation goes far beyond the latest longevity trends. Fred shares the principles that have shaped his approach to health over a lifetime, while Ian explores why he believes the future of longevity isn't about trying to "hack" the human body, but learning how to work with it.

Together, they discuss biological efficiency, the importance of consistency, removing habits that work against the body, maintaining curiosity as we age and why extending lifespan means very little if we aren't also protecting our quality of life.

Ian and Fred also explore something deeper: the responsibility that comes with knowledge. If better health allows us to remain present, capable and useful for longer, perhaps longevity isn't simply about living more years. Perhaps it's about having more years to contribute, serve and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

In this episode, you'll discover how Fred thinks about nutrition and fasting after decades of personal experience, why consistency may matter more than intensity, Ian's philosophy of "bio-optimization" rather than biohacking, the relationship between curiosity and healthy aging, and why both Ian and Fred believe health ultimately gives us a greater opportunity to serve.

  8. How to Feel Younger at 70: Michael Jennings on Oral Health, Nasal Breathing & Listening to Your Body

    Episode 78

    Show notes

At nearly 70 years old, Michael Jennings says he feels more energized, capable and connected to his purpose than he has in years.

In this episode of Younger Than Yesterday, Michael joins Ian Clark to share the personal health journey that began when he was advised to have 11 teeth extracted. Rather than immediately accepting that recommendation, he began asking deeper questions about oral health, nasal breathing and the body’s ability to restore balance when given the right support.

Michael discusses his experiences with dental discomfort, decades of restricted nasal breathing, obstructive sleep apnea and the daily practices he believes helped him reconnect with his health. Together, he and Ian explore the importance of learning through personal experience, becoming an active steward of your body and developing the discernment to recognize when something does not feel right.

The conversation also moves beyond physical wellness into purpose, faith, community and the inner peace that can guide important decisions. As Michael beautifully puts it, “It’s okay to be in the storm. Just don’t let the storm be in you.”

    In this episode:

    • Why Michael questioned a recommendation to extract 11 teeth
    • The connection between oral health and whole-body wellness
    • His experience breathing through both nostrils after decades of difficulty
    • The daily wellness practices he follows at nearly 70
    • Why knowledge only becomes powerful when it is applied
    • Listening to your body and allowing peace to “call the shots”
    • The importance of community, shared wisdom and personal responsibility
    • Why growing older does not have to mean accepting decline

  9. Jim Kwik: How to Upgrade Your Brain, Protect Your Mind From AI & Become Limitless Daily

    Episode 77

    Show notes

What happens to human intelligence when technology begins doing more of our thinking for us?

In this episode of Younger Than Yesterday, Ian sits down with longtime friend, brain coach and bestselling author Jim Kwik for a conversation about protecting and developing the mind in an age of unprecedented technological convenience.

Jim shares how a childhood brain injury and the belief that he was “the boy with the broken brain” ultimately led to more than three decades of studying memory, learning, focus and human performance. Together, Ian and Jim explore the difference between using technology as leverage and surrendering our cognitive abilities to it, why critical thinking and judgment must continue to be exercised, and how AI can augment human intelligence without replacing it.

They also discuss the philosophy behind Jim’s new book, Limitless Daily, and why meaningful transformation is rarely the result of one extraordinary effort. It is the accumulation of small, deliberate practices repeated consistently over time.

From protecting the first moments of the morning to developing cognitive flexibility and learning to “build before you borrow,” this conversation is an invitation to become more intentional about what you give your attention to, how you exercise your mind, and who you are becoming through the habits you practice every day.

  12. Peptides & Bioregulators Explained: The Truth About GLP-1, Ozempic & Weight Loss | Sarah Morgan

    Episode 74

    Show notes

Ian sits down with Sarah Morgan — a nutrition biochemist who trained for medicine before pivoting into functional nutrition, genetics, and peptide education — to cut through the confusion around peptides, bioregulators, and GLP-1s. They cover what these molecules actually are, why the body already makes them, the real story behind GLP-1 weight regain and "cellular memory," why weight loss is the wrong metric to obsess over, and why none of this replaces sleep, nutrition, movement, and human connection.

Peptides and bioregulators aren't foreign substances — the body produces thousands of them daily, and most of what's being introduced through supplementation is supporting a signaling process the body is already designed to run. GLP-1 molecules aren't inherently good or bad; the outcome depends on dose, purpose, and what else is (or isn't) being addressed alongside them. Weight regain after stopping GLP-1s isn't a willpower failure — it's tied to an epigenetic "cellular memory" that can take years to fully reset. And no peptide protocol replaces the fundamentals: quality sleep, real food, movement, and genuine human connection.
